About This Sunflower Design

Twin sunflower heads turned at slightly different angles, petals radiating in overlapping rows around a densely seeded centre forms the subject of this Sunflower piece, worked in gold and amber petals with deep umber centres against a clear sky blue. The character is warm and open, and it stays that way at any distance. Sunflower designs carry the light of a room without needing the room to be bright — the amber does the work. It is for people who relax through repetitive, hands-busy work. Designed for kitchens and sunlit rooms, it holds up as decor rather than as something you finish and put in a drawer. Reference Q4847. The seed centre is the densest drill area on the canvas and the part that reads most sculptural up close Put simply, sunflower designs carry the light of a room without needing the room to be bright — the amber does the work.

sunflower designs carry the light of a room without needing the room to be bright — the amber does the work. In kitchens and sunlit rooms the piece holds its own against the surrounding colour rather than fighting it.

This is a DOTZSO canvas for people who want the process to slow them down and the result to last. Every kit ships with a colour-printed canvas, DOTZSO resin drills, a sorting tray, a comfort-grip pen, a wax caddy and printed instructions.

There is no hidden step with this kit. Match the symbol, place the drill, work the block, and the canvas fills in predictably.

With 1 canvases in the kit, the project runs across a longer stretch of evenings.

What’s in the Box

  • 1 × colour-printed canvas
  • DOTZSO signature resin drills, sorted by colour (with extra drills included)
  • Diamond painting tray
  • Comfort-grip applicator pen
  • Wax caddy
  • Pictorial step-by-step instructions

How to Make It

  1. Unroll the canvas on a flat surface and let it settle under something weighted if it has been rolled tight.
  2. Find the legend strip and match the first symbol to its drill colour.
  3. Press the pen tip into the wax caddy, then touch it to a drill – the drill lifts and stays on the tip.
  4. Set the drill onto the matching printed symbol and press lightly. Work one colour block at a time rather than jumping around the canvas.
  5. Continue until the design is complete, then press the finished surface flat with a book for an hour to seat every drill.
  6. Seat the canvas in its frame, or store it flat, once the surface has been pressed.

Finish it at an unhurried pace, then frame it — the canvas is built to be displayed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the diamond painting kit include everything visible in the product images?

Yes. The Sunflower diamond painting kit ships complete with everything shown in the product images, so there is nothing else to source, plus the DOTZSO resin drills, tray, applicator pen, wax caddy and pictorial instructions. Nothing else needs sourcing. Reference Q4847.

How long does the Sunflower finish hold its appearance?

Once the drills are seated and the surface is sealed, the Sunflower design holds under normal use. The sealed surface handles normal handling, and the sealing step is the single biggest factor in how long the finish lasts. Give the seal a full cure and the Sunflower finish will hold.

How do I avoid damaging the Sunflower surface when cleaning?

Wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately. Do not submerge it or put it through a dishwasher — the adhesive layer under the drills is not built for a soak. For the Sunflower palette, gold and amber petals tones show dust less than pale grounds, so a light pass is usually enough. Routine care is minimal once the Sunflower piece is sealed.

Is the Sunflower diamond painting kit evenly drilled across the face?

The round resin drills are colour-sorted and matched to the printed symbol key. The Sunflower artwork is drawn so that twin sunflower heads turned at slightly different angles reads clearly at any distance. The Sunflower surface is evenly worked throughout.

What is a realistic time frame for the Sunflower project?

Plan for two to four evenings, depending on the size of the canvas. The Sunflower design is warm and open, which tends to make it easier to work in short sessions. Longer if you prefer to work the Sunflower design slowly.

How simple is the Sunflower design to follow?

Yes. The symbol key is printed directly on the canvas and the pictorial instructions walk through the whole process, so no prior diamond painting experience is needed. The Sunflower layout is warm and open, which helps on a first attempt. Every component ships in the same package.

The detail on this canvas is really nice up close. The adhesive is plenty sticky, the drills stay exactly where I put them. It’s a lovely quiet hobby, and I like having something to show for it at the end. Highly recommend.

This was my first full size canvas and it turned out better than I hoped. I’ve had three people ask me where I bought it. Took longer than the estimated time, but that’s on me. Still worth it overall.

I framed it once finished and it looks like real artwork. No missing colors and no shortage on the ones used most. It’s the kind of project that feels creative without being stressful. Once framed it looks like something you’d buy in a gallery. Great kit, no complaints.

  4. Melissa J. (verified owner) –

A bigger project than I’ve done before, but so worth the time. Legend is printed on the canvas itself, which I find handy. The flower design is even prettier in person than in the photos. I keep it set up on a side table and do a bit whenever I have ten minutes. It’s the nicest thing I’ve made so far. Exactly what I was hoping for.

  5. Nicole S. (verified owner) –

Bought it as a starter kit for myself and it worked out great. The bloom pattern is what drew me in and it didn’t disappoint. Everything I needed was in the box – pen, wax, tray and tweezers. The canvas came rolled, and it flattened out with no creases. Took longer than the estimated time, but that’s on me. I like having something mindful to do that doesn’t need a screen. It fits perfectly with the decor in the front entry. Good kit overall, just a couple of small things.

I don’t usually leave reviews but this one deserved it. The pen grip stayed comfortable through long sessions. It looks like real art in a simple frame. One section had a lot of similar shades, which slowed me down. Minor gripes aside, I’d buy it again.

Second time ordering this style, still happy with it. Legend is printed on the canvas itself, which I find handy. The flower detail comes together really nicely once it’s finished. It’s hanging in the Family room now and looks great. I’ll be ordering more.

Ordered two of these and gave one away as a gift. The fabric is pleasant to work on and doesn’t fray at the edges. I brought it on a week at the lake and finished most of it there. Pre-sorted drills would save time. It reads as a proper piece of art. Overall a good experience.

Bought this after finishing my last kit and it was a good call. The printed canvas is genuinely crisp, even in the dense areas. Good weight to the materials, it doesn’t feel cheap. I work on it while listening to an audiobook and the time just disappears. It was worth every evening I put into it. Solid choice, no regrets.

This was my first full size canvas and it turned out better than I hoped. The canvas feels substantial, not thin or flimsy. I had to press the canvas under books overnight before starting. Great way to slow down at the end of a busy day. I’d recommend it with that one note.

I needed a screen-free hobby and this fit the bill. The sunflower artwork comes together beautifully as you work. The canvas arrived flat rather than rolled tight. Nice to have a hobby that leaves you calmer than you started. Glad I went with this one.

The detail on this canvas is really nice up close. The adhesive is plenty sticky, the drills stay exactly where I put them. I do a section after work with a cup of tea and it’s a nice way to unwind. I picked the flower version and the colors are lovely. Five stars from me.

This one took some patience but the result is stunning. There’s enough margin on the edges for framing. I worked through this over a few weeks of evenings and loved it. Really proud to have this hanging in the house. The sunflower motif is what drew me in. Will be back for more.

The finished size makes a real statement on the wall. The canvas doesn’t curl at the corners after working on it. The tray and tweezers included were better than I expected. The canvas arrived folded rather than rolled, took a while to flatten. It’s the kind of task that quiets a busy mind. Worth the time it took. I’d order again, just knowing what to expect.

I keep it by my chair and pick it up whenever I have a few minutes. It gets compliments from everyone who sees it. I’d have liked a slightly longer chart, but it was workable. Happy with it, with one small caveat.
