What’s in the Box

  • 1 × printed case panel
  • 1 × rigid case body / frame
  • DOTZSO signature resin drills, sorted by colour (with extra drills included)
  • Diamond painting tray
  • Comfort-grip applicator pen
  • Wax caddy

How to Make It

  1. Lay the printed case panel flat and let it settle before starting.
  2. Find the legend strip and match the first symbol to its drill colour.
  3. Press the pen tip into the wax caddy, then touch it to a drill – the drill lifts and stays on the tip.
  4. Set the drill onto the matching printed symbol and press lightly. Work one section at a time rather than across the whole panel.
  5. Continue until the panel is covered, then press the finished surface flat with a book for an hour to seat every drill.
  6. Seal the surface and fit the panel into the case frame once the drills are fully seated.

Take the making at an easy pace, then put the finished case to work rather than away.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this Abstract eyeglass case kit include the tools as well as the project?

Yes. The Abstract eyeglass case kit ships complete with the case body and frame shown in the product images, plus the DOTZSO resin drills, tray, applicator pen, wax caddy and pictorial instructions. Nothing else needs sourcing. Reference Q52.

Does the Abstract eyeglass case kit hold together over time?

Once the drills are seated and the surface is sealed, the Abstract design holds under normal use. The rigid shell is what protects the drills in a bag, and the sealing step is the single biggest factor in how long the finish lasts. Coverage on the Abstract face does not degrade with use.

What should I use on the Abstract finish?

Wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately. Do not submerge it or put it through a dishwasher — the adhesive layer under the drills is not built for a soak. For the Abstract palette, muted terracotta, dusty blue and soft graphite resolved against an off-white ground tones show dust less than pale grounds, so a light pass is usually enough. Routine care is minimal once the Abstract piece is sealed.

How dense is the drilling on the Abstract design?

The panel is drilled across the whole face, so the finished case has complete coverage. The Abstract artwork is drawn so that overlapping colour fields drifting across the canvas reads clearly at any distance. The Abstract artwork relies on the drills rather than printed fill.

Does the Abstract project run over several days?

Roughly one to two evenings for most people, depending on the pattern density. The Abstract design is modern and understated, which tends to make it easier to work in short sessions. Progress is steady rather than dramatic on the Abstract piece.

Is the Abstract eyeglass case kit a reasonable first diamond painting?

Yes. The symbol key is printed directly on the case panel and the pictorial instructions walk through the whole process, so no prior diamond painting experience is needed. The Abstract layout is modern and understated, which helps on a first attempt. The box contains the full project.

Finished it in one evening and it turned out adorable. Good weight to the materials, it doesn’t feel cheap. Did most of it over a long weekend and it was such a pleasant way to pass the time. Mine lives in my tote bag and has saved my sunglasses more than once. I’ll be ordering more.

Bought it for a rainy weekend and it was exactly what I needed. The fit is snug enough that glasses don’t rattle around. Extra drills were included for every color, which I appreciated. Nice mindful project – you can’t think about much else while you’re placing drills. A really satisfying project from start to finish. A magnetic closure would be nicer than the snap. I’d recommend it with that one note.

I don’t usually leave reviews but this one deserved it. The drills sit flush so nothing catches on the lining of my purse. Plenty of margin around the edges for framing or trimming. Nice to have a hobby that leaves you calmer than you started. Practical and pretty, which is a rare combination. Loved it, no regrets.

Ordered two kits, this was the one I finished first. Finished size is just right for a standard pair of readers. Symbols on the chart are printed clearly enough to follow without guessing. I do this on the porch in the summer and it’s lovely. Made one for my mother and she carries it everywhere. A couple of the darker shades were hard to tell apart in low light. Good enough that I’d buy another.
