Diamond painting turns a coded canvas and tiny faceted
resin drills into shimmering art. The process is easy to learn, pleasantly repetitive, and especially friendly
to first-time crafters.
What comes in a kit?
Most complete kits include a pre-printed adhesive canvas, color-coded drills, a
sorting tray, wax, a placement pen, and a symbol chart. Before starting, compare the bags with the chart and
make sure each symbol is easy to read.
1. Set
up Choose a flat, bright workspace and open only the color you
need.
2. Peel
slowly Expose a small section of adhesive rather than the whole
canvas.
3. Place
drills Load the pen with wax, pick up one drill, and match its
symbol.
4. Press
gently Keep rows straight, then use a clean roller or book to
secure them.
Three habits that make the first project easier
Work in small zones. A 2–3 inch area keeps the adhesive protected and makes progress feel visible.
Keep labels with every color. If drills spill, the original
code helps you sort them again.
Take short breaks. Relax your hand, shoulders, and eyes every 30–45 minutes.
There is no need to rush. Your first canvas is a chance to learn the rhythm: pour,
shake, pick up, place. Once the pattern begins to sparkle, the method becomes wonderfully intuitive.
