Cat eyeglass case kit by DOTZSO — a cat settled in profile with tail wrapped forward in warm greys and soft browns. The fur direction changes at the shoulder and haunch, and following that line is what makes the finish read as animal rather than pattern. It is aimed at people who would rather replace a case by making one than by buying one. Shipped complete with the printed case panel, case body, DOTZSO resin drills, tray, pen, wax and instructions.

Why This Cat Eyeglass Case Earns Its Place in the Bag

A cat settled in profile with tail wrapped forward, fur rendered in overlapping short strokes across the flank and chest is what this Cat design is about, and the palette keeps to warm greys and soft browns with bright eye highlights against a tonal background. Nothing here overstates its case; the tone is simply calm and companionable. Cat portraits sell because the owner already has a relationship with the subject — the canvas just holds it. It is aimed at people who would rather replace a case by making one than by buying one. Designed for bedrooms and home offices, it holds up as decor rather than as something you finish and put in a drawer. Reference Q87. Cat portraits sell because the owner already has a relationship with the subject — the canvas just holds it That detail is doing more work than it first appears to.

cat portraits sell because the owner already has a relationship with the subject — the canvas just holds it. Which is the reason it works as well in bedrooms and home offices as it does anywhere else.

DOTZSO eyeglass case kits are made so the evening passes calmly and the finished case goes straight into a pocket. In the box: printed case panel, DOTZSO resin drills, a sorting tray, a comfort-grip applicator pen, a wax caddy and step-by-step pictures.

What separates a usable case from a decorative one is how it handles movement. The panel is pressed flat once complete, which is what keeps the drills locked in.

The pattern is drilled across the entire panel, so the case looks the same whichever way it faces.

What’s in the Box

  • 1 × printed case panel
  • 1 × rigid case body / frame
  • DOTZSO signature resin drills, sorted by colour (with extra drills included)
  • Diamond painting tray
  • Comfort-grip applicator pen
  • Wax caddy
  • Pictorial step-by-step instructions

How to Make It

  1. Lay the printed case panel flat and let it settle before starting.
  2. Find the legend strip and match the first symbol to its drill colour.
  3. Press the pen tip into the wax caddy, then touch it to a drill – the drill lifts and stays on the tip.
  4. Set the drill onto the matching printed symbol and press lightly. Work one section at a time rather than across the whole panel.
  5. Continue until the panel is covered, then press the finished surface flat with a book for an hour to seat every drill.
  6. Seal the surface and fit the panel into the case frame once the drills are fully seated.

Work through it gradually, then put the finished case to work in your bag.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Cat eyeglass case kit complete without further purchases?

Yes. The Cat eyeglass case kit ships complete with the case body and frame shown in the product images, plus the DOTZSO resin drills, tray, applicator pen, wax caddy and pictorial instructions. Nothing else needs sourcing. Reference Q87.

How solid is the finish on the Cat eyeglass case kit?

Once the drills are seated and the surface is sealed, the Cat design holds under normal use. The rigid shell is what protects the drills in a bag, and the sealing step is the single biggest factor in how long the finish lasts. Seat the drills evenly and the Cat piece is stable long term.

Does cleaning the Cat eyeglass case kit risk loosening the drills?

Wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately. Do not submerge it or put it through a dishwasher — the adhesive layer under the drills is not built for a soak. For the Cat palette, warm greys and soft browns tones show dust less than pale grounds, so a light pass is usually enough. A light pass is enough; the Cat finish resists marking.

Is the Cat eyeglass case kit fully covered or deliberately sparse?

The panel is drilled across the whole face, so the finished case has complete coverage. The Cat artwork is drawn so that a cat settled in profile with tail wrapped forward reads clearly at any distance. Coverage on the Cat piece does not vary across the design.

How long should I plan for the Cat eyeglass case kit?

Roughly one to two evenings for most people, depending on the pattern density. The Cat design is calm and companionable, which tends to make it easier to work in short sessions. Many people work it over a week of evenings.

Is the Cat eyeglass case kit easy to pick up?

Yes. The symbol key is printed directly on the case panel and the pictorial instructions walk through the whole process, so no prior diamond painting experience is needed. The Cat layout is calm and companionable, which helps on a first attempt. The kit includes everything needed to start.

The size is perfect, not bulky in my bag at all. If you like kitty designs, this is a good one to go for. Packaging was tidy and nothing had spilled in transit. I do this on the porch in the summer and it’s lovely. Gave one to my mom for Mother’s Day and she carries it everywhere. The closure is a little stiff at first. Good kit overall, just a couple of small things.

So glad I added this one to my cart. Packaging was tidy and nothing had spilled in transit. It sits on my nightstand and holds my glasses perfectly. Some colors came with barely any extras, though I didn’t run out. Overall a good experience.

Ordered two of these and gave one away as a gift. The cat palette works really well with the design. I wish it came in more colour options. Inside is roomier than I thought, fits my larger sunglasses fine. Nice mindful work that keeps you present. Happy enough that I’d buy another.

This one caught my eye on the new arrivals page. Plenty of margin around the edges for framing or trimming. I wish it came in more colour options. It’s practical and it looks nice, which is a rare combination. The kitty pattern is what made me choose this one. Still worth it overall.

I finished mine in an evening and started another. Very pleased with how it came together. Shipping took a bit longer than the estimate. Small issues, but nothing that would stop me ordering again.

The size is perfect, not bulky in my bag at all. Holds its shape nicely, doesn’t collapse when empty. The closure is a little stiff at first. Quiet Sunday mornings with this and a coffee is my favorite part of the week. Very pleased with how it came together. Still a solid purchase.

  7. Sylvia Jeffries –

I bought this for our weekend place and it’s been a hit. There were extra drills left over in every color when I finished. It’s a good way to slow down at the end of the day. The packaging was a little plain for a gift. Happy with it, with a few caveats.

These make really thoughtful little gifts. It turned into something I actually want to display, not shove in a drawer. The closure is a little stiff at first. I’d recommend it with that one note.

These were a small, easy project and a genuinely useful one. The hardware is sturdy enough for daily handling. It became my end-of-day wind-down. The wax ran out before I finished and I had to use my own. Keeps my readers from getting scratched in my purse. Overall a good experience.

Really nice kit, especially for the money. The drills sit flush so nothing catches on the lining of my purse. Great value for what you get. The adhesive picked up a bit of dust while I was working over several days. Would order again despite the small issues.

Such an easy kit to get going with. The drills have a nice sparkle to them, not dull or flat. I found it really peaceful to focus on one small area at a time. The wax ran out before I finished and I had to use my own. Worth it despite the small things.

I bought it because I’m always losing my readers and it’s been great. Really neat stitching where the two sides join. I went with the kitty version and the colors are lovely. The closure is stiff for the first few days. Really soothing to focus on one small area at a time. Still a good kit overall.

  14. Joanne Kramer –

Small enough to finish in one sitting, which I loved. Nothing arrived damaged, and everything was sealed properly. I take it on the porch in the evenings when the weather is nice. I reach for it every morning for my readers. A couple of the darker shades were hard to tell apart. Overall happy, just a few small things.

Perfect size for a first diamond art project. The finish is even across the whole piece. The closure is stiff for the first few days. Gave it to my uncle as a gift and it was a big hit. Still worth it overall.

Bought a set for the whole family since everyone loses their glasses. It makes a lovely gift and arrives nicely packaged. A couple of the darker shades were hard to tell apart in low light. I’d recommend it with that one note.

Bought these for my desk at work and they get compliments constantly. The cord is the right length to rest comfortably on my chest. The loop is snug on thicker frames. I work on it after dinner and it helps me switch off. Would still recommend it.

Got this for my mom and she uses it every single day. The interior lining is soft and won’t scratch lenses. The work is repetitive in a good way. Going to order a few more for Christmas presents. A little snug for oversized frames. I’d order it again knowing what I know now.

I’ve made three of these now as gifts and everyone loves them. Holds its shape nicely, doesn’t collapse when empty. No missing colors and no shortage on the ones used most. The packaging was a little crushed on one corner. Nice mindful project – you can’t think about much else while you’re placing drills. Keeps my readers from getting scratched in my purse. Would order again despite the small issues.

Second time ordering this style, still happy with it. Each color was packed generously, I had plenty to spare. Finish is even and the whole thing looks tidy once you’re done. The packaging arrived a little dented. I brought it on a weekend trip and finished most of it there. My glasses finally have a proper home. Would order again despite the small issues.

This one caught my eye on the new arrivals page. The loop holds my glasses securely without stretching out. Great for unwinding after a busy week. The cord is a hair long for my frame size. Gave one to my mom for Mother’s Day and she carries it everywhere. I’d order it again knowing what I know now.

I’ve made three of these now as gifts and everyone loves them. Inside is roomier than I thought, fits my larger sunglasses fine. I do a section a night with a podcast on. It’s found a permanent spot in the house. The wax ran low before I finished the last section. Happy enough that I’d buy another.

Ordered two of these and gave one away as a gift. This is a lovely cat piece for the price. Finished size is just right for a standard pair of readers. I found it really peaceful to focus on one small area at a time. Made one for my sister and she asked for two more. I wish there were a larger size option. Would still recommend it.

I’ve made three of these now as gifts and everyone loves them. The shape holds up well, hasn’t gotten squashed. It’s the kind of hobby that makes an evening feel well spent. Made one for my mother and she carries it everywhere. Slightly snug for my oversized sunglasses. Would still recommend it.

These are the cutest way to keep a pair of glasses where I can see them. Roomy inside, my larger sunglasses fit fine. Everything I needed was in the box – pen, wax, tray and tweezers. I did most of it over a lazy weekend and enjoyed every minute. One bead was slightly off-colour from the rest. A small gift that gets used every day. Overall happy, just a few small things.
