Why This Cat Eyeglass Case Earns Its Place in the Bag

Here the Cat pattern is a cat settled in profile with tail wrapped forward, fur rendered in overlapping short strokes across the flank and chest, worked through warm greys and soft browns with bright eye highlights against a tonal background. The finished character is calm and companionable — deliberate, not accidental. Cat portraits sell because the owner already has a relationship with the subject — the canvas just holds it. It suits readers who want a case that reflects them rather than a generic black one. Designed for bedrooms and home offices, it holds up as decor rather than as something you finish and put in a drawer. Reference Q78. cat portraits sell because the owner already has a relationship with the subject — the canvas just holds it That constraint is what gives the artwork its shape.

cat portraits sell because the owner already has a relationship with the subject — the canvas just holds it. That is the reason it reads as furniture in bedrooms and home offices rather than as decoration.

A DOTZSO case kit suits anyone whose glasses travel further than the bedside table. The package contains the printed case panel, DOTZSO resin drills, a tray, a comfort-grip applicator pen, a wax caddy and a full pictorial guide.

Think of this as a functional object first. The panel is rigid, the surface is sealed, and the case closes without the artwork interfering.

Full drill across the panel keeps the finish consistent from hinge to edge.

What’s in the Box

  • 1 × printed case panel
  • 1 × rigid case body / frame
  • DOTZSO signature resin drills, sorted by colour (with extra drills included)
  • Diamond painting tray
  • Comfort-grip applicator pen
  • Wax caddy
  • Pictorial step-by-step instructions

How to Make It

  1. Lay the printed case panel flat and let it settle before starting.
  2. Find the legend strip and match the first symbol to its drill colour.
  3. Press the pen tip into the wax caddy, then touch it to a drill – the drill lifts and stays on the tip.
  4. Set the drill onto the matching printed symbol and press lightly. Work one section at a time rather than across the whole panel.
  5. Continue until the panel is covered, then press the finished surface flat with a book for an hour to seat every drill.
  6. Seal the surface and fit the panel into the case frame once the drills are fully seated.

Go through it one section at a time, then let the finished case earn its keep.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the eyeglass case kit complete as pictured, or are parts extra?

Yes. The Cat eyeglass case kit ships complete with the case body and frame shown in the product images, plus the DOTZSO resin drills, tray, applicator pen, wax caddy and pictorial instructions. Nothing else needs sourcing. Reference Q78.

Will the Cat surface shed drills over time?

Once the drills are seated and the surface is sealed, the Cat design holds under normal use. The rigid shell is what protects the drills in a bag, and the sealing step is the single biggest factor in how long the finish lasts. There is nothing brittle about the finished Cat piece.

Does the Cat eyeglass case kit need regular cleaning?

Wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately. Do not submerge it or put it through a dishwasher — the adhesive layer under the drills is not built for a soak. For the Cat palette, warm greys and soft browns tones show dust less than pale grounds, so a light pass is usually enough. Handle the Cat piece with dry hands where possible.

How much bare surface does the Cat eyeglass case kit have?

The panel is drilled across the whole face, so the finished case has complete coverage. The Cat artwork is drawn so that a cat settled in profile with tail wrapped forward reads clearly at any distance. Coverage is total across the Cat artwork.

How much time should I set aside for the Cat eyeglass case kit?

Roughly one to two evenings for most people, depending on the pattern density. The Cat design is calm and companionable, which tends to make it easier to work in short sessions. The Cat piece can be paused at any point.

Is the Cat project forgiving of mistakes?

Yes. The symbol key is printed directly on the case panel and the pictorial instructions walk through the whole process, so no prior diamond painting experience is needed. The Cat layout is calm and companionable, which helps on a first attempt. Everything required is in the pack.

Got this for my mom and she uses it every single day. I keep one in the car and one in the house. There were slightly more drills than needed, so it took longer than planned. I’d recommend it with that one note.

This is my third order from DOTZSO and it did not disappoint. The attachment holds without scratching the temple arms. The drills sit nice and flush, no gaps showing the surface underneath. I do it at the kitchen table while dinner simmers. Only small gripe is that a few drills had little burrs on them. My glasses stay put and I stay happy. Would order again despite the small issues.

Ordered it after seeing one a friend finished, and I get the appeal now. Finished size is just right for a standard pair of readers. I’ll be buying more from this shop. Wish it came in a larger size option. I’d recommend it with that one note.

Ordered this after seeing it on a friend’s shelf. It’s on my desk at work and people comment on it. I wish there were a larger size option. Happy with it, with a few caveats.

Bought this for my reading glasses and it’s been handy. I’ve already had several people ask where it came from. The canvas had a faint mark from the printing on one edge. The cat palette works really well with the design. Minor things, but I’d still buy it again.

Bought two so I could keep one and gift one. The case is rigid enough that I trust it in my bag. I like having something mindful to do that doesn’t need a screen. The printed chart could have been a touch larger. Good kit — the notes above are minor.

Made this for my husband’s sunglasses and he uses it constantly. Mine lives in my tote bag and has saved my sunglasses more than once. I’d have liked a slightly longer chart, but it was workable. Good enough that I’d buy another.

I picked these up as stocking stuffers and they were a hit. My glasses finally have a proper home. Only small gripe is that a few drills had little burrs on them. I’d order it again knowing what I know now.

Bought it as a starter kit for myself and it worked out great. The cat artwork is the reason I clicked. I keep one in the car and one in the house. There were slightly more drills than needed, so it took longer than planned. Would order again despite the small issues.

  10. Melba Sullivan (verified owner) –

Bought two, one for my desk and one for my purse. It keeps its shape even when empty. There was plenty of margin around the edge for a clean finish. Slightly snug for my oversized sunglasses. A peaceful project that fits into whatever time you have. I’ve already ordered more for the rest of the family. I’d order again, just knowing what to expect.

Such a clever idea – pretty and actually practical. Great value for what you get. The seam is visible if you look closely. Would buy again; the notes are minor.

A friend recommended this shop and I see why. It’s a nice conversation piece when people visit. The cord is a hair long for my frame size. Worth buying, just plan for those small quirks.

Bought it as a starter kit for myself and it worked out great. A small gift that gets used every day. It arrives with quite a bit of packaging for the size. A solid purchase with a couple of notes.

  14. Frankie Ryan (verified owner) –

I made one for my sunglasses and now I want one for every pair. Feels sturdier than the fabric cases I’ve bought before. The tray included is on the small side. I keep one at home and one in the car. Still a good kit overall.

  15. Austin F. (verified owner) –

Bought two, one for my desk and one for my purse. There were extra drills left over in every color when I finished. The drills sit nice and flush, no gaps showing the surface underneath. This is the kind of craft that’s genuinely calming after a hectic day. It sits on my nightstand and holds my glasses perfectly. The pen that came with it is a bit flimsy, I swapped in my own. Good kit overall, just a couple of small things.

  16. Miriam Simmons (verified owner) –

This is the most useful diamond art project I’ve done. I’ve gotten so many compliments on it. Took a bit longer to arrive than I expected. Would still recommend it.

  17. Samantha E. –

The size is perfect, not bulky in my bag at all. Glue coverage was even, no dry patches anywhere. Gave it to my mother-in-law as a gift and it was a big hit. A magnetic closure would have been nicer than the snap. Would order again despite the small issues.

  18. Kelly Zimmerman (verified owner) –

Really nice little project that you actually get to use afterward. My glasses don’t rattle around inside. I brought it on a week at the lake and finished most of it there. Slightly snug for my oversized sunglasses. It’s on my desk at work and people comment on it. Worth buying, just plan for those small quirks.

Bought this to do with my daughter on rainy days. The colors are true to the listing photos. Nice mindful work that keeps you present. My glasses finally have a proper home. The multi-placer tip took some practice. The cat detail is impressive up close. Would order again despite the small issues.

A small kit with a genuinely useful result. Small enough to slip into a tote without bulk. Practical and pretty, which is a rare combination. The interior could use more padding. Still a good kit overall.

  21. Tracy Ochoa –

I bought this to keep my glasses findable and it works beautifully. It looks like something from a home decor shop. Wish it came in a larger size option. Small things aside, it’s a good buy.

  22. Ora Mckenzie (verified owner) –

Really nice little project that you actually get to use afterward. The drills are bright and consistent in size, no weird off-color batches. I went with the kitty version and the colors are lovely. I work on it after dinner and it helps me switch off. The packaging was a little crushed on one corner. Happy enough that I’d buy another.

  23. Elaine Klein (verified owner) –

Ordered it after seeing one a friend finished, and I get the appeal now. The interior lining is soft and won’t scratch lenses. It’s become the quiet part of my day that I look forward to. The interior could use a bit more padding. I’d recommend it with that one note.

This was a quick finish and I’ve used it every day since. I use it every day for my reading glasses. There were slightly more drills than needed, so it took longer than planned. Minor things, but I’d still buy it again.
