Why This Dog Eyeglass Case Earns Its Place in the Bag

The subject here is a dog seated facing outward, ears relaxed, coat textured in layered strokes with the muzzle and eyes worked in finer detail, set in warm tans and creams with darker shading at the ears and back. Rather than competing for attention, the piece holds a warm and loyal tone. A dog portrait is one of the few decorations a household will keep permanently, which is why the detailing matters. It suits people who want an everyday object to look considered rather than plain. Designed for entryways and family rooms, it holds up as decor rather than as something you finish and put in a drawer. Reference Q84. The eyes are worked last and in the finest drill available — that sequence is what gives the finished portrait expression Which is a harder thing to draw than it sounds.

a dog portrait is one of the few decorations a household will keep permanently, which is why the detailing matters. That is why entryways and family rooms is where it does its best work.

The DOTZSO case kit is a practical one: a few evenings in, and a case you carry for years. The package contains the printed case panel, DOTZSO resin drills, a tray, a comfort-grip applicator pen, a wax caddy and a full pictorial guide.

A case stays in use if it handles daily carry. That is what the sealed panel and seated drills are for.

Coverage runs across the whole panel face, so nothing is left printed-only.

What’s in the Box

  • 1 × printed case panel
  • 1 × rigid case body / frame
  • DOTZSO signature resin drills, sorted by colour (with extra drills included)
  • Diamond painting tray
  • Comfort-grip applicator pen
  • Wax caddy
  • Pictorial step-by-step instructions

How to Make It

  1. Lay the printed case panel flat and let it settle before starting.
  2. Find the legend strip and match the first symbol to its drill colour.
  3. Press the pen tip into the wax caddy, then touch it to a drill – the drill lifts and stays on the tip.
  4. Set the drill onto the matching printed symbol and press lightly. Work one section at a time rather than across the whole panel.
  5. Continue until the panel is covered, then press the finished surface flat with a book for an hour to seat every drill.
  6. Seal the surface and fit the panel into the case frame once the drills are fully seated.

Complete it over a few sessions, then let the case settle into everyday use.

Frequently Asked Questions

What ships alongside the Dog eyeglass case kit?

Yes. The Dog eyeglass case kit ships complete with the case body and frame shown in the product images, plus the DOTZSO resin drills, tray, applicator pen, wax caddy and pictorial instructions. Nothing else needs sourcing. Reference Q84.

Is the Dog work fixed securely once complete?

Once the drills are seated and the surface is sealed, the Dog design holds under normal use. The rigid shell is what protects the drills in a bag, and the sealing step is the single biggest factor in how long the finish lasts. Sealing is the step that decides the Dog finish’s lifespan.

Is the Dog eyeglass case kit easy to wipe down?

Wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately. Do not submerge it or put it through a dishwasher — the adhesive layer under the drills is not built for a soak. For the Dog palette, warm tans and creams tones show dust less than pale grounds, so a light pass is usually enough. Handle the Dog piece with dry hands where possible.

Is the Dog eyeglass case kit a full-face drill design?

The panel is drilled across the whole face, so the finished case has complete coverage. The Dog artwork is drawn so that a dog seated facing outward reads clearly at any distance. The Dog design leaves nothing unworked at the margins.

How long will the Dog eyeglass case kit keep me occupied?

Roughly one to two evenings for most people, depending on the pattern density. The Dog design is warm and loyal, which tends to make it easier to work in short sessions. The Dog design is paced, not rushed.

What skill level does the Dog eyeglass case kit require?

Yes. The symbol key is printed directly on the case panel and the pictorial instructions walk through the whole process, so no prior diamond painting experience is needed. The Dog layout is warm and loyal, which helps on a first attempt. The package covers the whole project.

Got this for my mom and she uses it every single day. The adhesive is plenty sticky, the drills stay exactly where I put them. A few bags weren’t labeled as clearly as the rest. I keep it set up on a side table and do a bit whenever I have ten minutes. The colors work beautifully with the room. Would order again despite the small issues.

My third kit from this shop and still really pleased. The closure snaps shut properly and hasn’t come loose. The dog pattern is what drew me in and it didn’t disappoint. It’s the kind of project that feels creative without being stressful. Great kit, no complaints.

This was a quick finish and I’ve used it every day since. The shape holds up and hasn’t gotten squashed. Surprisingly calming, even for someone with a short attention span. I’ll be buying more from this shop. Two thumbs up.

This was exactly the kind of project I needed this month. The pen and wax worked fine, I didn’t need to dig out my own tools. The cord is a hair long for my frame size. It’s easy to lose track of time once you get going. Minor things, but I’d still buy it again.

Bought a set for the whole family since everyone loses their glasses. If this style appeals to you, it delivers. Everything I needed was in the box – pen, wax, tray and tweezers. Made one for my mother and she carries it everywhere. Exactly what I wanted.

  13. Alicia Devine (verified owner) –

These are the cutest way to keep a pair of glasses where I can see them. The colors read clearly against both my glasses frames. Symbols on the chart are printed clearly enough to follow without guessing. The repetitive motion is oddly satisfying, one of those simple pleasures. Practical and pretty, which is a rare combination. Better than I expected.

A friend wouldn’t stop talking about hers, so I finally ordered one. It’s small enough to toss in a tote without adding bulk. I did it in short bursts and it never felt rushed. Worth every penny.

Really nice little project that you actually get to use afterward. Really neat stitching where the two sides join. I’ve been doing it in the evenings with my partner, we take turns on sections. I gave one to my sister and she immediately ordered her own. Will definitely be back.

Found this while browsing and couldn’t leave without it. My glasses are finally where I can find them. The sorting tray is shallow, drills spill out if you’re not careful. Happy enough that I’d buy another.

  17. Carmen Eckert (verified owner) –

This was a birthday gift to myself and it hit the spot. The size is right for standard reading glasses. The packaging was a little crushed on one corner. The work never felt like a chore. Still a good kit overall.

Ordered these for my reading glasses and they’ve been great. The beads stay put and don’t slide down the cord. The drills were sorted into clearly marked bags, which saved a lot of time. It’s my go-to when I need a quiet evening. The puppy artwork comes together beautifully as you work. Made one for my sister and she asked for two more. Exactly what I was hoping for.

Bought it for a rainy weekend and it was exactly what I needed. The dog detail comes together really nicely once it’s finished. Really neat stitching where the two sides join. Perfect for a cozy evening in when you want to keep your hands busy. Gave one to my mom for Mother’s Day and she carries it everywhere. The seam is visible if you look closely. Good kit overall, just a couple of small things.

The size is perfect, not bulky in my bag at all. The canvas arrived flat rather than rolled tight. The finished piece looks far more expensive than the kit cost. Really happy with this one.

Ordered this as a small pick-me-up and it worked. The drills arrived clean, not stuck together in clumps. I keep one at home and one in the car. The puppy motif makes it feel special. A couple of the darker shades were hard to tell apart. I’d order it again knowing what I know now.

I ordered these after losing my glasses behind the couch for the tenth time. Everything needed to finish was in the box, nothing extra to buy. The pen and wax worked fine, I didn’t need to dig out my own tools. If you like puppy designs, this is a good example. I found the repetition genuinely calming rather than tedious. It’s a small piece that does real work. Solid choice, no regrets.
