Why This Lotus Eyeglass Case Earns Its Place in the Bag

What the design does with a lotus in full bloom floating on a still surface, petals radiating in even layers from a dense centre, a single bud beside it is the point, and soft pink and ivory petals with jade pads against a pale water blue is where the colour settles. A serene and balanced piece, in the plain sense. Lotus imagery is chosen for the mood it sets, and the symmetry is the whole point of the motif. It appeals to anyone who wants their eyewear protected by something personal. Designed for bedrooms, studios and meditation spaces, it holds up as decor rather than as something you finish and put in a drawer. Reference Q61. Lotus imagery is chosen for the mood it sets, and the symmetry is the whole point of the motif Which is the harder half of the job, and it is done here.

lotus imagery is chosen for the mood it sets, and the symmetry is the whole point of the motif. It slots into bedrooms, studios and meditation spaces because the serene palette is doing the talking.

A DOTZSO case kit is designed so the making is calm and the finished case actually goes in your bag. The box holds the printed case panel, DOTZSO resin drills, a sorting tray, a comfort-grip applicator pen, a wax caddy and illustrated instructions.

A case stays in use if it handles daily carry. That is what the sealed panel and seated drills are for.

Full drill coverage across the panel is what gives the case an even finish rather than patches of bare board.

What’s in the Box

  • 1 × printed case panel
  • 1 × rigid case body / frame
  • DOTZSO signature resin drills, sorted by colour (with extra drills included)
  • Diamond painting tray
  • Comfort-grip applicator pen
  • Wax caddy
  • Pictorial step-by-step instructions

How to Make It

  1. Lay the printed case panel flat and let it settle before starting.
  2. Find the legend strip and match the first symbol to its drill colour.
  3. Press the pen tip into the wax caddy, then touch it to a drill – the drill lifts and stays on the tip.
  4. Set the drill onto the matching printed symbol and press lightly. Work one section at a time rather than across the whole panel.
  5. Continue until the panel is covered, then press the finished surface flat with a book for an hour to seat every drill.
  6. Seal the surface and fit the panel into the case frame once the drills are fully seated.

Finish it at an easy pace, then let the case leave the house with you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the eyeglass case kit a full set or a partial one?

Yes. The Lotus eyeglass case kit ships complete with the case body and frame shown in the product images, plus the DOTZSO resin drills, tray, applicator pen, wax caddy and pictorial instructions. Nothing else needs sourcing. Reference Q61.

How durable is the finished Lotus eyeglass case kit?

Once the drills are seated and the surface is sealed, the Lotus design holds under normal use. The rigid shell is what protects the drills in a bag, and the sealing step is the single biggest factor in how long the finish lasts. Nothing about the Lotus finish is fragile once it has been sealed.

How do I protect the Lotus finish long term?

Wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately. Do not submerge it or put it through a dishwasher — the adhesive layer under the drills is not built for a soak. For the Lotus palette, soft pink and ivory petals tones show dust less than pale grounds, so a light pass is usually enough. The Lotus finish prefers dry methods to wet ones.

Is the drilling on the Lotus design continuous?

The panel is drilled across the whole face, so the finished case has complete coverage. The Lotus artwork is drawn so that a lotus in full bloom floating on a still surface reads clearly at any distance. The Lotus drilling runs the full extent of the face.

How long is the Lotus design from start to finish?

Roughly one to two evenings for most people, depending on the pattern density. The Lotus design is serene and balanced, which tends to make it easier to work in short sessions. The Lotus pattern builds up quickly once the colour blocks start.

Does the Lotus design need any training?

Yes. The symbol key is printed directly on the case panel and the pictorial instructions walk through the whole process, so no prior diamond painting experience is needed. The Lotus layout is serene and balanced, which helps on a first attempt. The package covers the whole project.

I’ve done a handful of these now and this one is up there with the best. Really neat stitching where the two sides join. The sorting tray is shallow, drills spill out if you’re not careful. I worked on this during my lunch breaks and it made the days feel better. Going to order a few more for Christmas presents. Still worth it overall.

  2. Jane Potts (verified owner) –

I finished mine in an evening and started another. Finished size is just right for a standard pair of readers. Instructions were minimal, though it’s easy enough to figure out. It was easy to pick up and put down without losing my place. The overall look is clean and cohesive. Mild quibbles, but a good purchase.

  3. Trisha Bancroft (verified owner) –

Finished it in one evening and it turned out adorable. The stitching where the sides join is neat. The sparkle on these drills is genuinely nice. Nice to have something that gets me off my phone for a while. Definitely ordering more as gifts. I wish it came in more colour options. Happy with it, with one small caveat.

I’ve made three of these now as gifts and everyone loves them. The floral detail comes together really nicely once it’s finished. There were extra drills left over in every color when I finished. A magnetic closure would have been nicer than the snap. I’ve been doing it in the evenings with my partner, we take turns on sections. Worth buying, just plan for those small quirks.

I ordered a set to match each pair of glasses I own. The colors read clearly against both my glasses frames. I wish it came in more colour options. It looks great from a distance and holds up close. Worth buying, just plan for those small quirks.

I’m not usually a craft person, but this one converted me. The case is rigid enough that I trust it in my bag. I got through it faster than I thought I would. The seam is visible if you look closely. Overall a good experience.

Perfect size for a first diamond art project. The canvas arrived flat rather than rolled tight. I do this on the porch in the summer and it’s lovely. A few drills had rough edges that needed picking off. Good kit overall, just a couple of small things.

  8. Holly Rendon (verified owner) –

Bought this for my reading glasses and it’s been handy. Really happy with the end result. The interior could use more padding. I’d order it again knowing what I know now.

My third kit from this shop and still really pleased. Glue coverage was even, no dry patches anywhere. I do a section after work with a cup of tea and it’s a nice way to unwind. It’s a charming flower piece and everyone comments on it. Wish it came in a larger size option. Great value for what you get. Worth buying, just plan for those small quirks.

  10. Emily C. –

Small enough to finish in one sitting, which I loved. The interior lining is soft, no scratches on my lenses. This is the kind of craft that’s genuinely calming after a hectic day. The bloom subject is rendered with more detail than I expected. The sorting tray is shallow, drills spill out if you’re not careful. Gave it to my sister as a gift and it was a big hit. Overall a good experience.

  11. Kevin P. (verified owner) –

I keep coming back to this shop because the quality is consistent. Glue coverage was even, no dry patches anywhere. The drills are bright and consistent in size, no weird off-color batches. Slightly snug for my oversized sunglasses. This is the kind of craft that’s genuinely calming after a hectic day. Gave one to my mom for Mother’s Day and she carries it everywhere. Good kit overall, just a couple of small things.

These make a practical thing feel like a little piece of art. It reads as a deliberate design choice, not a craft. The seam is visible up close. Worth buying, just plan for those small quirks.

This is my third order from DOTZSO and it did not disappoint. The loop holds my glasses securely without stretching out. It was easy to pick up and put down without losing my place. Perfect for keeping my glasses safe in my handbag. The adhesive picked up lint over the days I worked on it. Happy with it, with a few caveats.

Ordered on a Monday, had it by the weekend. The shape holds up well, hasn’t gotten squashed. This is the kind of craft that’s genuinely calming after a hectic day. The finished piece gets compliments from everyone who visits. If you like flower designs, this is a good one to go for. A magnetic closure would have been nicer than the snap. Would order again despite the small issues.

  17. Tracie Torres (verified owner) –

I made one for my sunglasses and now I want one for every pair. The drills came in labeled bags, which made sorting painless. I take it to my book club and work on it while we chat. I reach for it every morning for my readers. The interior could use a bit more padding. Good kit overall, just a couple of small things.

  18. Ronnie Lloyd –

This showed up right when I needed a quiet evening activity. The drills sit flush so nothing snags on the lining. It’s on my desk at work and people always comment on it. One bead was slightly off-colour from the rest. Still a solid purchase.

  19. Nikki Castillo (verified owner) –

Got this for my purse so my glasses stop floating around loose. It sits on my nightstand and gets used nightly. The closure is a little stiff at first. Still a good kit overall.

Got this for my mom and she uses it every single day. Finished size is just right for a standard pair of readers. There were extra drills left over in every color when I finished. I do it at the kitchen table while dinner simmers. Keeps my readers from getting scratched in my purse. The packaging was a little crushed on one corner. Minor things, but I’d still buy it again.

  21. Erica Olson (verified owner) –

Such a smart little kit – useful when it’s done. Finish is even and the whole thing looks tidy once you’re done. Some colors had very few spare drills. It’s a lovely quiet hobby, and I like having something to show for it at the end. My sister asked me to make her two more. Good kit overall, just a couple of small things.

These are the cutest way to keep a pair of glasses where I can see them. My glasses are finally where I can find them. I wish it came in more colour options. Good enough that I’d buy another.
