Mandala eyeglass case kit by DOTZSO — a symmetrical mandala built in concentric rings in balanced jewel tones on a deep ground so the symmetry stays legible. Working a mandala ring by ring is the most repetitive version of this craft, and the repetition is the point. It is aimed at people who would rather replace a case by making one than by buying one. The box is complete on arrival, holding the printed case panel, case body, DOTZSO resin drills, tray, pen, wax and instructions.

Why This Mandala Eyeglass Case Earns Its Place in the Bag

The Mandala motif reads as a symmetrical mandala built in concentric rings, each band moving from geometric spokes to fine petal work toward the outer edge here, cleared of clutter and coloured in balanced jewel tones on a deep ground so the symmetry stays legible. The mood is focused and meditative, and it holds. Mandala work is chosen as much for the doing as the result — the symmetry turns placement into a ritual. It is aimed at people who would rather replace a case by making one than by buying one. Designed for meditation corners and home studios, it holds up as decor rather than as something you finish and put in a drawer. Reference Q107. Mandala work is chosen as much for the doing as the result — the symmetry turns placement into a ritual Which is the harder half of the job, and it is done here.

mandala work is chosen as much for the doing as the result — the symmetry turns placement into a ritual. That is what makes it a natural fit for meditation corners and home studios rather than a statement piece.

This DOTZSO kit is for anyone who wants their eyewear case to be the one thing in the bag that is theirs. Each kit ships with the printed case panel, DOTZSO resin drills, a sorting tray, a comfort-grip pen, a wax caddy and a pictorial reference.

What makes this a working case is the finishing, not the pattern. Seat the drills fully and the surface holds.

Edge-to-edge drilling on the panel is what stops the case looking unfinished at the corners.

What’s in the Box

  • 1 × printed case panel
  • 1 × rigid case body / frame
  • DOTZSO signature resin drills, sorted by colour (with extra drills included)
  • Diamond painting tray
  • Comfort-grip applicator pen
  • Wax caddy
  • Pictorial step-by-step instructions

How to Make It

  1. Lay the printed case panel flat and let it settle before starting.
  2. Find the legend strip and match the first symbol to its drill colour.
  3. Press the pen tip into the wax caddy, then touch it to a drill – the drill lifts and stays on the tip.
  4. Set the drill onto the matching printed symbol and press lightly. Work one section at a time rather than across the whole panel.
  5. Continue until the panel is covered, then press the finished surface flat with a book for an hour to seat every drill.
  6. Seal the surface and fit the panel into the case frame once the drills are fully seated.

Go through it one section at a time, then let the finished case earn its keep.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is anything for the Mandala eyeglass case kit purchased separately?

Yes. The Mandala eyeglass case kit ships complete with the case body and frame shown in the product images, plus the DOTZSO resin drills, tray, applicator pen, wax caddy and pictorial instructions. Nothing else needs sourcing. Reference Q107.

Is the Mandala piece built to last?

Once the drills are seated and the surface is sealed, the Mandala design holds under normal use. The rigid shell is what protects the drills in a bag, and the sealing step is the single biggest factor in how long the finish lasts. Nothing in the Mandala assembly works loose under normal handling.

How should I clean the Mandala eyeglass case kit?

Wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately. Do not submerge it or put it through a dishwasher — the adhesive layer under the drills is not built for a soak. For the Mandala palette, balanced jewel tones on a deep ground so the symmetry stays legible tones show dust less than pale grounds, so a light pass is usually enough. Regular light cleaning keeps the Mandala finish crisp.

Is the whole Mandala surface drilled, or only the subject?

The panel is drilled across the whole face, so the finished case has complete coverage. The Mandala artwork is drawn so that a symmetrical mandala built in concentric rings reads clearly at any distance. That applies across the whole Mandala face.

What is the estimated build time for the Mandala design?

Roughly one to two evenings for most people, depending on the pattern density. The Mandala design is focused and meditative, which tends to make it easier to work in short sessions. There is no time pressure with the Mandala piece.

How beginner-friendly is the Mandala eyeglass case kit?

Yes. The symbol key is printed directly on the case panel and the pictorial instructions walk through the whole process, so no prior diamond painting experience is needed. The Mandala layout is focused and meditative, which helps on a first attempt. No add-ons are needed.

Small enough to finish in one sitting, which I loved. Really happy with the end result. I wish the printed legend was a little bigger. Overall a good experience.

I’m a repeat DOTZSO customer at this point and this kit did not disappoint. Really neat stitching where the two sides join. The repetitive motion is oddly satisfying, one of those simple pleasures. The interior could use a bit more padding. Gave one to my mom for Mother’s Day and she carries it everywhere. Still worth it overall.

  3. QuiltLadyQuinn (verified owner) –

Second time ordering this style, still happy with it. I’m really proud of how it turned out. The mandala subject is rendered with more detail than I expected. A magnetic closure would have been nicer than the snap. Overall a good experience.

  4. Chase Bowling (verified owner) –

This was a practical pick and it turned out pretty too. Everything was bagged and labeled, so setup took five minutes. One color had a couple of misshapen drills, but spares covered it. I kept it by the window and worked on it in the afternoons. Made one for my mother and she carries it everywhere. Worth buying, just plan for those small quirks.

  5. Inez Schaefer (verified owner) –

Bought two, one for my desk and one for my purse. The hardware is sturdy enough for daily handling. It’s become one of my favorite things in the house. One bead was slightly off-colour from the rest. Worth buying, just plan for those small quirks.

  6. Nathaniel Ledbetter (verified owner) –

Small enough to finish in one sitting, which I loved. Everything was bagged and labeled, so setup took five minutes. The kit came with a comfortable pen and enough wax for the whole project. Keeps my hands busy during long flights and hotel evenings. Shipping took a few days longer than I expected. It’s the most useful thing I’ve made in a while. Still a good kit overall.

  7. Ken Wise (verified owner) –

Such an easy kit to get going with. If this style appeals to you, it delivers. Shipping took a bit longer than the estimate. The adhesive held well across several weeks of working on it. This is the kind of craft that’s genuinely calming after a hectic day. Small issues, but nothing that would stop me ordering again.

Found this while browsing and couldn’t leave without it. The size is right for standard reading glasses. Shipping took a bit longer than the estimate. It’s practical and it looks nice, which is a rare combination. Happy with it, with one small caveat.

  9. Johnathan Beebe (verified owner) –

My sister got me into these and this is my latest one. The case is rigid enough to trust in a bag. I did most of it over a lazy weekend and enjoyed every minute. The closure is stiff for the first few days. Good enough that I’d buy another.

  10. Corinne Blackburn (verified owner) –

These are the cutest way to keep a pair of glasses where I can see them. The closure snaps securely and hasn’t loosened. I did this with my friend on the weekends and we both got into it. I’ll be buying more from this shop. The artwork looks even better in person than the photos. The multi-placer tip took some practice. I’d order again, just knowing what to expect.

  11. Roberto Flint (verified owner) –

I ordered these after losing my glasses behind the couch for the tenth time. It’s on my desk at work and people always comment on it. The mandala-style motif is what drew me in. The included pen wore out partway through. Worth it, just go in with the right expectations.

  12. Charlie Fleming (verified owner) –

I finished mine in an evening and started another. Glue coverage was even, no dry patches anywhere. The closure is stiff for the first few days. I put on an audiobook and worked through it in a few sittings. Overall a good experience.

  13. Stephanie C. (verified owner) –

The size is perfect, not bulky in my bag at all. The interior lining is soft, no scratches on my lenses. It’s a lovely quiet hobby, and I like having something to show for it at the end. Wish it came in a larger size option. I’ll be buying more from this shop. Worth buying, just plan for those small quirks.

  14. Charles Waters (verified owner) –

The size is perfect, not bulky in my bag at all. The connection points feel solid, not glued and fragile. The packaging was a little plain for a gift. I kept it by the window and worked on it in the afternoons. My friends all want one now. I’d order again, just knowing what to expect.

  15. Gina Calloway (verified owner) –

I picked this up on a whim and ended up really enjoying it. The stitching where the sides join is neat. There was plenty of margin around the edge for a clean finish. A magnetic closure would have been nicer than the snap. I like that it’s creative without requiring any decisions. The colors work beautifully with the room. Overall a good experience.

I bought it because I’m always losing my readers and it’s been great. I reach for it every morning for my readers. A magnetic closure would be nicer than the snap. Worth it despite the small things.

  17. Duane Mcdowell –

Bought two so I could keep one and gift one. Drill colors are well separated, no squinting to tell two shades apart. Took me a while to get the hang of the multi-placer tip. I keep it by my chair and pick it up whenever I have a few minutes. Good enough that I’d buy another.

I’ve been doing these for about a year and this is a solid kit. The case is rigid enough that I trust it in my bag. I did most of it over a lazy weekend and enjoyed every minute. I wish there were a larger size option. Practical and pretty, which is rare in a craft. Worth it despite the small things.

The size is perfect, not bulky in my bag at all. Finished size is just right for a standard pair of readers. The seam is visible if you look closely. I love how the mandala-style colors turned out. Really relaxing to do in the evening instead of scrolling. Happy enough that I’d buy another.

Ordered two kits, this was the one I finished first. Holds its shape nicely, doesn’t collapse when empty. I work on it while listening to an audiobook and the time just disappears. The loop is snug on thicker frames. The mandala subject matter is right up my street. Worth it, just go in with the right expectations.

Came across this while looking for craft ideas and bought it that day. If this style appeals to you, it delivers. The fit is snug enough that glasses don’t rattle around. I brought it on a weekend trip and finished most of it there. Some colors came with barely any extras, though I didn’t run out. Small issues, but nothing that would stop me ordering again.

Came across this while looking for craft ideas and bought it that day. Really neat stitching where the two sides join. Gave these as stocking stuffers and they were a hit. There were slightly more drills than needed, so it took longer than planned. A solid purchase with a couple of notes.
