Why This Tree Eyeglass Case Earns Its Place in the Bag

This Tree piece was drawn around a single broad-canopied tree standing alone, trunk textured with vertical bark strokes and foliage built in clustered masses, then coloured in muted sage and olive green with warm brown bark against a soft cream ground. It keeps a still and grounding note from edge to edge. A single tree is the simplest landscape motif and the easiest to live with, which is why it stays in print. It is for people who would rather their eyewear case be distinctive than invisible. Designed for living rooms and hallways, it holds up as decor rather than as something you finish and put in a drawer. Reference Q73. A single tree is the simplest landscape motif and the easiest to live with, which is why it stays in print It is also why the piece keeps working after the novelty fades.

a single tree is the simplest landscape motif and the easiest to live with, which is why it stays in print. That is what lets it hold living rooms and hallways together with a single still accent.

DOTZSO assembles these kits so the process stays restful and the result is genuinely practical. The package contains the printed case panel, DOTZSO resin drills, a tray, a comfort-grip applicator pen, a wax caddy and a full pictorial guide.

The case panel is the part that matters. It is built to take knocks in a bag, so the drilled surface is seated properly and the panel holds its shape rather than flexing.

The pattern is drilled across the entire panel, so the case looks the same whichever way it faces.

What’s in the Box

  • 1 × printed case panel
  • 1 × rigid case body / frame
  • DOTZSO signature resin drills, sorted by colour (with extra drills included)
  • Diamond painting tray
  • Comfort-grip applicator pen
  • Wax caddy
  • Pictorial step-by-step instructions

How to Make It

  1. Lay the printed case panel flat and let it settle before starting.
  2. Find the legend strip and match the first symbol to its drill colour.
  3. Press the pen tip into the wax caddy, then touch it to a drill – the drill lifts and stays on the tip.
  4. Set the drill onto the matching printed symbol and press lightly. Work one section at a time rather than across the whole panel.
  5. Continue until the panel is covered, then press the finished surface flat with a book for an hour to seat every drill.
  6. Seal the surface and fit the panel into the case frame once the drills are fully seated.

Finish it at an easy pace, then let the case leave the house with you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the eyeglass case kit pictured the exact configuration that ships?

Yes. The Tree eyeglass case kit ships complete with the case body and frame shown in the product images, plus the DOTZSO resin drills, tray, applicator pen, wax caddy and pictorial instructions. Nothing else needs sourcing. Reference Q73.

How well does the Tree design survive handling?

Once the drills are seated and the surface is sealed, the Tree design holds under normal use. The rigid shell is what protects the drills in a bag, and the sealing step is the single biggest factor in how long the finish lasts. The sealing step at the end is what locks it in.

Can the Tree eyeglass case kit get wet?

Wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately. Do not submerge it or put it through a dishwasher — the adhesive layer under the drills is not built for a soak. For the Tree palette, muted sage and olive green tones show dust less than pale grounds, so a light pass is usually enough. The Tree surface is not built for immersion.

Does the Tree design have any unworked areas?

The panel is drilled across the whole face, so the finished case has complete coverage. The Tree artwork is drawn so that a single broad-canopied tree standing alone reads clearly at any distance. The Tree piece has a uniform drilled finish.

Does the Tree eyeglass case kit work well as an ongoing project?

Roughly one to two evenings for most people, depending on the pattern density. The Tree design is still and grounding, which tends to make it easier to work in short sessions. It works well as an ongoing project.

How easy is the Tree eyeglass case kit for someone new?

Yes. The symbol key is printed directly on the case panel and the pictorial instructions walk through the whole process, so no prior diamond painting experience is needed. The Tree layout is still and grounding, which helps on a first attempt. There is nothing missing from the box.

This was my first diamond painting kit and I’m officially hooked. The adhesive is plenty sticky, the drills stay exactly where I put them. The interior could use a bit more padding. I brought it on a week at the lake and finished most of it there. It sits on my nightstand and holds my glasses perfectly. Would order again despite the small issues.

Honestly better quality than I expected for the price. The pen and wax worked fine, I didn’t need to dig out my own tools. The sorting tray is shallow, drills spill out if you’re not careful. Great way to slow down at the end of a busy day. Worth buying, just plan for those small quirks.

  3. Steven Blankenship (verified owner) –

This was a practical pick and it turned out pretty too. Packaging was tidy and nothing had spilled in transit. I listened to a podcast and the time went by without noticing. Instructions were pretty minimal, though there are plenty of tutorials online. I’d recommend it with that one note.

  4. Jordan Curry –

This was a quick finish and I’ve used it every day since. It’s become part of my daily routine. The multi-placer tip took some practice. I’d order it again knowing what I know now.

Small enough to finish in one sitting, which I loved. Really nice little gift that people actually use. The interior could use a bit more padding. Still worth it overall.

This was my first diamond painting kit and I’m officially hooked. The closure snaps securely and hasn’t loosened. Already ordered another one from DOTZSO. I wish there were a larger size option. Overall a good experience.

  7. Shaun Hubbard (verified owner) –

Picked this up because I wanted a hobby that didn’t involve a screen. The shape holds up well, hasn’t gotten squashed. One bag of drills had come open in transit. Everyone who sees it asks how long it took. Minor quibbles aside, I’d buy it again.

  8. Jason Carter (verified owner) –

Ordered two of these and gave one away as a gift. The piece is light enough that I forget I’m wearing it. Some colors came with barely any extras, though I didn’t run out. I settled into a rhythm after the first section. Happy enough that I’d buy another.

This was my first diamond painting kit and I’m officially hooked. I keep one in the car and one in the house. There were slightly more drills than needed, so it took longer than planned. I’d recommend it with that one note.

Got this for my mom and she uses it every single day. The connection points feel solid, not glued and fragile. Nice mindful project – you can’t think about much else while you’re placing drills. The interior could use a bit more padding. My glasses are finally where I can find them. Worth buying, just plan for those small quirks.

Such an easy kit to get going with. It sits on my nightstand and gets used nightly. The wax ran out before I finished and I had to use my own. Mild quibbles, but a good purchase.

  12. Larry E. (verified owner) –

This is the most useful diamond art project I’ve done. Finished size is just right for a standard pair of readers. I keep it set up on a side table and do a bit whenever I have ten minutes. The wax ran out before I finished and I had to use my own. I’d recommend it with that one note.

Bought two, one for my desk and one for my purse. The shape holds up well, hasn’t gotten squashed. Nice mindful project – you can’t think about much else while you’re placing drills. The closure is a little stiff at first. Still worth it overall.

Picked this up during a sale and it was money well spent. The interior lining is soft, no scratches on my lenses. The closure is a little stiff at first. It’s become my evening ritual – an hour of this and I feel settled. Small issues, but nothing that would stop me ordering again.

Ordered two of these and gave one away as a gift. Gave one to my mom for Mother’s Day and she carries it everywhere. The tray included is on the small side. Would order again despite the small issues.

Got this for my mom and she uses it every single day. Mine lives in my tote bag and has saved my sunglasses more than once. The seam is visible up close. Happy with it, with a few caveats.

  17. Tommie Sharp (verified owner) –

Small enough to finish in one sitting, which I loved. Packaging was tidy and nothing had spilled in transit. I worked on this during my lunch breaks and it made the days feel better. A magnetic closure would be nicer than the snap. Would order again despite the small issues.

  18. Lillian Harvey (verified owner) –

Honestly better quality than I expected for the price. Extra drills were included for every color, which I appreciated. The drills sit nice and flush, no gaps showing the surface underneath. It’s a good way to slow down at the end of the day. Perfect for keeping my glasses safe in my handbag. A magnetic closure would be nicer than the snap. Overall a good experience.

  19. Jermaine Rhodes (verified owner) –

These make really thoughtful little gifts. The drills sit flush so nothing snags on the lining. A little snug for oversized frames. Really calming, repetitive work, and satisfying when a section is finished. It’s on my desk at work and people comment on it. Happy with it, with a few caveats.

These make really thoughtful little gifts. It’s the kind of project you feel good about finishing. The sorting tray is shallow, drills spill out if you’re not careful. A solid purchase with a couple of notes.

Such a clever idea – pretty and actually practical. The drills sit flush so nothing snags on the lining. Great way to slow down at the end of a busy day. Gave these as stocking stuffers and they were a hit. A few bags weren’t labeled as clearly as the rest. I’d order again, just knowing what to expect.

  23. Bryce Hubbard (verified owner) –

I’ve had my eye on this design since last season. Symbols on the chart are printed clearly enough to follow without guessing. Colors match the listing photo really closely. A peaceful project that fits into whatever time you have. Made these as stocking stuffers for the whole family. A magnetic closure would have been nicer than the snap. Good enough that I’d buy another.

  24. Curtis Strong –

Got this for my purse so my glasses stop floating around loose. Everything felt well made, from the tools to the drills. A really enjoyable way to pass a rainy afternoon. Slightly snug for my oversized sunglasses. Gave one to my mom for Mother’s Day and she carries it everywhere. Good enough that I’d buy another.

So glad I added this one to my cart. It’s small enough to toss in a tote without adding bulk. The interior could use more padding. It fits perfectly with the decor in the den. Good kit overall, just a couple of small things.
