Why This Elephant Set Earns Its Place on the Table

The Elephant artwork on this canvas frames an elephant shown in three-quarter view, ears spread wide, hide rendered in layered creases across the flank and trunk, worked in warm grey and dusty blue with a pale ochre ground. The overall character is steady and dignified rather than theatrical. Elephant motifs carry a calm, grounded feel that suits rooms with heavy furniture and warm wood. It is designed for regular use in a busy house, not occasional display. Designed for living rooms and hallways, it holds up as decor rather than as something you finish and put in a drawer. elephant motifs carry a calm, grounded feel that suits rooms with heavy furniture and warm wood. Hung in living rooms and hallways, the steady palette does the work and the artwork stays understated.

Every DOTZSO diamond painting kit is built for people who want the make to feel calm and the result to be something they actually use. Contents: colour-printed canvas, DOTZSO resin drills, sorting tray, comfort-grip pen, wax caddy and illustrated step-by-step instructions.

The construction is deliberately simple: anti-slip body, cork backing, seated drill surface. That combination is what keeps the set out of a drawer.

The set runs to 6 coasters, each on the same cork-backed base for a consistent feel in the hand.

  • DOTZSO signature resin drills, sorted by colour (with extra drills included)
  • Diamond painting tray
  • Comfort-grip applicator pen
  • Wax caddy

How to Make It

  1. Unroll the canvas on a flat surface and let it settle under something weighted if it has been rolled tight.
  2. Find the legend strip and match the first symbol to its drill colour.
  3. Press the pen tip into the wax caddy, then touch it to a drill – the drill lifts and stays on the tip.
  4. Set the drill onto the matching printed symbol and press lightly. Work one coaster at a time rather than moving across the whole set.
  5. Complete all coasters, then press each finished surface flat with a book for an hour to seat every drill.
  6. Finally, leave the set on the table for a few hours before first use so the drills settle fully.

Complete the set over a few quiet evenings, then put it to work — these are made to be handled.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Elephant coaster set cover everything from start to finish?

Yes. The Elephant coaster set ships complete with the stand shown in the product images, so the coasters have somewhere to live when they are not in use, plus the DOTZSO resin drills, tray, applicator pen, wax caddy and pictorial instructions. Nothing else needs sourcing. Reference BD600.

Will the drills stay put on the Elephant design with daily handling?

Once the drills are seated and the surface is sealed, the Elephant design holds under normal use. The cork-backed base is what stops condensation reaching the table, and the sealing step is the single biggest factor in how long the finish lasts. The Elephant piece is robust once the final pass is complete.

Is the Elephant coaster set dishwasher safe?

Wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately. Do not submerge them or put them through a dishwasher — the adhesive layer under the drills is not built for a soak. For the Elephant palette, warm grey and dusty blue tones show dust less than pale grounds, so a light pass is usually enough. The Elephant surface cleans up with minimal effort.

Is every part of the Elephant design drilled?

The drilled finish and palette are matched across the whole set, but each coaster carries its own printed motif. The Elephant artwork is drawn so that an elephant shown in three-quarter view reads clearly at any distance. Nothing on the Elephant face is left as plain surface.

Does the Elephant project suit short sittings?

Roughly 30 to 45 minutes each for most people, so a full set is a few evenings rather than one sitting. The Elephant design is steady and dignified, which tends to make it easier to work in short sessions. The Elephant design suits working one colour block at a time.

What would a beginner find tricky on the Elephant design?

Yes. The symbol key is printed directly on the cork-backed base and the pictorial instructions walk through the whole process, so no prior diamond painting experience is needed. The Elephant layout is steady and dignified, which helps on a first attempt. The kit includes everything needed to start.

Ordered on a Monday, had it by the weekend. Gave a set to my neighbor as a housewarming gift and she loved them. The edges could be sealed a bit better for daily use. I’d recommend it with that one note.

Really nice kit, especially for the money. The elephant design is even prettier in person than in the photos. Each coaster is a good thickness and feels sturdy in the hand. I’ve been doing it in the evenings with my partner, we take turns on sections. Happy customer here.

  3. Grace B. (verified owner) –

Perfect little kit – not overwhelming like a full canvas. The drills sit nice and flush, no gaps showing the surface underneath. Keeps my hands busy during long flights and hotel evenings. The elephant pattern is what drew me in and it didn’t disappoint. Exactly what I was hoping for.

  4. Lauren B. –

Such a fun format – one coaster at a time, no big commitment. The cork keeps them from sticking to the table when there’s condensation. If you like elephant designs, this is a good one to go for. I set it up next to the window and do a few rows whenever the light is good. Everyone who comes over picks one up to look at it. Took a bit longer to arrive than I expected. Overall a good experience.

Ordered two kits, this was the one I finished first. The drills have a nice sparkle to them, not dull or flat. Great way to slow down at the end of a busy day. It’s the kind of project you feel good about finishing. Definitely recommend giving it a try.

I’m a repeat DOTZSO customer at this point and this kit did not disappoint. Nice thickness – not the flimsy cardboard kind. I work on it while listening to an audiobook and the time just disappears. I bring them out for guests and always get asked about them. Exactly what I was hoping for.

These are my go-to when I want a small craft that still feels rewarding. They look lovely stacked in the holder on the coffee table. The pen that came with it is a bit flimsy, I swapped in my own. Minor things, but I’d still buy it again.

Was looking for a small diamond art project and these nailed it. They’re a hit whenever we have people over. I picked the elephant version and the colors are lovely. The holder doesn’t match the coasters exactly in finish. Still a solid purchase.

I do these while dinner is in the oven. Great little time filler. The drills are bright and consistent in size, no weird off-color batches. The drill shapes were clean, not many chipped or stuck-together pieces. This is the kind of craft that’s genuinely calming after a hectic day. Everyone who comes over picks one up to look at it. Can’t wait to start the next one.

Ordered two so my sister and I could work on them side by side. The sparkle on these drills is genuinely nice. The pen that came with it is a bit flimsy, I swapped in my own. The process was straightforward enough to do while chatting. I’d order it again knowing what I know now.

Bought it to have something to look forward to after work. My friends all want one now. The canvas had a faint mark from the printing on one edge. I’d order it again knowing what I know now.

Ordered on a Monday, had it by the weekend. Colors match the listing photo really closely. I worked on this during my lunch breaks and it made the days feel better. Everyone who comes over picks one up to look at it. Would make a great gift too.

I made one the first night just to see how it went, then did the rest over the week. The finished piece gets compliments from everyone who visits. The included pen wore out partway through. Minor gripes aside, I’d buy it again.

Our old coasters were scratched up, so this was an easy upgrade. Going to order a few more for Christmas presents. A few bags weren’t labeled as clearly as the rest. Good kit — the notes above are minor.

Perfect little kit – not overwhelming like a full canvas. They’re sized well for a standard mug and a wider tumbler too. The finished work looks considered, not like a craft project. I’d order this again.

Arrived well packed and ready to start. All eight coasters came out the same size, which isn’t always the case. It’s a slow, quiet hobby and I like that about it. They’ve survived a house full of guests without a mark. This shop has a repeat customer in me.

These are the first coasters I’ve made and I’m sold on the format. They wipe clean easily, which matters with coffee and kids around. I did a little at a time and it never felt like a slog. Solid choice, no regrets.

I bought this to have something to look forward to after work. The packaging kept everything organized and undamaged. Everything was bagged and labeled, so setup took five minutes. Nice mindful project – you can’t think about much else while you’re placing drills. It reads as a deliberate design choice, not a craft. The wax ran low before I finished the last section. Overall a good experience.

Bought these for our patio table and they look charming. Colors matched the numbers exactly, so there was no guessing. The drills sit nice and flush, no gaps showing the surface underneath. A really enjoyable way to pass a rainy afternoon. They’re on the coffee table and get used every day. A great addition to my collection.

Really nice kit, especially for the money. The holder is sturdy enough that I actually keep them in it. It was easy to pick up and put down without losing my place. A few drills were stuck together and needed separating. A useful gift that people actually keep out. Still a good kit overall.

Bought a set as a hostess gift and kept a set for myself. The holder fits all 6 pieces neatly, keeps them from getting lost. The elephant detail comes together really nicely once it’s finished. Really relaxing to do in the evening instead of scrolling. The holder doesn’t match the coasters exactly in finish. Happy with it, with a few caveats.

Nice mindful work that keeps you present. They’ve survived a house full of guests without a mark. Solid kit, would order again.

I like having a small kit that doesn’t take a month. The drills sit flush, so glasses don’t wobble on top. I do this while listening to music and the time disappears. They’ve become the thing people notice first in the living room. Will be back for more.

Really nice kit, especially for the money. Cork base means no scratches on our wood table, which I was worried about. It’s the kind of project that feels creative without being stressful. They’re practical enough to actually use, which is the point. The elephant artwork is the reason I clicked. Happy with this one.

My third kit from this shop and still really pleased. They’re a nice size for a standard mug, and even a wider tumbler fits. The elephant subject is rendered with more detail than I expected. Perfect for winding down before bed, much better than watching another show. Really happy with the end result. I’ll be ordering more.

Bought these for our patio table and they look charming. Plenty of margin around the edges for framing or trimming. I’ve been doing it in the evenings with my partner, we take turns on sections. There were slightly more drills than needed, so it took longer than planned. It’s the kind of thing people ask about when they see it. Happy with it despite the small stuff.

Bought a set to use at our lake house and ended up making all eight. The wax and pen that came with it worked fine right out of the box. The elephant pattern is what made me choose this one. The backing held up fine and didn’t peel anywhere. One of the 6 coasters had a slightly off-center print. I keep it set up on a side table and do a bit whenever I have ten minutes.
