Why This Santa Claus Set Earns Its Place on the Table

A Santa Claus study built on a full Santa portrait with a layered beard, structured hat and fur trim, framed in a decorative border. The palette stays in cherry red, snow white and antique gold on a warm neutral ground, and the piece keeps a warm and traditional register throughout. Santa is the single most recognisable figure in holiday decor — the design does not need to explain itself. It is designed for regular use in a busy house, not occasional display. Designed for December hosting and holiday gifting, it holds up as decor rather than as something you finish and put in a drawer. Reference BD592. santa is the single most recognisable figure in holiday decor — the design does not need to explain itself. That is the part that matters most here.

santa is the single most recognisable figure in holiday decor — the design does not need to explain itself. That makes it straightforward to place in December hosting and holiday gifting, where the warm tone already fits.

Every DOTZSO diamond painting kit is built for people who want the make to feel calm and the result to be something they actually use. Contents: colour-printed canvas, DOTZSO resin drills, sorting tray, comfort-grip pen, wax caddy and illustrated step-by-step instructions.

The construction is deliberately simple: anti-slip body, cork backing, seated drill surface. That combination is what keeps the set out of a drawer.

The set runs to 6 coasters, each on the same cork-backed base for a consistent feel in the hand.

  • DOTZSO signature resin drills, sorted by colour (with extra drills included)
  • Diamond painting tray
  • Comfort-grip applicator pen
  • Wax caddy

How to Make It

  1. Unroll the canvas on a flat surface and let it settle under something weighted if it has been rolled tight.
  2. Find the legend strip and match the first symbol to its drill colour.
  3. Press the pen tip into the wax caddy, then touch it to a drill – the drill lifts and stays on the tip.
  4. Set the drill onto the matching printed symbol and press lightly. Work one coaster at a time rather than moving across the whole set.
  5. Complete all coasters, then press each finished surface flat with a book for an hour to seat every drill.
  6. Finally, leave the set on the table for a few hours before first use so the drills settle fully.

Complete the set over a few quiet evenings, then put it to work — these are made to be handled.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Santa coaster set one purchase, or several?

Yes. The Santa coaster set ships complete with the stand shown in the product images, so the coasters have somewhere to live when they are not in use, plus the DOTZSO resin drills, tray, applicator pen, wax caddy and pictorial instructions. Nothing else needs sourcing. Reference BD592.

Will the Santa surface shed drills over time?

Once the drills are seated and the surface is sealed, the Santa design holds under normal use. The cork-backed base is what stops condensation reaching the table, and the sealing step is the single biggest factor in how long the finish lasts. Treat it as a normal household item and it behaves like one.

Does the Santa piece require any upkeep?

Wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately. Do not submerge them or put them through a dishwasher — the adhesive layer under the drills is not built for a soak. For the Santa palette, muted terracotta, dusty blue and soft graphite resolved against an off-white ground tones show dust less than pale grounds, so a light pass is usually enough. A dry, soft cloth handles the routine dusting.

Is the Santa design worked edge to edge?

The drilled finish and palette are matched across the whole set, but each coaster carries its own printed motif. The Santa artwork is drawn so that overlapping colour fields drifting across the canvas reads clearly at any distance. The Santa pattern carries to the outer edge.

How many hours does the Santa coaster set represent?

Roughly 30 to 45 minutes each for most people, so a full set is a few evenings rather than one sitting. The Santa design is modern and understated, which tends to make it easier to work in short sessions. Plan the Santa piece around several sittings.

Would I manage the Santa design with no experience?

Yes. The symbol key is printed directly on the cork-backed base and the pictorial instructions walk through the whole process, so no prior diamond painting experience is needed. The Santa layout is modern and understated, which helps on a first attempt. Everything required is in the pack.

  1. Grace M. (verified owner) –

Perfect little kit – not overwhelming like a full canvas. The edges are finished cleanly, no rough spots. The pen and wax worked fine, I didn’t need to dig out my own tools. I found it really peaceful to focus on one small area at a time. They sit by the coffee maker and get used constantly. The sorting tray is shallow, drills spill out if you’re not careful. Overall a good experience.

Perfect little kit – not overwhelming like a full canvas. The drills are bright and consistent in size, no weird off-color batches. Great way to slow down at the end of a busy day. Finished piece looks even better in person than in the listing photos. A couple of the darker shades were hard to tell apart in low light. Overall a good experience.

I’m a repeat DOTZSO customer at this point and this kit did not disappoint. The pen and wax worked fine, I didn’t need to dig out my own tools. The holder is a little loose, the coasters rattle when you move it. I’ve been doing it in the evenings with my partner, we take turns on sections. The holiday subject is rendered with more detail than I expected. Minor things, but I’d still buy it again.

I don’t usually leave reviews but this one deserved it. Great housewarming gift, small and thoughtful. The holder is a little loose, the coasters rattle when you move it. Worth buying, just plan for those small quirks.

These are my go-to when I want a small craft that still feels rewarding. There were extra drills left over in every color when I finished. They look lovely stacked in the holder on the coffee table. One of the 6 coasters had a slightly off-center print. Would order again despite the small issues.

  6. Valeria Ross (verified owner) –

Small enough to take along on a trip. The backing held up fine and didn’t peel anywhere. I gave a set to a friend and she uses them constantly. I’d have liked a few more spare drills in the pale colors. Minor quibbles aside, I’d buy it again.

Was looking for a small diamond art project and these nailed it. The edges are smooth, so nothing catches on a cloth when I wipe them. No missing colors and nothing short in the high-use shades. It’s a calm, repetitive hobby and that’s exactly what I wanted. I wish the instructions went into a bit more detail for a first-timer. Very pleased with how it came together. Mild quibbles, but a good purchase.

  8. Jim Chapman (verified owner) –

I picked these up to add something handmade to the coffee table. The release paper peeled back cleanly without tearing. The adhesive picked up lint over the days I worked on it. Finished piece looks even better in person than in the listing photos. Small things aside, it’s a good buy.

  9. Theo Ledbetter (verified owner) –

Small enough to take along on a trip. All eight coasters came out the same size, which isn’t always the case. The symbols on the chart were easy to follow from start to finish. I kept it by the window and worked on it in the afternoons. The holiday pattern is what made me choose this one. They’re a bit smaller than I pictured for a large tumbler. They fit a standard mug or glass without overhang. Would buy again; the notes are minor.

Such a nice little project to have on the go. Colors match the listing photo really closely. I did this with my aunt on the weekends and we both got into it. Great value for what you get. I wish the printed legend was a little bigger. Happy with it, with a few caveats.

This one caught my eye and I’m glad it did. It’s a lovely take on a holiday design. The finish on each coaster is consistent across the set. The process was straightforward enough to do while chatting. The edges could be sealed a bit better for daily use. Happy enough that I’d buy another.

Ordered two kits, this was the one I finished first. The base is thick enough that they don’t feel flimsy. One of the 6 coasters had a slightly off-center print. It’s the kind of thing guests notice right away. Minor things, but I’d still buy it again.

I ordered these for the living room and they look intentional. The finish on each coaster matched the others exactly. It’s easy to pick up and put down, which suits my schedule. The sorting tray is shallow, drills spill out if you’re not careful. Would buy again; the notes are minor.

So glad I added this one to my cart. The cork base means no scratches on our wood table. Glue coverage was even, no dry patches anywhere. Really soothing to focus on one small area at a time. A useful gift that people actually keep out. The holder finish doesn’t quite match the coasters. Still a solid purchase.

These were a nice little project to knock out over a week. The holder is sturdy enough that I actually keep them in it. I gave a set to a friend and she uses them constantly. Some colors had very few spare drills. Would still recommend it.

I keep a set going on the kitchen counter. Symbols on the chart are printed clearly enough to follow without guessing. I worked on this with my mother and we both got absorbed in it. Instructions were pretty minimal, though there are plenty of tutorials online. I bring them out for guests and always get asked about them. I’d recommend it with that one note.

These are the perfect size to actually finish. No missing colors and nothing short in the high-use shades. Instructions were minimal, though it’s easy enough to figure out. It’s my screen-free hour in the evening. Finished piece looks even better in person than in the listing photos. I’d order again, just knowing what to expect.

Perfect little kit – not overwhelming like a full canvas. The cork backing keeps them from sliding and protects the table. I worked on this with my mother and we both got absorbed in it. They look great on the sideboard and are genuinely useful. The edges could be sealed a little better for daily use. Good kit overall, just a couple of small things.

  20. Joshua R. –

I picked this up on a whim and ended up really enjoying it. Finish is even and the whole thing looks tidy once you’re done. The holiday palette is softer in person, which I actually prefer. I keep it set up on a side table and do a bit whenever I have ten minutes. Took me a while to get the hang of the multi-placer tip. Worth buying, just plan for those small quirks.

Got a set for the office and they dress up my desk. Nice thickness – not the flimsy cardboard kind. Great for unwinding after a busy week. I’d prefer slightly thicker cork on the base. The festive palette works really well with the design. It’s earned a spot on the wall. Minor things, but I’d still buy it again.

I do these while dinner is in the oven. Great little time filler. Each coaster is a solid thickness and feels durable. I work on it while listening to an audiobook and the time just disappears. The canvas had a faint mark from the printing on one edge. Made a set for my book club and everyone wanted the link. Minor things, but I’d still buy it again.

I’ve tried a few brands and this one holds up well. Nothing arrived damaged, and everything was sealed properly. I picked the holiday version and the colors are lovely. I work on it while listening to an audiobook and the time just disappears. Gave it to my sister as a gift and it was a big hit. A couple of the darker shades were hard to tell apart in low light. Good kit overall, just a couple of small things.

Really nice kit, especially for the money. The thickness makes them feel like real coasters, not craft foam. The printed chart could have been a touch larger. Using them on the patio table and they’ve held up fine. Minor quibbles aside, I’d buy it again.

I’ve been doing these for about a year and this is a solid kit. The drills are uniform and sit flat with no gaps. The drills arrived clean, not stuck together in clumps. One coaster had a marginally off-center print. Great way to slow down at the end of a busy day. I went with the festive version and the colors are lovely. We actually use them every day, not just display them. Overall a good experience.
