Why This Architecture Set Earns Its Place on the Table

Here the Architecture motif is built around a composed architectural view with structured forms, balanced openings and clean edges against a plain sky, carried by warm neutral stone tones with strong shadow contrast against pale sky. The result reads as ordered and poised — considered rather than busy. Architectural pieces suit offices and modern rooms where a scene would feel too soft. It is for makers who prefer a project with an obvious job at the end. Designed for offices and modern interiors, it holds up as decor rather than as something you finish and put in a drawer. Reference BD476. The shadow sides are worked in a distinct grey, which is what gives the forms their solidity.

architectural pieces suit offices and modern rooms where a scene would feel too soft. Hung in offices and modern interiors, the ordered palette does the work and the artwork stays understated.

Every DOTZSO diamond painting kit is built for people who want the make to feel calm and the result to be something they actually use. Contents: colour-printed canvas, DOTZSO resin drills, sorting tray, comfort-grip pen, wax caddy and illustrated step-by-step instructions.

The construction is deliberately simple: anti-slip body, cork backing, seated drill surface. That combination is what keeps the set out of a drawer.

The set runs to 8 coasters, each on the same cork-backed base for a consistent feel in the hand.

What’s in the Box

  • 8 × anti-slip coaster with cork-backed base
  • 1 × display holder / stand
  • DOTZSO signature resin drills, sorted by colour (with extra drills included)
  • Diamond painting tray
  • Comfort-grip applicator pen
  • Wax caddy
  • Pictorial step-by-step instructions

How to Make It

  1. Unroll the canvas on a flat surface and let it settle under something weighted if it has been rolled tight.
  2. Find the legend strip and match the first symbol to its drill colour.
  3. Press the pen tip into the wax caddy, then touch it to a drill – the drill lifts and stays on the tip.
  4. Set the drill onto the matching printed symbol and press lightly. Work one coaster at a time rather than moving across the whole set.
  5. Complete all coasters, then press each finished surface flat with a book for an hour to seat every drill.
  6. Finally, leave the set on the table for a few hours before first use so the drills settle fully.

Complete the set over a few quiet evenings, then put it to work — these are made to be handled.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the coaster set complete as pictured, or are parts extra?

Yes. The Architecture coaster set ships complete with the stand shown in the product images, so the coasters have somewhere to live when they are not in use, plus the DOTZSO resin drills, tray, applicator pen, wax caddy and pictorial instructions. Nothing else needs sourcing. Reference BD476.

Is the Architecture coaster set built to be handled, or is it delicate?

Once the drills are seated and the surface is sealed, the Architecture design holds under normal use. The cork-backed base is what stops condensation reaching the table, and the sealing step is the single biggest factor in how long the finish lasts. Sealing properly is the whole of the maintenance story here.

What products are safe on the Architecture finish?

Wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately. Do not submerge them or put them through a dishwasher — the adhesive layer under the drills is not built for a soak. For the Architecture palette, warm neutral stone tones tones show dust less than pale grounds, so a light pass is usually enough. Nothing abrasive should touch the Architecture surface.

Is the drill pattern on the Architecture coaster set complete or selective?

The drilled finish and palette are matched across the whole set, but each coaster carries its own printed motif. The Architecture artwork is drawn so that a composed architectural view with structured forms reads clearly at any distance. The Architecture surface is evenly worked throughout.

Is the Architecture coaster set a long or short project?

Roughly 30 to 45 minutes each for most people, so a full set is a few evenings rather than one sitting. The Architecture design is ordered and poised, which tends to make it easier to work in short sessions. The Architecture design is paced, not rushed.

Is the Architecture coaster set gentle enough for a newcomer?

Yes. The symbol key is printed directly on the cork-backed base and the pictorial instructions walk through the whole process, so no prior diamond painting experience is needed. The Architecture layout is ordered and poised, which helps on a first attempt. The kit arrives ready to begin.

Wasn’t sure what to expect, but I’m very happy with it. I gave a set to my son’s teacher and she was thrilled. Only small gripe is that a few drills had little burrs on them. Overall a good experience.

Second time ordering this style, still happy with it. I’ll be buying more from this shop. I picked the landscape version and the colors are lovely. Only small gripe is that a few drills had little burrs on them. I’d recommend it with that one note.

This was my first diamond painting kit and I’m officially hooked. The holder fits all 8 pieces neatly, keeps them from getting lost. Good weight to the materials, it doesn’t feel cheap. I did this with my roommate on the weekends and we both got into it. There were slightly more drills than needed, so it took longer than planned. They sit by the coffee maker and get used constantly. Overall a good experience.

  4. Kayla C. –

I’m a repeat DOTZSO customer at this point and this kit did not disappoint. Each one took me two evenings to finish, quicker than I expected. One of the 8 coasters had a slightly off-center print. Perfect for a cozy evening in when you want to keep your hands busy. Good kit overall, just a couple of small things.

  5. Joyce Brock (verified owner) –

These little coasters are the perfect size for a quick project. Glue coverage was even, no dry patches anywhere. It’s my go-to when I want something enjoyable that doesn’t take much thought. Some colors had very few spare drills. Really pleased with how it turned out. Still a solid purchase.

Picked this up before a long flight and it saved the trip. The cork keeps them from sticking to the table when there’s condensation. The included pen wore out partway through. Going to order a few more for Christmas presents. Still glad I ordered it overall.

Got a set for the office and they dress up my desk. I keep them out for guests and always get asked about them. I’d have liked a few more spare drills in the pale colors. Good kit overall, just a couple of small things.

I bought two sets so I could gift one and keep one. Everyone who sees it asks how long it took. One coaster had a marginally off-center print. Mild quibbles, but a good purchase.

These are my go-to when I want a small craft that still feels rewarding. They’re a nice size for a standard mug, and even a wider tumbler fits. A couple of the darker shades were hard to tell apart in low light. My friends all want one now. Good kit overall, just a couple of small things.

  10. Lewis Crane (verified owner) –

This arrived on a rainy Tuesday and turned the week around. They wipe clean easily, which matters with kids around. The colors are true to the listing photos. I keep it by my chair and pick it up whenever I have a few minutes. Would make a really nice gift, and it arrives boxed nicely. The canvas had a faint mark from the printing on one edge. Overall happy, just a few small things.

I do these while dinner is in the oven. Great little time filler. The holder is sturdy enough that I actually keep them in it. The drills are bright and consistent in size, no weird off-color batches. It’s a lovely quiet hobby, and I like having something to show for it at the end. Some colors came with barely any extras, though I didn’t run out. The finished piece gets compliments from everyone who visits. Still a solid purchase.

These are my go-to when I want a small craft that still feels rewarding. They look like a proper matched set. The set is eight, which is more than I strictly needed. Minor things, but I’d still buy it again.

  13. Guy Stephens –

I needed a screen-free hobby and this fit the bill. They get used every single day at our house. A few bags weren’t labeled as clearly as the rest. Still worth it overall.

Such a fun format – one coaster at a time, no big commitment. They look great on the sideboard and are genuinely useful. I’d have liked a few more spare drills in the pale colors. Still worth it overall.

Ordered two kits, this was the one I finished first. The tray and tweezers included were better than I expected. I worked on this during my lunch breaks and it made the days feel better. The edges could be sealed a little better for daily use. They’ve held up without a single scratch. Still a solid purchase.

Got these for the kitchen table and they look so cute. The finished piece looks far better than I expected. The holder doesn’t match the coasters exactly in finish. Happy with it, with a few caveats.

I keep a set going on the kitchen counter. The wax and pen that came with it worked fine right out of the box. It photographs well, which is a bonus for sharing. It only comes in sets, so I couldn’t buy a single extra. Mild quibbles, but a good purchase.

I wanted something I could finish in a sitting or two and these were it. Everyone who comes over picks one up to look at it. They’re a bit small for a large tumbler. Worth buying, just plan for those small quirks.

  20. Hugo Boyer (verified owner) –

Bought a set to use at our lake house and ended up making all eight. Everything was bagged and labeled, so setup took five minutes. Drill colors are well separated, no squinting to tell two shades apart. Instructions were minimal, though it’s easy enough to figure out. I found it really peaceful to focus on one small area at a time. We actually use them every day, not just display them. Would recommend it with those notes.

Such a fun format – one coaster at a time, no big commitment. Plenty of margin around the edges for framing or trimming. One coaster had a marginally off-center print. Keeps my hands busy while I watch something. Happy enough that I’d buy another.

I do these while dinner is in the oven. Great little time filler. Extra drills were included for every color, which I appreciated. One of the 8 coasters had a slightly off-center print. Made a set for my sister and now she wants more. Would still recommend it.

  24. Shelley Vance (verified owner) –

Ordered two kits, this was the one I finished first. The drills are uniform and sit flat with no gaps. I brought it on a week at the lake and finished most of it there. The colors work beautifully with the room. The holder finish doesn’t quite match the coasters. Good kit overall, just a couple of small things.

I saw this on the shop page and couldn’t talk myself out of it. The holder keeps the set together and tidy. Wish the cork backing were a touch thicker. It became my end-of-day wind-down. Would recommend it with those notes.
