Why This Art Set Earns Its Place on the Table

This Art design shows a composed arrangement of bold shapes and intersecting bands, balanced asymmetrically with one anchoring element. The colour work runs through strong complementary tones deliberately held in tension against a neutral field — an overall feel that is bold and graphic, never busy. Graphic art pieces work where a scene would be too soft — studios and workspaces want the tension. It is for makers who prefer a project with an obvious job at the end. Designed for statement walls and creative workspaces, it holds up as decor rather than as something you finish and put in a drawer. Reference BD526. graphic art pieces work where a scene would be too soft — studios and workspaces want the tension, and the treatment of the colour is what carries it.

graphic art pieces work where a scene would be too soft — studios and workspaces want the tension. It is why the piece settles into statement walls and creative workspaces without needing the rest of the scheme to match it.

Every DOTZSO diamond painting kit is built for people who want the make to feel calm and the result to be something they actually use. Contents: colour-printed canvas, DOTZSO resin drills, sorting tray, comfort-grip pen, wax caddy and illustrated step-by-step instructions.

The construction is deliberately simple: anti-slip body, cork backing, seated drill surface. That combination is what keeps the set out of a drawer.

The set runs to 8 coasters, each on the same cork-backed base for a consistent feel in the hand.

What’s in the Box

  • 8 × anti-slip coaster with cork-backed base
  • 1 × display holder / stand
  • DOTZSO signature resin drills, sorted by colour (with extra drills included)
  • Diamond painting tray
  • Comfort-grip applicator pen
  • Wax caddy
  • Pictorial step-by-step instructions

How to Make It

  1. Unroll the canvas on a flat surface and let it settle under something weighted if it has been rolled tight.
  2. Find the legend strip and match the first symbol to its drill colour.
  3. Press the pen tip into the wax caddy, then touch it to a drill – the drill lifts and stays on the tip.
  4. Set the drill onto the matching printed symbol and press lightly. Work one coaster at a time rather than moving across the whole set.
  5. Complete all coasters, then press each finished surface flat with a book for an hour to seat every drill.
  6. Finally, leave the set on the table for a few hours before first use so the drills settle fully.

Complete the set over a few quiet evenings, then put it to work — these are made to be handled.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the coaster set pictured the exact configuration that ships?

Yes. The Art coaster set ships complete with the stand shown in the product images, so the coasters have somewhere to live when they are not in use, plus the DOTZSO resin drills, tray, applicator pen, wax caddy and pictorial instructions. Nothing else needs sourcing. Reference BD526.

Does the Art coaster set maintain its finish under normal conditions?

Once the drills are seated and the surface is sealed, the Art design holds under normal use. The cork-backed base is what stops condensation reaching the table, and the sealing step is the single biggest factor in how long the finish lasts. Treat it as a normal household item and it behaves like one.

How do I look after the Art coaster set day to day?

Wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately. Do not submerge them or put them through a dishwasher — the adhesive layer under the drills is not built for a soak. For the Art palette, strong complementary tones deliberately held in tension against a neutral field tones show dust less than pale grounds, so a light pass is usually enough. Keeping the Art piece dust-free is the whole routine.

Is the Art design drilled uniformly across the face?

The drilled finish and palette are matched across the whole set, but each coaster carries its own printed motif. The Art artwork is drawn so that a composed arrangement of bold shapes and intersecting bands reads clearly at any distance. The Art surface is worked as one continuous piece.

Is the Art design a long-running project?

Roughly 30 to 45 minutes each for most people, so a full set is a few evenings rather than one sitting. The Art design is bold and graphic, which tends to make it easier to work in short sessions. Plan the Art piece around several sittings.

Would the Art coaster set suit a first-timer?

Yes. The symbol key is printed directly on the cork-backed base and the pictorial instructions walk through the whole process, so no prior diamond painting experience is needed. The Art layout is bold and graphic, which helps on a first attempt. The pack has everything for the project.

  1. Dorothy V. (verified owner) –

Honestly better quality than I expected for the price. Glue coverage was even, no dry patches anywhere. No missing colors and no shortage on the ones used most. I did this with my sister-in-law on the weekends and we both got into it. Going to order a few more for Christmas presents. Wish the cork backing were a touch thicker. I’d recommend it with that one note.

Found this while browsing and couldn’t leave without it. They fit a standard mug or glass without overhang. One coaster had a marginally off-center print. Happy with it, with one small caveat.

My husband picked this out for me and he chose well. They look lovely stacked in the holder on the coffee table. One coaster was slightly thicker than the others. Good enough that I’d buy another.

  4. Gene Robertson (verified owner) –

I needed a screen-free hobby and this fit the bill. The cork backing keeps them from sliding and protects the table. My daughter wants one now after seeing mine. The holder finish doesn’t quite match the coasters. A solid purchase with a couple of notes.

  5. QueenCityCrafts (verified owner) –

This was exactly the kind of project I needed this month. The numbering was consistent across the whole canvas. Great value considering how many hours of enjoyment it gave me. The set is eight, which is more than I strictly needed. Worth buying, just plan for those small quirks.

  6. Kurt Boyd –

Bought this as a birthday present to myself. The tray and tweezers included were better than I expected. The wax and pen that came with it worked fine right out of the box. I kept it by the window and worked on it in the afternoons. They look lovely stacked in the holder on the coffee table. I’d have preferred more spare drills in the least-used color. Happy with it, with a few caveats.

I ordered this set for our new apartment. The cork base means no scratches on our wood table. The wax was a little stiff at first. They’re on the coffee table and get used every day. Still a solid purchase.

  8. Brooke Chambers (verified owner) –

I wanted coasters that didn’t look like everyone else’s and these fit. Everything was bagged and labeled, so setup took five minutes. I do this while listening to music and the time disappears. The printed chart could have been a touch larger. I’d recommend it with that one note.

  9. Lisa Cotton (verified owner) –

Bought a set for the camper and they’ve been great. The cork base means no scratches and no condensation rings. I wish the instructions went into a bit more detail for a first-timer. I did a little at a time and it never felt like a slog. Minor things, but I’d still buy it again.

  10. Amber Watkins –

I do these while dinner is in the oven. Great little time filler. The kit included more than enough drills for the full design. It only comes in sets, so I couldn’t buy a single extra. They sit by the coffee maker and get used constantly. Good enough that I’d buy another.

  11. Verna Sanders (verified owner) –

Small enough to take along on a trip. They wipe clean easily, which matters with kids around. Did most of it over a long weekend and it was such a pleasant way to pass the time. Gave a set to my neighbor as a housewarming gift and she loved them. The holder is a little loose, the coasters rattle when you move it. I’d order again, just knowing what to expect.

  12. Bruce Gregory (verified owner) –

A friend recommended this shop and I see why. Everything I needed was in the box – pen, wax, tray and tweezers. A few drills had rough edges that needed picking off. I work on it after dinner and it helps me switch off. Made a set for my book club and everyone wanted the link. Happy with it, with one small caveat.

These were a nice little project to knock out over a week. They look great on the sideboard and are genuinely useful. The included pen wore out partway through. Worth buying, just plan for those small quirks.

Picked this up before a long flight and it saved the trip. The cork backing keeps them from sliding and protects the table. Shipping took a few days longer than I expected. I found the repetition genuinely calming rather than tedious. They’ve held up without a single scratch. Overall a good experience.

I saw this on the shop page and couldn’t talk myself out of it. They’re a nice size for a standard mug, and even a wider tumbler fits. I keep it set up on a side table and do a bit whenever I have ten minutes. One coaster had a marginally off-center print. They look lovely stacked in the holder on the coffee table. Happy with it, with a few caveats.

Wasn’t sure what to expect, but I’m very happy with it. The holder fits all 8 pieces neatly, keeps them from getting lost. A really satisfying project from start to finish. The holder is a bit loose so they rattle when moved. A solid purchase with a couple of notes.

I like having a small kit that doesn’t take a month. The adhesive held well across several weeks of working on it. Some colors came with barely any extras, though I didn’t run out. It’s a good way to slow down at the end of the day. Small issues, but nothing that would stop me ordering again.

I’ve made several sets of these now as gifts. The finish on each coaster is consistent across the set. The pen that came with it is a bit flimsy, I swapped in my own. I keep it set up on a side table and do a bit whenever I have ten minutes. Overall a good experience.

These little coasters are the perfect size for a quick project. The colors work beautifully with the room. The packaging arrived a little dented. Happy enough that I’d buy another.

Bought a set to use at our lake house and ended up making all eight. They wipe clean easily, which matters with coffee and kids around. It’s my go-to when I want something enjoyable that doesn’t take much thought. The holder is a bit loose so they rattle when moved. They’ve held up well to daily coffee and tea. Happy with it, with a few caveats.

Bought these for our patio table and they look charming. The adhesive held well across several weeks of working on it. Did most of it over a long weekend and it was such a pleasant way to pass the time. They’re a hit whenever we have people over. The holder is a little loose, the coasters rattle when you move it. Still worth it overall.

These were a nice little project to knock out over a week. They wipe clean easily, which matters with kids around. Keeps my hands busy during long flights and hotel evenings. Some colors had very few spare drills. Everyone who comes over picks one up to look at it. I’d recommend it with that one note.

This was my first diamond painting kit and I’m officially hooked. The drills came in labeled bags, which made sorting painless. I’ve been doing it in the evenings with my partner, we take turns on sections. Great housewarming gift, small and thoughtful. Took a bit longer to arrive than I expected. Worth buying, just plan for those small quirks.

Such a fun format – one coaster at a time, no big commitment. The drills sit nice and flush, no gaps showing the surface underneath. The tray and tweezers included were better than I expected. The holder finish doesn’t quite match the coasters. I found it really peaceful to focus on one small area at a time. Everyone who comes over picks one up to look at it. Minor things, but I’d still buy it again.

I wanted something I could finish in a sitting or two and these were it. Colors match the listing photo really closely. The holder doesn’t match the coasters exactly in finish. It’s become my evening ritual – an hour of this and I feel settled. Still a good kit overall.

These are my favorite style of kit to give away. Cork base means no scratches on our wood table, which I was worried about. Great way to slow down at the end of a busy day. I keep them out for guests and always get asked about them. The adhesive picked up a bit of dust while I was working over several days. Happy enough that I’d buy another.

Was looking for a small diamond art project and these nailed it. Each coaster is a good thickness and feels sturdy in the hand. I brought it on a weekend trip and finished most of it there. My daughter wants one now after seeing mine. One coaster had a marginally off-center print. I’d order it again knowing what I know now.
