Why This Flower Set Earns Its Place on the Table

Here the Flower motif is built around a single bloom captured fully open, petals layered from tight centre to relaxed outer edge, with two leaves framing the stem, carried by blush and coral petals with fresh green stems against a soft cream ground. The result reads as gentle and bright — considered rather than busy. A single flower shot through with graded colour does more for a small wall than a busy bouquet. It is made for households that want the table to look deliberate rather than decorated. Designed for bedrooms and quiet morning spaces, it holds up as decor rather than as something you finish and put in a drawer. Reference BD571. a single flower shot through with graded colour does more for a small wall than a busy bouquet. In bedrooms and quiet morning spaces the piece holds its own against the surrounding colour rather than fighting it.

The DOTZSO approach here is simple: an unhurried make, and a set that goes straight into daily use. Everything ships in one box — the colour-printed canvas, DOTZSO resin drills, tray, comfort-grip pen, wax caddy and illustrated guidance.

Coasters live hard lives. That is why the body is cork-backed and the surface is fully seated after the drills go down – the set is meant to be picked up, not protected.

With 8 coasters in the box, a full table is covered from one purchase.

What’s in the Box

  • 8 × anti-slip coaster with cork-backed base
  • 1 × display holder / stand
  • DOTZSO signature resin drills, sorted by colour (with extra drills included)
  • Diamond painting tray
  • Comfort-grip applicator pen
  • Wax caddy
  • Pictorial step-by-step instructions

How to Make It

  1. Unroll the canvas on a flat surface and let it settle under something weighted if it has been rolled tight.
  2. Find the legend strip and match the first symbol to its drill colour.
  3. Press the pen tip into the wax caddy, then touch it to a drill – the drill lifts and stays on the tip.
  4. Set the drill onto the matching printed symbol and press lightly. Work one coaster at a time rather than moving across the whole set.
  5. Complete all coasters, then press each finished surface flat with a book for an hour to seat every drill.
  6. Finally, leave the set on the table for a few hours before first use so the drills settle fully.

Finish it in your own time, then leave the set out where it will be picked up and used.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the tools for the Flower coaster set included as well as the project?

Yes. The Flower coaster set ships complete with the stand shown in the product images, so the coasters have somewhere to live when they are not in use, plus the DOTZSO resin drills, tray, applicator pen, wax caddy and pictorial instructions. Nothing else needs sourcing. Reference BD571.

Does the Flower finish remain even with use?

Once the drills are seated and the surface is sealed, the Flower design holds under normal use. The cork-backed base is what stops condensation reaching the table, and the sealing step is the single biggest factor in how long the finish lasts. The main variable is how well the final sealing pass is done.

How do I maintain the Flower finish?

Wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately. Do not submerge them or put them through a dishwasher — the adhesive layer under the drills is not built for a soak. For the Flower palette, blush and coral petals tones show dust less than pale grounds, so a light pass is usually enough. Keep the Flower piece away from standing water.

Is the drill pattern on the Flower coaster set complete or selective?

The drilled finish and palette are matched across the whole set, but each coaster carries its own printed motif. The Flower artwork is drawn so that a single bloom captured fully open reads clearly at any distance. All of the Flower face is drill-covered.

How long does the Flower coaster set take for a beginner?

Roughly 30 to 45 minutes each for most people, so a full set is a few evenings rather than one sitting. The Flower design is gentle and bright, which tends to make it easier to work in short sessions. There is no deadline built into the Flower project.

Is the Flower coaster set fine for absolute beginners?

Yes. The symbol key is printed directly on the cork-backed base and the pictorial instructions walk through the whole process, so no prior diamond painting experience is needed. The Flower layout is gentle and bright, which helps on a first attempt. All parts are included as standard.

These are my go-to when I want a small craft that still feels rewarding. Drill colors are well separated, no squinting to tell two shades apart. I brought it on a week at the lake and finished most of it there. The holder doesn’t match the coasters exactly in finish. Minor things, but I’d still buy it again.

Second time ordering this style, still happy with it. The bloom pattern is what drew me in and it didn’t disappoint. They’re a bit smaller than I pictured for a large tumbler. Each coaster is a good thickness and feels sturdy in the hand. It’s become my evening ritual – an hour of this and I feel settled. Happy with it, with a few caveats.

  3. Dolores Stafford (verified owner) –

These were a housewarming gift and I nearly kept them. The cork backing is properly attached, not just glued on the edges. They’ve held up without a single scratch. One color had a couple of misshapen drills, but spares covered it. Still a good kit overall.

Perfect little kit – not overwhelming like a full canvas. Each coaster is a good thickness and feels sturdy in the hand. If you like bloom designs, this is a good one to go for. Really calming, repetitive work, and satisfying when a section is finished. They sit by the coffee maker and get used constantly. The adhesive picked up a bit of dust while I was working over several days. Minor things, but I’d still buy it again.

  5. Kellie Matthews (verified owner) –

I ordered these for the living room and they look intentional. The drills sit flush, so glasses don’t wobble on top. They’ve held up without a single scratch. The flower colors are richer than the photos show. One bag of drills had come open in transit. Still glad I ordered it overall.

I wanted something I could finish in a sitting or two and these were it. Made a set for my book club and everyone wanted the link. They’re a bit smaller than I pictured for a large tumbler. Worth buying, just plan for those small quirks.

Bought these to have on hand for last-minute hostess gifts. It fits perfectly with the decor in the living room. One coaster had a marginally off-center print. Minor things, but I’d still buy it again.

  8. Melanie Parrish (verified owner) –

I bought this to fill the gap between bigger projects. Nothing arrived damaged, and everything was sealed properly. It’s my go-to when I want something enjoyable that doesn’t take much thought. Everyone who sees it asks how long it took. The bloom motif makes it feel special. It would help to include a larger paper chart. A good buy, with one or two caveats.

  9. Dorothy B. (verified owner) –

I’m a repeat DOTZSO customer at this point and this kit did not disappoint. The drills are bright and consistent in size, no weird off-color batches. The pen and wax worked fine, I didn’t need to dig out my own tools. The holder doesn’t match the coasters exactly in finish. The bloom pattern is what drew me in and it didn’t disappoint. Nice mindful project – you can’t think about much else while you’re placing drills. Everyone who sees it asks how long it took. Still worth it overall.

  10. Ian Downey (verified owner) –

Bought a set as a hostess gift and kept a set for myself. Finish is even and the whole thing looks tidy once you’re done. Instructions were minimal, though it’s easy enough to figure out. They sit by the coffee maker and get used constantly. Minor things, but I’d still buy it again.

  11. Scarlett G. (verified owner) –

This arrived in perfect condition, nothing bent or spilled. The holder is sturdy enough that I actually keep them in it. I work on it while listening to an audiobook and the time just disappears. The sorting tray is shallow, drills spill out if you’re not careful. I bring them out for guests and always get asked about them. The floral detail comes together really nicely once it’s finished. Still a solid purchase.

This is my fourth kit from DOTZSO and the quality is holding up. My friends all want one now. The canvas had a faint mark from the printing on one edge. Worth it despite the small things.

  13. Millicent Quinn (verified owner) –

Our old coasters were scratched up, so this was an easy upgrade. Everything was bagged and labeled, so setup took five minutes. Genuinely peaceful to work on one row at a time. I gave a set to a friend and she uses them constantly. The adhesive picked up a bit of dust while I was working over several days. A good buy, with one or two caveats.

Added this to my cart at the last minute and I’m glad I did. Nothing arrived damaged, and everything was sealed properly. Something about placing the drills is very settling. It only comes in sets, so I couldn’t buy a single extra. It makes a lovely gift and arrives nicely packaged. Would buy again; the notes are minor.

Perfect for when you want a finished project fast. The holder keeps the set together and tidy. Instructions were pretty minimal, though there are plenty of tutorials online. The bloom detail is impressive up close. Something about placing the drills is very settling. Overall a good experience.

Bought a set for the camper and they’ve been great. The edges are finished cleanly, no rough spots. Took me a while to get the hang of the multi-placer tip. I set it up next to the window and do a few rows whenever the light is good. Small issues, but nothing that would stop me ordering again.

  17. Sherri Stone (verified owner) –

Ordered it after seeing one a friend finished, and I get the appeal now. The cork base means no scratches and no condensation rings. It was easy to pick up and put down without losing my place. I’ve gotten so many compliments on it. It only comes in sets, so I couldn’t buy a single extra. Still glad I ordered it overall.

These are my go-to when I want a small craft that still feels rewarding. Everyone who visits picks one up to look at it. The holder is a bit loose so they rattle when moved. I’d order again, just knowing what to expect.

  19. Seth Tucker (verified owner) –

Bought this to do with my daughter on rainy days. Each coaster is a good thickness and feels sturdy in the hand. Did most of it over a long weekend and it was such a pleasant way to pass the time. Everyone who visits picks one up to look at it. A few bags weren’t labeled as clearly as the rest. The bloom palette works really well with the design. Would order again despite the small issues.

Bought this as a birthday present to myself. They wipe clean easily, which matters with coffee and kids around. I’d prefer slightly thicker cork on the base. I keep it by my chair and pick it up whenever I have a few minutes. Worth it despite the small things.

  22. Curtis Chambers (verified owner) –

I grabbed these to have something small to work on in the evenings. Cork on the bottom stops condensation from sticking them down. The bloom artwork comes together beautifully as you work. Colors are distinct enough that I never mixed two shades up. It’s the kind of project that feels creative without being stressful. I’d prefer slightly thicker cork on the base. We actually use them every day, not just display them. Good enough that I’d buy another.
