Why This Landscape Set Earns Its Place on the Table

A Landscape study built on a layered vista of ridgelines receding into low mist, with a still lake catching the sky and pine slopes anchoring both banks. The palette stays in cool pine green and slate blue with a band of warm light at the horizon, and the piece keeps a expansive and quiet register throughout. Landscape work is the most forgiving motif to live with — it never dates and it never demands the room match it. It is for anyone who wants a coaster set that quietly matches the room. Designed for living rooms and reading corners, it holds up as decor rather than as something you finish and put in a drawer. Reference BD497. Depth is built through graded blues rather than outlines, so the scene pulls the eye inward the longer it hangs.

landscape work is the most forgiving motif to live with — it never dates and it never demands the room match it. Placed in living rooms and reading corners, it reads as part of the room rather than an addition to it.

DOTZSO makes these sets for households that would rather use something handmade than store it. In the box: colour-printed canvas, DOTZSO resin drills, a sorting tray, a comfort-grip applicator pen, a wax caddy and step-by-step pictures.

Built to be used rather than admired, the set pairs an anti-slip body with a cork backing and a surface pressed flat after completion.

Across all 8 coasters the drill shades are held constant, so nothing looks out of place.

What’s in the Box

  • 8 × anti-slip coaster with cork-backed base
  • 1 × display holder / stand
  • DOTZSO signature resin drills, sorted by colour (with extra drills included)
  • Diamond painting tray
  • Comfort-grip applicator pen
  • Wax caddy
  • Pictorial step-by-step instructions

How to Make It

  1. Unroll the canvas on a flat surface and let it settle under something weighted if it has been rolled tight.
  2. Find the legend strip and match the first symbol to its drill colour.
  3. Press the pen tip into the wax caddy, then touch it to a drill – the drill lifts and stays on the tip.
  4. Set the drill onto the matching printed symbol and press lightly. Work one coaster at a time rather than moving across the whole set.
  5. Complete all coasters, then press each finished surface flat with a book for an hour to seat every drill.
  6. Finally, leave the set on the table for a few hours before first use so the drills settle fully.

Complete it whenever suits, and then treat the set as a working object, not a display piece.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I need to buy anything else to finish this coaster set?

Yes. The Landscape coaster set ships complete with the stand shown in the product images, so the coasters have somewhere to live when they are not in use, plus the DOTZSO resin drills, tray, applicator pen, wax caddy and pictorial instructions. Nothing else needs sourcing. Reference BD497.

How solid is the finish on the Landscape coaster set?

Once the drills are seated and the surface is sealed, the Landscape design holds under normal use. The cork-backed base is what stops condensation reaching the table, and the sealing step is the single biggest factor in how long the finish lasts. The drilling on the Landscape piece stays level over time.

What care does the Landscape design require?

Wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately. Do not submerge them or put them through a dishwasher — the adhesive layer under the drills is not built for a soak. For the Landscape palette, cool pine green and slate blue tones show dust less than pale grounds, so a light pass is usually enough. Keep the Landscape piece away from standing water.

Does the Landscape coaster set have complete drill work?

The drilled finish and palette are matched across the whole set, but each coaster carries its own printed motif. The Landscape artwork is drawn so that a layered vista of ridgelines receding into low mist reads clearly at any distance. The Landscape design is worked without breaks in coverage.

What sort of time commitment is the Landscape project?

Roughly 30 to 45 minutes each for most people, so a full set is a few evenings rather than one sitting. The Landscape design is expansive and quiet, which tends to make it easier to work in short sessions. The Landscape piece is best treated as a project, not a race.

Is the Landscape coaster set fine for absolute beginners?

Yes. The symbol key is printed directly on the cork-backed base and the pictorial instructions walk through the whole process, so no prior diamond painting experience is needed. The Landscape layout is expansive and quiet, which helps on a first attempt. The kit includes everything needed to start.

This was my first diamond painting kit and I’m officially hooked. Everything I needed was in the box – pen, wax, tray and tweezers. Would make a really nice gift, and it arrives boxed nicely. They’re a bit smaller than I pictured for a large tumbler. Minor things, but I’d still buy it again.

I made one the first night just to see how it went, then did the rest over the week. The floral pattern is what drew me in and it didn’t disappoint. Using them on the patio table and they’ve held up fine. Thumbs up from our whole family.

Was looking for a small diamond art project and these nailed it. The holder is sturdy enough that I actually keep them in it. It’s a charming bloom piece and everyone comments on it. Did most of it over a long weekend and it was such a pleasant way to pass the time. Finished piece looks even better in person than in the listing photos. They’re a bit smaller than I pictured for a large tumbler. Good kit overall, just a couple of small things.

Bought a set as a hostess gift and kept a set for myself. Cork on the bottom plus the drill top makes them feel solid. Did most of it over a long weekend and it was such a pleasant way to pass the time. I picked the flower version and the colors are lovely. Really pleased with this one.

I grabbed these to have something small to work on in the evenings. The drills sit nice and flush, no gaps showing the surface underneath. I did this with my son on the weekends and we both got into it. I’ll be ordering more.

I grabbed these to have something small to work on in the evenings. Each one took me a weekend to finish, quicker than I expected. Each color was packed generously, I had plenty to spare. It’s a lovely quiet hobby, and I like having something to show for it at the end. They look great on the sideboard and are genuinely useful. Recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing craft.

These are my favorite style of kit to give away. The drills sit flush, so glasses don’t wobble on top. Great for unwinding after a busy week. A solid pick.

Saw a finished version online and tracked down this kit the same day. Each coaster is a solid thickness and feels durable. Extra drills were included for every color, which I appreciated. I brought it on a week at the lake and finished most of it there. A useful gift that people actually keep out. Very pleased with it.

These were a nice little project to knock out over a week. Cork on the bottom stops condensation from sticking them down. The pen and wax worked fine, I didn’t need to dig out my own tools. I got through it faster than I thought I would. They live on the side table and look good there. I’ll be ordering more.

Bought these for our patio table and they look charming. The cork backing is properly attached, not just glued on the edges. I do this instead of scrolling and feel much better for it. A couple of the darker shades were hard to tell apart. Minor gripes aside, I’d buy it again.

I grabbed these to have something small to work on in the evenings. Spare drills were included, which I appreciated. It’s satisfying to watch a section fill in. Everyone who sees it asks how long it took. I chose this one for the landscape look. Really happy with this one.

These are the perfect size to actually finish. They’re a nice size for a standard mug, and even a wider tumbler fits. Each color was packed generously, I had plenty to spare. Perfect for slow evenings when you don’t want more screen time. It photographs well, which is a bonus for sharing. If you like scenery designs, this is a good example. Easy recommendation from me.

I’m a repeat DOTZSO customer at this point and this kit did not disappoint. Finish is even and the whole thing looks tidy once you’re done. Drill colors are well separated, no squinting to tell two shades apart. Nice to have something that gets me off my phone for a while. It’s a charming bloom piece and everyone comments on it. Made a set for my book club and everyone wanted the link. Can’t wait to start the next one.

Such a fun format – one coaster at a time, no big commitment. The landscape element makes it feel personal. The holder is sturdy enough that I actually keep them in it. The pen grip stayed comfortable through long sessions. I do this while listening to music and the time disappears. They stack away neatly when I want the table clear. Five stars from me.

Not my first diamond painting, but one of my favorites. I gave a set to my son’s teacher and she was thrilled. The landscape motif makes it feel special. The cork on one had a small rough patch. Still a solid purchase.

I keep a set going on the kitchen counter. Everything needed to finish was in the box, nothing extra to buy. I do it at the kitchen table while dinner simmers. They’re practical enough to actually use, which is the point. I wish the box were sturdier for storage. Solid overall, just a couple of nitpicks.

I grabbed these to have something small to work on in the evenings. The drills were sorted into clearly marked bags, which saved a lot of time. The pen and wax worked fine, I didn’t need to dig out my own tools. It’s a lovely take on a scenery design. I take it on the porch in the evenings when the weather is nice. They get used every single day at our house. Would recommend to anyone on the fence.

Bought these to have on hand for last-minute hostess gifts. The cork base means no scratches on our wood table. The holder doesn’t match the coasters exactly in finish. If you like scenery designs, this is a good example. I worked on it a little each evening and it added up quickly. Small issues, but nothing that would stop me ordering again.
