Why This Mountains and Rivers Set Earns Its Place on the Table
Here the Mountains and Rivers motif is built around layered mountain ridges with a river winding through the valley below, forested slopes and low cloud across the peaks, carried by cool blue-grey ridges with deep pine green and pale mist bands. The result reads as majestic and calm — considered rather than busy. Mountain landscapes bring scale to a room — the layering makes a wall feel deeper. It is for makers who prefer a project with an obvious job at the end. Designed for living rooms and offices, it holds up as decor rather than as something you finish and put in a drawer. Reference BD442. Mountain landscapes bring scale to a room — the layering makes a wall feel deeper It is also why the piece keeps working after the novelty fades.
mountain landscapes bring scale to a room — the layering makes a wall feel deeper. Hung in living rooms and offices, the majestic palette does the work and the artwork stays understated.
Every DOTZSO diamond painting kit is built for people who want the make to feel calm and the result to be something they actually use. Contents: colour-printed canvas, DOTZSO resin drills, sorting tray, comfort-grip pen, wax caddy and illustrated step-by-step instructions.
The construction is deliberately simple: anti-slip body, cork backing, seated drill surface. That combination is what keeps the set out of a drawer.
The set runs to 8 coasters, each on the same cork-backed base for a consistent feel in the hand.

What’s in the Box

- 1 × display holder / stand
- DOTZSO signature resin drills, sorted by colour (with extra drills included)
- Diamond painting tray
- Comfort-grip applicator pen
- Wax caddy
- Pictorial step-by-step instructions
How to Make It
- Unroll the canvas on a flat surface and let it settle under something weighted if it has been rolled tight.
- Find the legend strip and match the first symbol to its drill colour.
- Press the pen tip into the wax caddy, then touch it to a drill – the drill lifts and stays on the tip.
- Set the drill onto the matching printed symbol and press lightly. Work one coaster at a time rather than moving across the whole set.
- Complete all coasters, then press each finished surface flat with a book for an hour to seat every drill.
- Finally, leave the set on the table for a few hours before first use so the drills settle fully.
Complete the set over a few quiet evenings, then put it to work — these are made to be handled.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this coaster set self-contained, or does it need extra supplies?
Yes. The Mountains and Rivers coaster set ships complete with the stand shown in the product images, so the coasters have somewhere to live when they are not in use, plus the DOTZSO resin drills, tray, applicator pen, wax caddy and pictorial instructions. Nothing else needs sourcing. Reference BD442.
Will the drills stay put on the Mountains and Rivers design with daily handling?
Once the drills are seated and the surface is sealed, the Mountains and Rivers design holds under normal use. The cork-backed base is what stops condensation reaching the table, and the sealing step is the single biggest factor in how long the finish lasts. Give the seal a full cure and the Mountains and Rivers finish will hold.
How do I keep the Mountains and Rivers coaster set looking its best?
Wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately. Do not submerge them or put them through a dishwasher — the adhesive layer under the drills is not built for a soak. For the Mountains and Rivers palette, cool blue-grey ridges tones show dust less than pale grounds, so a light pass is usually enough. Dust with a dry cloth rather than a wet one where possible.
Is the entire Mountains and Rivers surface drilled?
The drilled finish and palette are matched across the whole set, but each coaster carries its own printed motif. The Mountains and Rivers artwork is drawn so that layered mountain ridges with a river winding through the valley below reads clearly at any distance. The Mountains and Rivers face has no deliberately exposed areas.
What is the estimated build time for the Mountains and Rivers design?
Roughly 30 to 45 minutes each for most people, so a full set is a few evenings rather than one sitting. The Mountains and Rivers design is majestic and calm, which tends to make it easier to work in short sessions. The Mountains and Rivers pattern is easy to work in short bursts.
Can the Mountains and Rivers coaster set be done by a child with help?
Yes. The symbol key is printed directly on the cork-backed base and the pictorial instructions walk through the whole process, so no prior diamond painting experience is needed. The Mountains and Rivers layout is majestic and calm, which helps on a first attempt. The kit includes everything needed to start.
