The effect is bold and graphic and unfussy. Bold horror graphics are for people who decorate Halloween seriously — subtlety is not the goal. A DOTZSO kit is designed so the making is restful and the finished piece earns its place in the room. Alongside the canvas you get DOTZSO resin drills, a sorting tray, a comfort-grip applicator pen, a wax caddy and pictorial instructions.

What makes this a working set rather than a display piece is underneath – a cork backing that takes the moisture before it reaches the furniture.

Matched drills across all 10 pieces mean the set looks deliberate when stacked or spread out.

  • Diamond painting tray
  • Comfort-grip applicator pen

How to Make It

  1. Unroll the canvas on a flat surface and let it settle under something weighted if it has been rolled tight.
  2. Find the legend strip and match the first symbol to its drill colour.
  3. Press the pen tip into the wax caddy, then touch it to a drill – the drill lifts and stays on the tip.
  4. Set the drill onto the matching printed symbol and press lightly. Work one coaster at a time rather than moving across the whole set.
  5. Complete all coasters, then press each finished surface flat with a book for an hour to seat every drill.
  6. Finally, leave the set on the table for a few hours before first use so the drills settle fully.

Finish the set at an easy pace, then leave it on the table rather than boxing it up.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the coaster set supplied in one complete set?

Yes. The Halloween coaster set ships complete with the stand shown in the product images, so the coasters have somewhere to live when they are not in use, plus the DOTZSO resin drills, tray, applicator pen, wax caddy and pictorial instructions. Nothing else needs sourcing. Reference BD532.

Will the Halloween artwork survive being used rather than framed?

Once the drills are seated and the surface is sealed, the Halloween design holds under normal use. The cork-backed base is what stops condensation reaching the table, and the sealing step is the single biggest factor in how long the finish lasts. The sealing step at the end is what locks it in.

How often does the Halloween coaster set need attention?

Wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately. Do not submerge them or put them through a dishwasher — the adhesive layer under the drills is not built for a soak. For the Halloween palette, deep orange and ink black tones show dust less than pale grounds, so a light pass is usually enough. The Halloween surface asks for very little upkeep.

Is the Halloween coaster set fully covered or deliberately sparse?

The drilled finish and palette are matched across the whole set, but each coaster carries its own printed motif. The Halloween artwork is drawn so that a jack-o’-lantern glowing beside scattered bats and a wide crescent moon reads clearly at any distance. The Halloween design is worked without breaks in coverage.

How long does the Halloween coaster set take for a beginner?

Roughly 30 to 45 minutes each for most people, so a full set is a few evenings rather than one sitting. The Halloween design is playful and seasonal, which tends to make it easier to work in short sessions. The Halloween design has no awkward stages that slow you down.

How hard is the Halloween design for someone new to diamond painting?

Yes. The symbol key is printed directly on the cork-backed base and the pictorial instructions walk through the whole process, so no prior diamond painting experience is needed. The Halloween layout is playful and seasonal, which helps on a first attempt. Every component ships in the same package.

These little coasters are the perfect size for a quick project. It’s a charming autumn piece and everyone comments on it. The holder is sturdy enough that I actually keep them in it. The edges could be sealed a bit better for daily use. It’s a slow, quiet hobby and I like that about it. Already ordered another one from DOTZSO. I’d recommend it with that one note.

Perfect little kit – not overwhelming like a full canvas. It’s a charming autumn piece and everyone comments on it. The holder doesn’t match the coasters exactly in finish. The cork backing is a nice touch, they don’t slide around on the table. I work on it while listening to an audiobook and the time just disappears. Worth buying, just plan for those small quirks.

Got a set for the office and they dress up my desk. I’ll be buying more from this shop. The pen that came with it is a bit flimsy, I swapped in my own. Mild quibbles, but a good purchase.

  4. Rosemarie Quinn –

I’ve made several sets of these now as gifts. The cork base means no scratches and no condensation rings. The holder doesn’t match the coasters exactly in finish. It photographs well, which is a bonus for sharing. Would order again despite the small issues.

Bought these for our patio table and they look charming. The finished piece looks far better than I expected. I wish the box were sturdier for storage. Good kit — the notes above are minor.

I’ve been eyeing this design for weeks and finally pulled the trigger. The chart was large enough to read without squinting. I’d have liked a few more spare drills in the pale colors. It’s my go-to when I need a quiet evening. Great value considering how many hours of enjoyment it gave me. Good kit overall, just a couple of small things.

This one caught my eye on the new arrivals page. The numbering was consistent across the whole canvas. I worked through it over several quiet evenings. They’ve held up well to daily coffee and tea. It only comes in sets, so I couldn’t buy a single extra. Small things aside, it’s a good buy.

  8. Jessica T. –

Bought it as a starter kit for myself and it worked out great. Cork on the bottom plus the drill top makes them feel solid. I’ve been doing it in the evenings with my partner, we take turns on sections. They’re a bit smaller than I pictured for a large tumbler. Made a set for my book club and everyone wanted the link. Good kit overall, just a couple of small things.

Bought a set to use at our lake house and ended up making all eight. They wipe clean easily, which matters with kids around. The multi-placer tip took some practice. They’ve become part of the everyday routine here. I’d order again, just knowing what to expect.

Perfect for when you want a finished project fast. The cork backing is properly attached, not just glued on the edges. I found the repetition genuinely calming rather than tedious. I wish the box were sturdier for storage. Worth buying, just plan for those small quirks.

  11. Katrina Wiley –

I wanted something I could finish in a sitting or two and these were it. They wipe clean easily, which matters with coffee and kids around. I worked on this with my mother and we both got absorbed in it. The canvas had a faint mark from the printing on one edge. Still a good kit overall.

Ordered this for a quiet weekend and it delivered. They stack away neatly when I want the table clear. The tray was smaller than I’d like for a big session. Overall happy, just a few small things.

  13. Linda C. (verified owner) –

I do these while dinner is in the oven. Great little time filler. Glue coverage was even, no dry patches anywhere. It fits perfectly with the decor in the guest room. They’re a bit smaller than I pictured for a large tumbler. Worth buying, just plan for those small quirks.

  14. Tasha Keller (verified owner) –

I made one the first night just to see how it went, then did the rest over the week. They’re a nice size for a standard mug, and even a wider tumbler fits. Really calming, repetitive work, and satisfying when a section is finished. Shipping took a bit longer than the estimate. Still a good kit overall.

  15. Erin Wilcox (verified owner) –

Bought a set for the camper and they’ve been great. The cork keeps them from sticking to the table when there’s condensation. Glue coverage was even, no dry patches anywhere. Keeps my hands busy during long flights and hotel evenings. Everyone who visits picks one up to look at it. They’re a bit small for a large tumbler. Happy with it, with one small caveat.

  16. Charlene Anderson –

This was my first diamond painting kit and I’m officially hooked. Nice thickness – not the flimsy cardboard kind. It’s my screen-free hour in the evening. Great housewarming gift, small and thoughtful. The tray included is on the small side. Good enough that I’d buy another.

  17. Thelma Mccormick (verified owner) –

I grabbed these to have something small to work on in the evenings. The finish on each coaster is consistent across the set. One of the 10 coasters had a slightly off-center print. I do it at the kitchen table while dinner simmers. Really pleased with how it turned out. Happy with it, with a few caveats.
