Why This Scary Style Set Earns Its Place on the Table

A Scary Style study built on layered horror motifs built around a central skull or mask, framed by dripping forms and shattered line work. The palette stays in bone white and blood red against dense black, and the piece keeps a bold and graphic register throughout. Bold horror graphics are for people who decorate Halloween seriously — subtlety is not the goal. It is aimed at homes where the small objects on the table have been chosen on purpose. Designed for Halloween statement walls, it holds up as decor rather than as something you finish and put in a drawer. Reference BD531. The drip and shatter lines are worked in contrasting bright drills, so the graphic elements read as cut out from the ground.

bold horror graphics are for people who decorate Halloween seriously — subtlety is not the goal. It is why the piece settles into Halloween statement walls without needing the rest of the scheme to match it.

Every DOTZSO diamond painting kit is built for people who want the make to feel calm and the result to be something they actually use. Contents: colour-printed canvas, DOTZSO resin drills, sorting tray, comfort-grip pen, wax caddy and illustrated step-by-step instructions.

The construction is deliberately simple: anti-slip body, cork backing, seated drill surface. That combination is what keeps the set out of a drawer.

The set runs to 10 coasters, each on the same cork-backed base for a consistent feel in the hand.

  • DOTZSO signature resin drills, sorted by colour (with extra drills included)
  • Diamond painting tray
  • Comfort-grip applicator pen
  • Wax caddy
  • Pictorial step-by-step instructions

How to Make It

  1. Unroll the canvas on a flat surface and let it settle under something weighted if it has been rolled tight.
  2. Find the legend strip and match the first symbol to its drill colour.
  3. Press the pen tip into the wax caddy, then touch it to a drill – the drill lifts and stays on the tip.
  4. Set the drill onto the matching printed symbol and press lightly. Work one coaster at a time rather than moving across the whole set.
  5. Complete all coasters, then press each finished surface flat with a book for an hour to seat every drill.
  6. Finally, leave the set on the table for a few hours before first use so the drills settle fully.

Complete the set over a few quiet evenings, then put it to work — these are made to be handled.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this coaster set self-contained, or does it need extra supplies?

Yes. The Halloween coaster set ships complete with the stand shown in the product images, so the coasters have somewhere to live when they are not in use, plus the DOTZSO resin drills, tray, applicator pen, wax caddy and pictorial instructions. Nothing else needs sourcing. Reference BD531.

Will the Halloween design wear well over time?

Once the drills are seated and the surface is sealed, the Halloween design holds under normal use. The cork-backed base is what stops condensation reaching the table, and the sealing step is the single biggest factor in how long the finish lasts. It holds its finish as long as it is not left soaking.

What should I avoid when cleaning the Halloween design?

Wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately. Do not submerge them or put them through a dishwasher — the adhesive layer under the drills is not built for a soak. For the Halloween palette, deep orange and ink black tones show dust less than pale grounds, so a light pass is usually enough. A microfibre cloth works well on the Halloween surface.

Is the drilling on the Halloween design continuous?

The drilled finish and palette are matched across the whole set, but each coaster carries its own printed motif. The Halloween artwork is drawn so that a jack-o’-lantern glowing beside scattered bats and a wide crescent moon reads clearly at any distance. The Halloween design leaves nothing unworked at the margins.

How long does the Halloween coaster set take to finish?

Roughly 30 to 45 minutes each for most people, so a full set is a few evenings rather than one sitting. The Halloween design is playful and seasonal, which tends to make it easier to work in short sessions. The Halloween layout allows you to stop and resume freely.

How much guidance does the Halloween design need?

Yes. The symbol key is printed directly on the cork-backed base and the pictorial instructions walk through the whole process, so no prior diamond painting experience is needed. The Halloween layout is playful and seasonal, which helps on a first attempt. Everything is supplied in the one pack.

  1. DesertDiamondArt (verified owner) –

Ordered on a Monday, had it by the weekend. The drills sit nice and flush, no gaps showing the surface underneath. One of the 10 coasters had a slightly off-center print. Nice mindful project – you can’t think about much else while you’re placing drills. Overall a good experience.

Honestly better quality than I expected for the price. The edges are finished cleanly, no rough spots. The holder is a little loose, the coasters rattle when you move it. Perfect for winding down before bed, much better than watching another show. Gave a set to my neighbor as a housewarming gift and she loved them. Still worth it overall.

Bought it for a rainy weekend and it was exactly what I needed. The cork backing is a nice touch, they don’t slide around on the table. Everything I needed was in the box – pen, wax, tray and tweezers. Wish the cork backing were a touch thicker. Really calming, repetitive work, and satisfying when a section is finished. They look lovely stacked in the holder on the coffee table. Minor things, but I’d still buy it again.

I keep coming back to this shop because the quality is consistent. They’re a nice size for a standard mug, and even a wider tumbler fits. The holder is a little loose, the coasters rattle when you move it. This is the kind of craft that’s genuinely calming after a hectic day. Still a solid purchase.

  5. Felicia Schaefer –

Was looking for a small diamond art project and these nailed it. A useful gift that people actually keep out. I’d have liked a few more spare drills in the pale colors. Happy enough that I’d buy another.

  6. Thelma Flood (verified owner) –

These were a housewarming gift and I nearly kept them. Nothing was crushed or bent in transit. Everything needed to finish was in the box, nothing extra to buy. I’ve been doing it in the evenings with my partner, we take turns on sections. Shipping took a few days longer than I expected. They stack away neatly when I want the table clear. Would order again despite the small issues.

Bought a set as a hostess gift and kept a set for myself. The holder fits all 10 pieces neatly, keeps them from getting lost. The holder doesn’t match the coasters exactly in finish. They look great on the sideboard and are genuinely useful. Overall a good experience.

Perfect little kit – not overwhelming like a full canvas. The edges are finished cleanly, no rough spots. It’s the kind of project that feels creative without being stressful. Some colors came with barely any extras, though I didn’t run out. The autumn pattern is what drew me in and it didn’t disappoint. Worth buying, just plan for those small quirks.

I’ve been doing these for about a year and this is a solid kit. Colors are distinct enough that I never mixed two shades up. I finished it over a couple of weekends. I wish the box were sturdier for storage. Still glad I ordered it overall.

  10. Sterling Garrett –

Perfect little kit – not overwhelming like a full canvas. The holder is sturdy enough that I actually keep them in it. There were extra drills left over in every color when I finished. I set it up next to the window and do a few rows whenever the light is good. Would make a really nice gift, and it arrives boxed nicely. Wish the cork backing were a touch thicker. Overall happy, just a few small things.

These are my go-to when I want a small craft that still feels rewarding. The cork backing is a nice touch, they don’t slide around on the table. Instructions were pretty minimal, though there are plenty of tutorials online. I worked through this over a few weeks of evenings and loved it. I’d recommend it with that one note.

  12. Adrian Cameron (verified owner) –

Bought a set for the camper and they’ve been great. Colors match the listing photo really closely. The backing held up fine and didn’t peel anywhere. I found it genuinely enjoyable rather than just something to finish. I’d prefer slightly thicker cork on the base. They’ve replaced the store-bought ones entirely. Overall happy, just a few small things.

I wanted coasters that didn’t look like everyone else’s and these fit. Great housewarming gift, small and thoughtful. The canvas had a faint mark from the printing on one edge. Would order again despite the small issues.

Ordered this for a quiet weekend and it delivered. They look lovely stacked in the holder on the coffee table. The printed chart could have been a touch larger. Overall happy, just a few small things.

Got these for the kitchen table and they look so cute. Colors match the listing photo really closely. Shipping took a bit longer than the estimate. I did this with my wife on the weekends and we both got into it. Small issues, but nothing that would stop me ordering again.

Got a set for the office and they dress up my desk. Good weight to the materials, it doesn’t feel cheap. Some colors had very few spare drills. It’s the kind of project that feels creative without being stressful. They look lovely stacked in the holder on the coffee table. Happy with it, with a few caveats.

These are my go-to when I want a small craft that still feels rewarding. Cork on the bottom plus the drill top makes them feel solid. I’ve been doing it in the evenings with my partner, we take turns on sections. Finished piece looks even better in person than in the listing photos. The edges could be sealed a little better for daily use. Overall happy, just a few small things.

This is my fourth kit from DOTZSO and the quality is holding up. Cork on the bottom plus the drill top makes them feel solid. I worked on this with my mother and we both got absorbed in it. The adhesive picked up a bit of dust while I was working over several days. I’d order again, just knowing what to expect.

  19. Grady Workman (verified owner) –

I wanted coasters that didn’t look like everyone else’s and these fit. I bring them out for guests and always get asked about them. They’re a bit smaller than I pictured for a large tumbler. Minor things, but I’d still buy it again.

  20. Antonio Welch (verified owner) –

Bought a set for the camper and they’ve been great. Each one took about an evening, quicker than I expected. Something about placing the drills is very settling. The finished piece looks far better than I expected. One of the 10 coasters had a slightly off-center print. Happy enough that I’d buy another.

  21. Vicki Nelson (verified owner) –

A friend recommended this shop and I see why. Glue coverage was even, no dry patches anywhere. The adhesive picked up lint over the days I worked on it. The repetitive motion is oddly satisfying, one of those simple pleasures. Still a good kit overall.

Perfect little kit – not overwhelming like a full canvas. Good weight to the materials, it doesn’t feel cheap. One of the 10 coasters had a slightly off-center print. Using them on the patio table and they’ve held up fine. Would still recommend it.
