What’s in the Box

  • 2 × colour-printed canvas
  • DOTZSO signature resin drills, sorted by colour (with extra drills included)
  • Diamond painting tray
  • Comfort-grip applicator pen
  • Wax caddy
  • Pictorial step-by-step instructions

How to Make It

  1. Unroll the canvas on a flat surface and let it settle under something weighted if it has been rolled tight.
  2. Find the legend strip and match the first symbol to its drill colour.
  3. Press the pen tip into the wax caddy, then touch it to a drill – the drill lifts and stays on the tip.
  4. Set the drill onto the matching printed symbol and press lightly. Work one colour block at a time rather than jumping around the canvas.
  5. Continue until the design is complete, then press the finished surface flat with a book for an hour to seat every drill.
  6. Seat the canvas in its frame, or store it flat, once the surface has been pressed.

Complete it in your own time, then frame it — a finished DOTZSO canvas is meant to be hung, not stored.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the diamond painting kit include everything visible in the product images?

Yes. The Abstract diamond painting kit ships complete with everything shown in the product images, so there is nothing else to source, plus the DOTZSO resin drills, tray, applicator pen, wax caddy and pictorial instructions. Nothing else needs sourcing. Reference Q4415 4414.

Does the Abstract finish stay intact under regular use?

Once the drills are seated and the surface is sealed, the Abstract design holds under normal use. The sealed surface handles normal handling, and the sealing step is the single biggest factor in how long the finish lasts. Coverage on the Abstract face does not degrade with use.

What care does the Abstract design require?

Wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately. Do not submerge it or put it through a dishwasher — the adhesive layer under the drills is not built for a soak. For the Abstract palette, muted terracotta, dusty blue and soft graphite resolved against an off-white ground tones show dust less than pale grounds, so a light pass is usually enough. There is no need for anything stronger than a damp cloth.

Is the Abstract piece fully covered or partly printed?

The round resin drills are colour-sorted and matched to the printed symbol key. The Abstract artwork is drawn so that overlapping colour fields drifting across the canvas reads clearly at any distance. The Abstract pattern carries to the outer edge.

Can the Abstract diamond painting kit be completed in a week of evenings?

Plan for two to four evenings, depending on the size of the canvas. The Abstract design is modern and understated, which tends to make it easier to work in short sessions. Progress is steady rather than dramatic on the Abstract piece.

Is the Abstract design suitable for a first project?

Yes. The symbol key is printed directly on the canvas and the pictorial instructions walk through the whole process, so no prior diamond painting experience is needed. The Abstract layout is modern and understated, which helps on a first attempt. The set is complete as shipped.

The color range on this one is impressive. The canvas came rolled, and it flattened out with no creases. The canvas smell was noticeable for the first day or two. The finished piece looks stunning in natural light. Still a solid purchase.

The detail on this canvas is what sold me. The canvas rolls flat after a night under a couple of books. The included pen wore out partway through. I chose this one for the abstract look. The finished piece looks far better than I expected. A solid purchase with a couple of notes.

  3. Ruben Benson (verified owner) –

Ordered on a Monday, had it by the weekend. It’s become one of my favorite things in the house. I’d have liked a paper chart as well as the printed one. Minor things, but I’d still buy it again.

  4. Harper Bonner (verified owner) –

Honestly better quality than I expected for the price. If you like contemporary designs, this is a good example. The glue is tacky enough that I can reposition if I misplace a drill. The glue was slightly tacky in one corner. The tray and tweezers included were better than I expected. I finished it faster than I expected because I kept coming back to it. It’s one of the nicest things I’ve made. Worth it despite the small things.

  5. Crystal K. (verified owner) –

I hung it in the hallway and people always ask where I got it. The abstract detail comes together really nicely once it’s finished. There were extra drills left over in every color when I finished. It’s the kind of project you feel good about finishing. The symbols are quite small in the detailed areas. Still a solid purchase.

  6. NightOwlCrafter (verified owner) –

The detail on this canvas is really nice up close. Colors match the listing photo really closely. I do this on the porch in the summer and it’s lovely. It’s hanging in my craft room now and looks great. The packaging was a little crushed on one corner. The contemporary subject is rendered with more detail than I expected. I’d recommend it with that one note.

  7. Faye Dyer (verified owner) –

I ordered this to fill a blank wall in the hallway. The abstract pattern is what made me choose this one. The canvas arrived folded rather than rolled, took a while to flatten. It’s the centerpiece of that wall. Still worth it overall.

  8. Miguel Flood (verified owner) –

Bought this to fill a blank wall and it did the job. I went with the abstract version and the colors are lovely. The drills came in labeled bags, which made sorting painless. The kit came with a comfortable pen and enough wax for the whole project. The canvas had a faint mark from the printing on one edge. I found it really peaceful to focus on one small area at a time. It looks like real art in a simple frame. Still a good kit overall.

  9. NewMomMakes –

This one took some patience but the result is stunning. The drills cover edge to edge with no bald spots. Good weight to the materials, it doesn’t feel cheap. Perfect for winding down before bed, much better than watching another show. The symbols are quite small in the detailed areas. It turned into something I actually want to display, not shove in a drawer. Good kit overall, just a couple of small things.

  10. Duane Doran –

Bought this for the living room wall and it was worth the time. The printed area is bordered, so framing is straightforward. I brought it on a week at the lake and finished most of it there. Pre-sorted drills would save time. Would still recommend it.

  11. Craig Obrien (verified owner) –

This kept me busy for a solid month in the best way. The glue is tacky enough to reposition a misplaced drill. The canvas had a slight crease from shipping, though it flattened out. Keeps my hands busy while I watch something. The abstract palette works really well with the design. Small issues, but nothing that would stop me ordering again.

  12. Lori G. (verified owner) –

Honestly better quality than I expected for the price. Gave it to my mom as a gift and it was a big hit. The symbols are quite small in the detailed areas. Still a solid purchase.

  13. Mandy Woods (verified owner) –

A bigger project than I’ve done before, but so worth the time. No missing colors and no shortage on the ones used most. The pen that came with it is a bit flimsy, I swapped in my own. The repetitive motion is oddly satisfying, one of those simple pleasures. Would still recommend it.

  14. Samantha Strong (verified owner) –

This one took some patience but the result is stunning. Hung it in the hallway and it brightens the whole space. The wax ran low before I finished the last section. Would still recommend it.

  15. June Walker (verified owner) –

I framed it once finished and it looks like real artwork. The glue is tacky enough that I can reposition if I misplace a drill. The contemporary motif makes it feel special. The glue picked up a bit of dust over the weeks I worked on it. It’s become the quiet part of my day that I look forward to. Good enough that I’d buy another.

  16. Scarlett Sexton (verified owner) –

This is my fourth kit from DOTZSO and the quality is holding up. The drills cover edge to edge with no bald spots. Some colors came with barely any extras, though I didn’t run out. I gave one to my parents and they were speechless. Minor things, but I’d still buy it again.

Added this to my cart at the last minute and I’m glad I did. Nice large format, the finished piece makes a real statement. The printed chart could have been a touch larger. It’s the nicest thing I’ve made so far. Would order again despite the small issues.

  18. Lena Moody (verified owner) –

Bought this as a birthday present to myself. Legend is printed on the canvas itself, which I find handy. A couple of the darker shades were hard to tell apart. It’s earned a spot on the wall. Would still recommend it.

This one caught my eye on the new arrivals page. I gave one to my parents and they were speechless. A couple of the darker shades were hard to tell apart. Happy with it, with a few caveats.

  20. Jose Ratliff –

Ordered this after finishing a smaller canvas and wanting more detail. There’s enough white space at the border for framing without cropping. I work on it while listening to an audiobook and the time just disappears. It’s the centerpiece of that wall. The canvas smell was noticeable for the first day or two. I’d order again, just knowing what to expect.

  21. Grace Meyer (verified owner) –

Was looking for something to do with my hands in the evenings. The pen and wax worked fine, I didn’t need to dig out my own tools. The abstract piece really pulls the room together once it’s hung. The canvas had a slight crease from shipping, though it flattened out. Framed in a simple black frame and it looks like real art. Still a solid purchase.
