About This Landscape Design

The Landscape artwork on this canvas frames a layered vista of ridgelines receding into low mist, with a still lake catching the sky and pine slopes anchoring both banks, worked in cool pine green and slate blue with a band of warm light at the horizon. The overall character is expansive and quiet rather than theatrical. Landscape work is the most forgiving motif to live with — it never dates and it never demands the room match it. It is aimed at makers who care about the finish as much as the process. Designed for living rooms and reading corners, it holds up as decor rather than as something you finish and put in a drawer. Reference Q4426-Q4431. Landscape work is the most forgiving motif to live with — it never dates and it never demands the room match it. landscape work is the most forgiving motif to live with — it never dates and it never demands the room match it. In practice that means the finished piece sits comfortably in living rooms and reading corners, where the expansive character of the palette does the decorating for you.

DOTZSO makes these kits so the evening passes without a screen and the wall ends up with something on it. What arrives: a colour-printed canvas, DOTZSO resin drills, a sorting tray, a comfort-grip applicator pen, a wax caddy and pictorial guidance.

The finished surface is only as good as the placement. Working methodically through the colour blocks is what gives the canvas its even, sharp finish.

Each of the 6 canvases has its own printed key, so nothing needs to be guessed.

What’s in the Box

  • 6 × colour-printed canvas
  • DOTZSO signature resin drills, sorted by colour (with extra drills included)
  • Diamond painting tray
  • Comfort-grip applicator pen
  • Wax caddy
  • Pictorial step-by-step instructions

How to Make It

  1. Unroll the canvas on a flat surface and let it settle under something weighted if it has been rolled tight.
  2. Find the legend strip and match the first symbol to its drill colour.
  3. Press the pen tip into the wax caddy, then touch it to a drill – the drill lifts and stays on the tip.
  4. Set the drill onto the matching printed symbol and press lightly. Work one colour block at a time rather than jumping around the canvas.
  5. Continue until the design is complete, then press the finished surface flat with a book for an hour to seat every drill.
  6. Seat the canvas in its frame, or store it flat, once the surface has been pressed.

Take it section by section, then frame the finished piece and hang it properly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the diamond painting kit a full set or a partial one?

Yes. The Landscape diamond painting kit ships complete with everything shown in the product images, so there is nothing else to source, plus the DOTZSO resin drills, tray, applicator pen, wax caddy and pictorial instructions. Nothing else needs sourcing. Reference Q4426-Q4431.

Will the Landscape diamond painting kit look the same after a year of use?

Once the drills are seated and the surface is sealed, the Landscape design holds under normal use. The sealed surface handles normal handling, and the sealing step is the single biggest factor in how long the finish lasts. Normal wear leaves the Landscape surface unaffected.

How do I clean around the drills on the Landscape diamond painting kit?

Wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately. Do not submerge it or put it through a dishwasher — the adhesive layer under the drills is not built for a soak. For the Landscape palette, cool pine green and slate blue tones show dust less than pale grounds, so a light pass is usually enough. Regular light cleaning keeps the Landscape finish crisp.

Is the Landscape surface fully worked, or is it a partial-drill piece?

The round resin drills are colour-sorted and matched to the printed symbol key. The Landscape artwork is drawn so that a layered vista of ridgelines receding into low mist reads clearly at any distance. No part of the Landscape face is left as bare board.

How long is the Landscape design from start to finish?

Plan for two to four evenings, depending on the size of the canvas. The Landscape design is expansive and quiet, which tends to make it easier to work in short sessions. The Landscape piece suits evenings rather than a full day.

Is prior diamond painting experience needed for the Landscape design?

Yes. The symbol key is printed directly on the canvas and the pictorial instructions walk through the whole process, so no prior diamond painting experience is needed. The Landscape layout is expansive and quiet, which helps on a first attempt. The kit arrives ready to begin.

The detail on this canvas is really nice up close. The pen and wax worked fine, I didn’t need to dig out my own tools. Great value for what you get. The symbols are quite small in the detailed areas. Happy with it, with a few caveats.

This kept me busy for a solid month in the best way. I picked the scenery version and the colors are lovely. It fills the wall above the sofa nicely. The canvas smell was noticeable for the first day or two. Minor things, but I’d still buy it again.

This was my first full size canvas and it turned out better than I hoped. The scenery artwork looks great up on the wall. The symbols are quite small in the detailed areas. The canvas feels substantial, not thin or flimsy. Framed in a simple black frame and it looks like real art. Still a solid purchase.

I ordered this to fill a blank wall in the hallway. The scenery motif makes it feel special. I’ll be ordering from this shop again. The canvas had a slight crease from shipping, though it flattened out. Worth buying, just plan for those small quirks.

  5. Ike Lloyd (verified owner) –

I wanted something substantial enough to last a few weeks. It’s the kind of thing people ask about when they see it. A few bags weren’t labeled as clearly as the rest. Solid overall, just a couple of nitpicks.

I keep a project going at all times and this is the current one. Looks lovely framed and hung up. The symbols are small in the detailed areas. The scenery artwork looks great up on the wall. Minor things, but I’d still buy it again.

This is the largest kit I’ve done and it turned out beautifully. It looks like a gallery print from across the room. The canvas had a slight crease from shipping, though it flattened out. Worth it despite the small things.

  8. Elton Everett (verified owner) –

Took me a few weeks of evenings and I loved every minute. Drills cover edge to edge with no bald spots. Surprisingly calming, even for someone with a short attention span. It’s on the wall in my office and I still look at it. Instructions were minimal, though it’s easy enough to figure out. Small things aside, it’s a good buy.

  9. Brian C. (verified owner) –

Bought it as a starter kit for myself and it worked out great. Symbols are printed clearly even in the busy areas of the landscape section. Some colors came with barely any extras, though I didn’t run out. I take it to my book club and work on it while we chat. Minor things, but I’d still buy it again.

I framed mine and it looks like a real painting. It gets complimented every time someone new sees it. The packaging arrived a little dented. Happy with it despite the small stuff.

Took it slow, a section at a time, and really enjoyed the process. The adhesive is plenty sticky, the drills stay exactly where I put them. It’s my go-to when I need a quiet evening. The packaging arrived a little dented. Still worth it overall.

Such an easy kit to get going with. The canvas printing is crisp and the symbols are easy to read, even in low light. It looks like a gallery piece now that it’s framed. Instructions were minimal, though it’s easy enough to figure out. I’d recommend it with that one note.

I’m a repeat DOTZSO customer at this point and this kit did not disappoint. The scenery artwork looks great up on the wall. Once it was framed it really pulled the room together. The sorting tray is shallow, drills spill out if you’re not careful. Good kit overall, just a couple of small things.

  14. Jacob Henderson (verified owner) –

The color range on this one is impressive. The canvas rolls flat after a night under a couple of books. The wax ran out before I finished and I had to use my own. It looks stunning in natural light. A good buy, with one or two caveats.

  15. Bryan Wu (verified owner) –

The color range on this one is impressive. The canvas laid flat after a day under a couple of books. The repetitive motion is oddly satisfying, one of those simple pleasures. Pre-sorted drills would save time. Overall happy, just a few small things.

  16. Lauren Wright (verified owner) –

Bought this as a centerpiece project for the season. The canvas didn’t dry out over the weeks I worked on it. I set aside twenty minutes a night for this and it’s become a ritual. The adhesive attracted a little dust over the weeks. It looks stunning in natural light. Worth it despite the small things.

This arrived in perfect condition, nothing bent or spilled. The scenery detail comes together really nicely once it’s finished. It was worth every evening I spent on it. The glue picked up a bit of dust over the weeks I worked on it. Happy with it, with a few caveats.

Second time ordering this style, still happy with it. The legend printed on the canvas is handy to have. The wax ran low before I finished the last section. I’ve been doing it in the evenings with my partner, we take turns on sections. It looks stunning in natural light. Happy with it, with one small caveat.

A bigger project than I’ve done before, but so worth the time. Full drill coverage means no blank canvas showing. I take it to my book club and work on it while we chat. The adhesive picked up a bit of dust while I was working over several days. Really proud to have this hanging in the house. Happy with it, with a few caveats.

This kept me busy for a solid month in the best way. Full drill coverage means no blank canvas showing. Perfect for slow evenings when you don’t want more screen time. The scenery motif makes it feel special. Pre-sorted drills would save time. Happy with it, with one small caveat.

  21. Bill Cornish (verified owner) –

Picked this up as a small reward after a long quarter at work. I chose this one for the landscape look. The canvas grid lines are printed clearly enough to keep count. Perfect for a cozy evening in when you want to keep your hands busy. It looks like a gallery piece now that it\’s framed. I had to press the canvas under books overnight before starting. Still worth it overall.

  22. Tammy Russell –

Came across this while looking for craft ideas and bought it that day. Colors match the listing photo really closely. Really soothing to focus on one small area at a time. The symbols are quite small in the detailed areas. Happy enough that I’d buy another.

  23. Gerald Lake (verified owner) –

Bought this as a centerpiece project for the season. The glue is tacky enough that I can reposition if I misplace a drill. Some colors came with barely any extras, though I didn’t run out. Keeps my hands busy while I watch something. Good enough that I’d buy another.

I framed mine and it looks like a real painting. There’s enough margin on the edges for framing. Worth the time it took. The symbols are quite small in the detailed areas. The landscape palette works really well with the design. Still a good kit overall.

  25. Ted Brewer (verified owner) –

I’ve had my eye on this design since last season. The canvas is a good weight and the print underneath is detailed. It’s become my evening ritual – an hour of this and I feel settled. The packaging was a little crushed on one corner. Would order again despite the small issues.
