About This Beach Design

The Beach artwork on this canvas frames a shoreline at low tide with wet sand reflections, scattered shells and dune grass bending toward the water, worked in pale sand and driftwood tones against soft sea blue and a washed-out sky. The overall character is sun-warmed and easy rather than theatrical. Beach scenes extend the season indoors — they suit a coastal home long after the summer ends. It is aimed at makers who want a canvas detailed enough to frame rather than store. Designed for coastal homes and summer styling, it holds up as decor rather than as something you finish and put in a drawer. Reference Q4842. beach scenes extend the season indoors — they suit a coastal home long after the summer ends. Hung in coastal homes and summer styling, the sun-warmed palette does the work and the artwork stays understated.

A DOTZSO kit is put together so the process stays unhurried and the finished canvas is worth framing. Along with the canvas come DOTZSO resin drills, a sorting tray, a comfort-grip applicator pen, a wax caddy and pictorial steps.

A good canvas print is half the finished result. This one is produced so the symbols stay legible through a long project rather than fading at the edges.

Supplied as 1 separate canvases, so the set can be worked one design at a time.

What’s in the Box

  • 1 × colour-printed canvas
  • DOTZSO signature resin drills, sorted by colour (with extra drills included)
  • Diamond painting tray
  • Comfort-grip applicator pen
  • Wax caddy
  • Pictorial step-by-step instructions

How to Make It

  1. Unroll the canvas on a flat surface and let it settle under something weighted if it has been rolled tight.
  2. Find the legend strip and match the first symbol to its drill colour.
  3. Press the pen tip into the wax caddy, then touch it to a drill – the drill lifts and stays on the tip.
  4. Set the drill onto the matching printed symbol and press lightly. Work one colour block at a time rather than jumping around the canvas.
  5. Continue until the design is complete, then press the finished surface flat with a book for an hour to seat every drill.
  6. Seat the canvas in its frame, or store it flat, once the surface has been pressed.

Work through it colour by colour, then frame the canvas and hang it where it gets seen.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I need to buy anything else to finish this diamond painting kit?

Yes. The Beach diamond painting kit ships complete with everything shown in the product images, so there is nothing else to source, plus the DOTZSO resin drills, tray, applicator pen, wax caddy and pictorial instructions. Nothing else needs sourcing. Reference Q4842.

Does the Beach finish remain even with use?

Once the drills are seated and the surface is sealed, the Beach design holds under normal use. The sealed surface handles normal handling, and the sealing step is the single biggest factor in how long the finish lasts. Nothing in the Beach assembly works loose under normal handling.

What care keeps the Beach design at its best?

Wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately. Do not submerge it or put it through a dishwasher — the adhesive layer under the drills is not built for a soak. For the Beach palette, pale sand and driftwood tones against soft sea blue and a washed-out sky tones show dust less than pale grounds, so a light pass is usually enough. A soft brush reaches the texture between drills.

Is the drill pattern on the Beach diamond painting kit complete or selective?

The round resin drills are colour-sorted and matched to the printed symbol key. The Beach artwork is drawn so that a shoreline at low tide with wet sand reflections reads clearly at any distance. All of the Beach face is drill-covered.

What is the typical completion time for the Beach design?

Plan for two to four evenings, depending on the size of the canvas. The Beach design is sun-warmed and easy, which tends to make it easier to work in short sessions. Progress on the Beach piece is visibly steady.

Is the Beach diamond painting kit fine for absolute beginners?

Yes. The symbol key is printed directly on the canvas and the pictorial instructions walk through the whole process, so no prior diamond painting experience is needed. The Beach layout is sun-warmed and easy, which helps on a first attempt. All the essentials come in the box.

This one took some patience but the result is stunning. Symbol letters are small but legible, and the legend helped a lot. The canvas came rolled, and it flattened out with no creases. I brought it on a week at the lake and finished most of it there. The landscape palette is softer in person, which I actually prefer. Would make a really nice gift, and it arrives boxed nicely. The pen that came with it is a bit flimsy, I swapped in my own. Good kit overall, just a couple of small things.

Took it slow, a section at a time, and really enjoyed the process. Really happy with the end result. Instructions were pretty minimal, though there are plenty of tutorials online. I picked the landscape version and the colors are lovely. Overall a good experience.

Bought it for a rainy weekend and it was exactly what I needed. Full drill coverage means no blank canvas showing through. I’ve had three people ask me where I bought it. The symbols are quite small in the detailed areas. Still a solid purchase.

  4. April Livingston (verified owner) –

Bought this for the living room wall and it was worth the time. The canvas didn’t dry out over the weeks I worked on it. The glue was slightly tacky in one corner. The tropical pattern is what made me choose this one. The finished piece looks stunning in natural light. Overall happy, just a few small things.

  5. Keith Hendrix –

This canvas has enough going on to stay interesting for weeks. The printed canvas is genuinely crisp, even in the dense areas. The drills arrived clean, not stuck together in clumps. The packaging arrived a little dented. A peaceful project that fits into whatever time you have. It’s the nicest thing I’ve made so far. Minor things, but I’d still buy it again.

  6. Susan T. –

Second time ordering this style, still happy with it. Legend is printed on the canvas itself, which I find handy. Symbol letters are small but legible, and the legend helped a lot. The repetitive motion is oddly satisfying, one of those simple pleasures. Took me a while to get the hang of the multi-placer tip. The finished piece gets compliments from everyone who visits. Happy with it, with a few caveats.

Ordered two of these and gave one away as a gift. The palm tree subject matter is right up my street. Nice large format, the finished piece makes a real statement. It took longer than the estimate, though that’s on me. It’s framed and on the wall now. Would buy again; the notes are minor.

  8. Janet T. (verified owner) –

The detail on this canvas is really nice up close. It fits perfectly with the decor in the reading nook. The landscape palette is softer in person, which I actually prefer. The glue picked up a bit of dust over the weeks I worked on it. Minor things, but I’d still buy it again.

  9. Ravi W. (verified owner) –

Bigger than it looks in the photos, which was a nice surprise. The canvas didn’t dry out over the weeks I worked on it. Did most of it over a long weekend and it was such a pleasant way to pass the time. Some colors came with barely any extras, though I didn’t run out. It’s hanging in the living room now and looks great. The scenery detail comes together really nicely once it’s finished. Would order again despite the small issues.

  10. StudioSnippets (verified owner) –

This was my first full size canvas and it turned out better than I hoped. The canvas came rolled, and it flattened out with no creases. The finish is even across the whole piece. Did most of it over a long weekend and it was such a pleasant way to pass the time. A few drills were stuck together and needed separating. It’s framed and hanging above the couch. Mild quibbles, but a good purchase.

  11. Everett London (verified owner) –

This is my first large-format kit and the pacing works well. The definition in the fine details holds up well. The canvas arrived rolled tightly and needed a night to flatten. Framed in a simple black frame and it looks like real art. Mild quibbles, but a good purchase.

  12. Frances Harding (verified owner) –

I hung it in the hallway and people always ask where I got it. There’s enough margin on the edges for framing. Packaging was tidy and nothing had spilled in transit. It’s a lovely quiet hobby, and I like having something to show for it at the end. This is a lovely palm tree piece for the price. It’s hanging in the kitchen now and looks great. The symbols are small in the detailed areas. Happy with it, with a few caveats.

This one required patience and rewarded it. The kit came complete, nothing extra needed from the craft store. It took longer than the estimate, though that’s on me. Great for unwinding after a busy week. It looks like a gallery piece now that it’s framed. Happy with it, with one small caveat.

This arrived in perfect condition, nothing bent or spilled. It’s a nice conversation piece when people visit. The pen that came with it is a bit flimsy, I swapped in my own. Still a good kit overall.

I’m a repeat DOTZSO customer at this point and this kit did not disappoint. Drills cover edge to edge with no bald spots. The multi-placer tip took some practice. Framed in a simple black frame and it looks like real art. Overall happy, just a few small things.

I’m a repeat DOTZSO customer at this point and this kit did not disappoint. Good quality drills with clean edges, not chipped. I had to press the canvas under books overnight before starting. Keeps my hands busy during long flights and hotel evenings. A solid purchase with a couple of notes.

This one required patience and rewarded it. It’s the nicest thing I’ve made so far. The packaging was a little crushed on one corner. Worth it despite the small things.

  18. Darrell Morton (verified owner) –

Ordered this after finishing a smaller canvas and wanting more detail. Nothing was crushed or bent in transit. Each color was in its own pouch, clearly numbered. The wax ran out before I finished and I had to use my own. I found the repetition genuinely calming rather than tedious. It’s up in the hallway and gets noticed. Minor gripes aside, I’d buy it again.

Bought this to fill a blank wall and it did the job. The adhesive held well across several weeks of working on it. It’s become the quiet part of my day that I look forward to. Some colors had very few spare drills. Still a good kit overall.

  20. Monica Jennings (verified owner) –

So glad I added this one to my cart. The canvas didn’t dry out over the weeks I worked on it. The adhesive picked up lint over the days I worked on it. I gave one to my parents and they were speechless. Good kit overall, just a couple of small things.

I bought this for our weekend place and it’s been a hit. The tropical palette works really well with the design. The printed colors underneath match the drills closely. It brightens the whole hallway. I’d have liked a paper chart as well as the printed one. Minor quibbles aside, I’d buy it again.

Bought this to fill a blank wall and it did the job. No missing colors and no shortage on the ones used most. A couple of the darker shades were hard to tell apart in low light. This one is going straight on the wall. A solid purchase with a couple of notes.
