Cat diamond painting kit by DOTZSO — a cat settled in profile with tail wrapped forward in warm greys and soft browns. About This Cat Design

This canvas takes a cat settled in profile with tail wrapped forward, fur rendered in overlapping short strokes across the flank and chest as its subject, rendered in warm greys and soft browns with bright eye highlights against a tonal background. The mood settles at calm and companionable, which is what keeps it easy to live with. Cat portraits sell because the owner already has a relationship with the subject — the canvas just holds it. It is for people who relax through repetitive, hands-busy work. Designed for bedrooms and home offices, it holds up as decor rather than as something you finish and put in a drawer. Reference Q4857. cat portraits sell because the owner already has a relationship with the subject — the canvas just holds it, and the treatment of the colour is what carries it.

What’s in the Box

  • 1 × colour-printed canvas
  • DOTZSO signature resin drills, sorted by colour (with extra drills included)
  • Diamond painting tray
  • Comfort-grip applicator pen
  • Wax caddy
  • Pictorial step-by-step instructions

How to Make It

  1. Unroll the canvas on a flat surface and let it settle under something weighted if it has been rolled tight.
  2. Find the legend strip and match the first symbol to its drill colour.
  3. Press the pen tip into the wax caddy, then touch it to a drill – the drill lifts and stays on the tip.
  4. Set the drill onto the matching printed symbol and press lightly. Work one colour block at a time rather than jumping around the canvas.
  5. Continue until the design is complete, then press the finished surface flat with a book for an hour to seat every drill.
  6. Seat the canvas in its frame, or store it flat, once the surface has been pressed.

Finish it at an unhurried pace, then frame it — the canvas is built to be displayed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the diamond painting kit complete, or is the base sold separately?

Yes. The Cat diamond painting kit ships complete with everything shown in the product images, so there is nothing else to source, plus the DOTZSO resin drills, tray, applicator pen, wax caddy and pictorial instructions. Nothing else needs sourcing. Reference Q4857.

Will the Cat finish dull or lift with use?

Once the drills are seated and the surface is sealed, the Cat design holds under normal use. The sealed surface handles normal handling, and the sealing step is the single biggest factor in how long the finish lasts. The resin drills bond firmly across the Cat pattern.

Is there a wrong way to clean the Cat diamond painting kit?

Wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately. Do not submerge it or put it through a dishwasher — the adhesive layer under the drills is not built for a soak. For the Cat palette, warm greys and soft browns tones show dust less than pale grounds, so a light pass is usually enough. Keep the Cat piece away from standing water.

How dense is the drilling on the Cat design?

The round resin drills are colour-sorted and matched to the printed symbol key. The Cat artwork is drawn so that a cat settled in profile with tail wrapped forward reads clearly at any distance. There is no printed fill showing through on the Cat design.

Is the Cat diamond painting kit a quick make or a longer project?

Plan for two to four evenings, depending on the size of the canvas. The Cat design is calm and companionable, which tends to make it easier to work in short sessions. The Cat layout is easy to put down and pick up again.

Would I cope with the Cat design as a novice?

Yes. The symbol key is printed directly on the canvas and the pictorial instructions walk through the whole process, so no prior diamond painting experience is needed. The Cat layout is calm and companionable, which helps on a first attempt. No separate tools are required.

Ordered this to work on through the winter evenings. The canvas doesn’t curl at the corners after working on it. Hung it in the hallway and it brightens the whole space. The glue picked up a bit of dust over the weeks I worked on it. A solid purchase with a couple of notes.

So glad I added this one to my cart. It’s one of the nicest things I’ve made. The canvas arrived folded rather than rolled, took a while to flatten. Good kit overall, just a couple of small things.

I wanted a full-size piece for the wall above the couch. Full drill coverage means no blank canvas showing through. Great value considering how many hours of enjoyment it gave me. I’d have liked the border a touch wider for framing. Still worth it overall.

  4. Leo M. (verified owner) –

Took it slow, a section at a time, and really enjoyed the process. Looks lovely framed and hung up. There were slightly more drills than needed, so it took longer than planned. Worth buying, just plan for those small quirks.

I added this to my cart at 11pm and had zero regrets the next morning. The tweezers included were actually good quality. One section had a lot of similar shades, which slowed me down. The kitty motif makes it feel special. It’s up in the hallway and gets noticed. Minor quibbles aside, I’d buy it again.

  6. Jasmine C. (verified owner) –

Took it slow, a section at a time, and really enjoyed the process. The kitty design is even prettier in person than in the photos. Symbols are printed clearly even in the busy areas of the kitty section. The canvas had a slight crease from shipping, though it flattened out. Made this as a gift for my parents’ anniversary. I’d recommend it with that one note.

Came quickly and was packaged really well. The fabric has a good weight to it and hangs flat. The canvas had a slight crease from shipping, though it flattened out. Made this as a gift for my parents’ anniversary. Still worth it overall.

Such a nice little project to have on the go. Framed in a simple black frame and it looks like real art. The kitty piece really pulls the room together once it’s hung. The glue picked up a bit of dust over the weeks I worked on it. Overall a good experience.

  9. Vanessa A. (verified owner) –

This kept me busy for a solid month in the best way. Full drill coverage means no blank canvas showing through. It’s a charming cat piece and everyone comments on it. Really relaxing to do in the evening instead of scrolling. The sorting tray is shallow, drills spill out if you’re not careful. It’s framed and hanging in our the bedroom now. Still worth it overall.

  10. Olga Knowles (verified owner) –

Took me about a month of evenings and I’d do it again. The overall composition reads clearly from across the room. If you like cat designs, this is a good example. Shipping took a few days longer than I expected. I settled into a rhythm after the first section. Framed in a simple black frame and it looks like real art. Happy with it despite the small stuff.

  11. Constance Collins (verified owner) –

Picked this up during a sale and it was money well spent. The canvas printing is crisp and the symbols are easy to read, even in low light. The symbols on the chart were easy to follow from start to finish. Instructions were minimal, though it’s easy enough to figure out. Keeps my hands busy during long flights and hotel evenings. It fills the wall exactly the way I hoped. A solid purchase with a couple of notes.

  12. Janet Wells (verified owner) –

Bigger than it looks in the photos, which was a nice surprise. It’s a nice conversation piece when people visit. The canvas smell was noticeable for the first day or two. Still a solid purchase.

  13. Caroline Ervin –

Took me a few weeks of evenings and I loved every minute. The canvas is a good weight with a detailed print underneath. The kit came with a comfortable pen and enough wax for the whole project. I found it genuinely enjoyable rather than just something to finish. It fits perfectly with the decor in in my reading nook. The symbols are quite small in the detailed areas. Small issues, but nothing that would stop me ordering again.

Bought this to do with my daughter on rainy days. Nice large format, the finished piece makes a real statement. It took longer than the estimate, though that’s on me. I gave one to my parents and they were speechless. I’d order it again knowing what I know now.

  15. Kara Ortega (verified owner) –

Ordered two of these and gave one away as a gift. Gave it to my brother as a gift and it went over really well. Took longer than the estimated time, but that’s on me. The kitty palette works really well with the design. Happy with it, with a few caveats.

  16. Trisha Barnes (verified owner) –

This is the largest kit I’ve done and it turned out beautifully. The canvas came rolled, and it flattened out with no creases. I worked through this over a few weeks of evenings and loved it. If this style appeals to you, it delivers. One bag of drills had come open in transit. I’d order again, just knowing what to expect.

Bought this to fill a blank wall and it did the job. It’s the centerpiece of that wall. The adhesive attracted a little dust over the weeks. Would still recommend it.

  18. Ira Woods (verified owner) –

Ordered two of these and gave one away as a gift. Packaging was tidy and nothing had spilled in transit. I set it up next to the window and do a few rows whenever the light is good. A few drills had rough edges that needed picking off. Minor things, but I’d still buy it again.

  19. Guy Sargent (verified owner) –

A bigger project than I’ve done before, but so worth the time. The kitty detail is impressive up close. Color count is higher than my earlier kits, which shows in the finished piece. I find it relaxing to just follow the chart and let my mind wander. Only small gripe is that a few drills had little burrs on them. Once framed it looks like something you’d buy in a gallery. Happy enough that I’d buy another.

  20. Rodolfo Powell –

This kept me busy through the whole winter. Full drill coverage means no blank canvas showing. I did most of it over a lazy weekend and enjoyed every minute. The canvas smell was noticeable for the first day or two. I gave one to my sister and she immediately ordered her own. Overall happy, just a few small things.

  21. Alana Crawford (verified owner) –

Bought this to fill a blank wall and it did the job. The canvas is a good weight with a detailed print underneath. Nice to have something that gets me off my phone for a while. The canvas had a faint mark from the printing on one edge. Small issues, but nothing that would stop me ordering again.

  22. Willa Whitehead (verified owner) –

This was my first full size canvas and it turned out better than I hoped. Nice large format, the finished piece makes a real statement. Pre-sorted drills would save time. A peaceful project that fits into whatever time you have. It gets compliments from everyone who sees it. Overall a good experience.

Ordered two of these and gave one away as a gift. The canvas grid lines are printed clearly enough to keep count. Only small gripe is that a few drills had little burrs on them. I work on it after dinner and it helps me switch off. The cat artwork looks great up on the wall. Still a solid purchase.

Bought this after finishing my last kit and it was a good call. The colors tie the room together. I’d have liked a paper chart as well as the printed one. Worth buying, just plan for those small quirks.
