About This Mushroom Design

A cluster of woodland mushrooms at varying heights, caps domed and gilled, ringed by moss, ferns and scattered leaf litter forms the subject of this Mushroom piece, worked in earthy reds, ochres and deep greens with cream gills and stems. The character is woodland and cosy, and it stays that way at any distance. Mushroom imagery has moved from seasonal novelty to year-round decor, and the woodland palette is why. It suits anyone who prefers a slow, screen-free project to another hour of scrolling. Designed for reading nooks and autumn styling, it holds up as decor rather than as something you finish and put in a drawer. Reference Q4217. Mushroom imagery has moved from seasonal novelty to year-round decor, and the woodland palette is why.

mushroom imagery has moved from seasonal novelty to year-round decor, and the woodland palette is why. In reading nooks and autumn styling the piece holds its own against the surrounding colour rather than fighting it.

Every DOTZSO diamond painting kit is made for steady, screen-free sessions that end with something you can hang. Contents include a colour-printed canvas, DOTZSO resin drills, a sorting tray, a comfort-grip pen, a wax caddy and illustrated instructions.

Consistent coverage is the goal, and full drill is how it is achieved. Nothing is left bare, so the surface reflects evenly across the whole piece.

The kit includes 1 canvases, which extends the project well beyond a single session.

What’s in the Box

  • 1 × colour-printed canvas
  • DOTZSO signature resin drills, sorted by colour (with extra drills included)
  • Diamond painting tray
  • Comfort-grip applicator pen
  • Wax caddy
  • Pictorial step-by-step instructions

How to Make It

  1. Unroll the canvas on a flat surface and let it settle under something weighted if it has been rolled tight.
  2. Find the legend strip and match the first symbol to its drill colour.
  3. Press the pen tip into the wax caddy, then touch it to a drill – the drill lifts and stays on the tip.
  4. Set the drill onto the matching printed symbol and press lightly. Work one colour block at a time rather than jumping around the canvas.
  5. Continue until the design is complete, then press the finished surface flat with a book for an hour to seat every drill.
  6. Seat the canvas in its frame, or store it flat, once the surface has been pressed.

Complete it in your own time, then frame it — a finished DOTZSO canvas is meant to be hung, not stored.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is anything in the diamond painting kit sold separately?

Yes. The Mushroom diamond painting kit ships complete with everything shown in the product images, so there is nothing else to source, plus the DOTZSO resin drills, tray, applicator pen, wax caddy and pictorial instructions. Nothing else needs sourcing. Reference Q4217.

Is the Mushroom surface tough enough for daily contact?

Once the drills are seated and the surface is sealed, the Mushroom design holds under normal use. The sealed surface handles normal handling, and the sealing step is the single biggest factor in how long the finish lasts. The Mushroom surface tolerates being picked up and moved.

Does the Mushroom diamond painting kit need special care?

Wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately. Do not submerge it or put it through a dishwasher — the adhesive layer under the drills is not built for a soak. For the Mushroom palette, earthy reds, ochres and deep greens tones show dust less than pale grounds, so a light pass is usually enough. A microfibre cloth works well on the Mushroom surface.

Does the Mushroom design rely on printed detail anywhere?

The round resin drills are colour-sorted and matched to the printed symbol key. The Mushroom artwork is drawn so that a cluster of woodland mushrooms at varying heights reads clearly at any distance. The Mushroom surface is worked as one continuous piece.

What is the pace like on the Mushroom diamond painting kit?

Plan for two to four evenings, depending on the size of the canvas. The Mushroom design is woodland and cosy, which tends to make it easier to work in short sessions. The Mushroom pattern is easy to work in short bursts.

Is the Mushroom diamond painting kit a reasonable starting project?

Yes. The symbol key is printed directly on the canvas and the pictorial instructions walk through the whole process, so no prior diamond painting experience is needed. The Mushroom layout is woodland and cosy, which helps on a first attempt. The kit is complete on delivery.

Exactly what the listing described, no surprises. Full drill coverage means no blank canvas showing through. The pen that came with it is a bit flimsy, I swapped in my own. Quiet Sunday mornings with this and a coffee is my favorite part of the week. Overall a good experience.

I picked this up on a whim and ended up really enjoying it. It fits perfectly with the decor in the guest room. The glue picked up a bit of dust over the weeks I worked on it. I’d recommend it with that one note.

  3. Eugene Mcconnell (verified owner) –

This canvas has enough going on to stay interesting for weeks. The adhesive held firmly without any lifting at the edges. The symbols are quite small in the detailed areas. Great for unwinding after a busy week. I’ll be buying more from this shop. Small issues, but nothing that would stop me ordering again.

  4. Shannon Albright –

Bought this as a centerpiece project for the season. I’m a sucker for anything cottagecore-themed. Extra drills were included for every color, which I appreciated. I’d have liked a paper chart as well as the printed one. I like that it’s creative without requiring any decisions. Worth buying, just plan for those small quirks.

  5. Hope Donahue (verified owner) –

The detail on this canvas is really nice up close. The printed colors underneath match the drills closely. The wax ran low before I finished the last section. I keep it by my chair and pick it up whenever I have a few minutes. I’d order again, just knowing what to expect.

  6. Gavin Duke (verified owner) –

Took me a few weeks of evenings and I loved every minute. The definition in the fine details holds up well. The tray included is on the small side. It looks like a gallery print from across the room. Worth it, just go in with the right expectations.

  7. Olivia E. –

Took it slow, a section at a time, and really enjoyed the process. Gave it to my aunt as a gift and it went over really well. The mushroom palette is softer in person, which I actually prefer. The packaging was a little crushed on one corner. Would order again despite the small issues.

  8. Lori Bowden (verified owner) –

This arrived in perfect condition, nothing bent or spilled. The canvas rolls flat after a night under a couple of books. Really relaxing to do in the evening instead of scrolling. The adhesive attracted a little dust over the weeks. Finished piece looks even better in person than in the listing photos. Small issues, but nothing that would stop me ordering again.

The color range on this one is impressive. The drills cover edge to edge with no bald spots. I’m really proud of how it turned out. There were slightly more drills than needed, so it took longer than planned. I’d recommend it with that one note.

I wanted a full-size piece for the wall above the couch. It’s displayed above the sideboard. I’d have preferred more spare drills in the least-used color. I chose this one for the mushroom look. I’d recommend it with that one note.

This is my first large-format kit and the pacing works well. Gave it to my niece as a gift and it was a big hit. The packaging arrived a little dented. Still a good kit overall.

  12. Luz Thompson (verified owner) –

I’ve done smaller kits and this felt like a proper project. The glue is tacky enough that I can reposition if I misplace a drill. The symbols are quite small in the detailed areas. Would make a really nice gift, and it arrives boxed nicely. Still glad I ordered it overall.

I hung it in the hallway and people always ask where I got it. I chose this one for the cottagecore look. This one is going straight on the wall. The pen was fine, though I ended up using my own. Small issues, but nothing that would stop me ordering again.

This kept me busy for a solid month in the best way. There were extra drills left over in every color when I finished. The repetitive motion is oddly satisfying, one of those simple pleasures. I had to press the canvas under books overnight before starting. I’d recommend it with that one note.

  15. James Bridges (verified owner) –

Picked this for the size and stayed for the color range. Print quality is sharp, the cottagecore detail really comes through. One color had a couple of misshapen drills, but spares covered it. I got through it faster than I thought I would. Happy with it despite the small stuff.

  16. Ricardo Gibbs (verified owner) –

This one required patience and rewarded it. No missing colors and no shortage on the ones used most. I listened to a podcast and the time went by without noticing. There were slightly more drills than needed, so it took longer than planned. The overall look is clean and cohesive. Minor gripes aside, I’d buy it again.

  17. Alejandro Bonner (verified owner) –

Ordered this after finishing a smaller canvas and wanting more detail. The canvas feels substantial, not thin or flimsy. I like having something mindful to do that doesn’t need a screen. The canvas smell was noticeable for the first day or two. It’s one of the nicest things I’ve made. It’s a lovely take on a mushroom design. Would order again despite the small issues.

Bought this for the living room wall and it was worth the time. Once it was framed it really pulled the room together. The box arrived a bit dented, though nothing inside was damaged. I’d recommend it with that one note.

I’ve bought from this shop a few times now and this is another good one. The fabric has a good weight to it and hangs flat. The instructions were short but covered everything I needed. I spread it over a week and enjoyed every session. The adhesive picked up lint over the days I worked on it. It’s framed and hanging in our the guest bathroom now. Good kit overall, just a couple of small things.

This was my first diamond painting kit and I’m officially hooked. It fills the wall above the sofa nicely. The wax ran out before I finished and I had to use my own. Happy with it, with a few caveats.

  21. Isabela Miles (verified owner) –

I needed a screen-free hobby and this fit the bill. There were extra drills left over in every color when I finished. The canvas print is sharp and the symbols are legible. It took longer than the estimate, though that’s on me. I find it relaxing to just follow the chart and let my mind wander. It gets compliments from everyone who sees it. The artwork looks even better in person than the photos. Small issues, but nothing that would stop me ordering again.

Really nice kit, especially for the money. The drills cover edge to edge with no bald spots. Framed in a simple black frame and it looks like real art. I wish the printed legend was a little bigger. A solid purchase with a couple of notes.

Took me about a month of evenings and I’d do it again. The chart on the side of the canvas is clear and easy to follow. Quiet Sunday mornings with this and a coffee is my favorite part of the week. One bag of drills had come open in transit. It gets compliments from everyone who sees it. Still a good kit overall.

The color range on this one is impressive. The glue is tacky enough to reposition a misplaced drill. The cottagecore palette works really well with the design. Took longer than the estimated time, but that’s on me. I do this on the porch in the summer and it’s lovely. It fills the wall above the sofa nicely. Happy with it, with one small caveat.

This kept me busy for a solid month in the best way. The numbered sections are spaced well, so the work doesn’t feel cramped. I did a section a night and looked forward to it each time. I’d have liked a paper chart as well as the printed one. Would recommend it with those notes.

The finished size makes a real statement on the wall. I went with the cottagecore version and the colors are lovely. The adhesive is plenty sticky, the drills stay exactly where I put them. I like that it’s creative without requiring any decisions. It’s the nicest thing I’ve made so far. The symbols are quite small in the detailed areas. Would still recommend it.

This is the largest kit I’ve done and it turned out beautifully. Full drill coverage means no blank canvas showing. Extra drills were included for every color, which I appreciated. I did most of it over a lazy weekend and enjoyed every minute. The multi-placer tip took some practice. It’s the nicest thing I’ve made so far. Happy with it, with a few caveats.

The finished size makes a real statement on the wall. Good weight to the materials, it doesn’t feel cheap. I work on it after dinner and it helps me switch off. Only small gripe is that a few drills had little burrs on them. The mushroom subject matter is right up my street. Good kit overall, just a couple of small things.
