About This Mushroom Design

The subject here is a cluster of woodland mushrooms at varying heights, caps domed and gilled, ringed by moss, ferns and scattered leaf litter, set in earthy reds, ochres and deep greens with cream gills and stems. Rather than competing for attention, the piece holds a woodland and cosy tone. Mushroom imagery has moved from seasonal novelty to year-round decor, and the woodland palette is why. It is aimed at makers who want a canvas detailed enough to frame rather than store. Designed for reading nooks and autumn styling, it holds up as decor rather than as something you finish and put in a drawer. Reference Q4772. mushroom imagery has moved from seasonal novelty to year-round decor, and the woodland palette is why. Placed in reading nooks and autumn styling, it reads as part of the room rather than an addition to it.

A DOTZSO kit is put together so the process stays unhurried and the finished canvas is worth framing. Along with the canvas come DOTZSO resin drills, a sorting tray, a comfort-grip applicator pen, a wax caddy and pictorial steps.

A good canvas print is half the finished result. This one is produced so the symbols stay legible through a long project rather than fading at the edges.

Supplied as 1 separate canvases, so the set can be worked one design at a time.

What’s in the Box

  • 1 × colour-printed canvas
  • DOTZSO signature resin drills, sorted by colour (with extra drills included)
  • Diamond painting tray
  • Comfort-grip applicator pen
  • Wax caddy
  • Pictorial step-by-step instructions

How to Make It

  1. Unroll the canvas on a flat surface and let it settle under something weighted if it has been rolled tight.
  2. Find the legend strip and match the first symbol to its drill colour.
  3. Press the pen tip into the wax caddy, then touch it to a drill – the drill lifts and stays on the tip.
  4. Set the drill onto the matching printed symbol and press lightly. Work one colour block at a time rather than jumping around the canvas.
  5. Continue until the design is complete, then press the finished surface flat with a book for an hour to seat every drill.
  6. Seat the canvas in its frame, or store it flat, once the surface has been pressed.

Work through it colour by colour, then frame the canvas and hang it where it gets seen.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this diamond painting kit contain the full Mushroom project?

Yes. The Mushroom diamond painting kit ships complete with everything shown in the product images, so there is nothing else to source, plus the DOTZSO resin drills, tray, applicator pen, wax caddy and pictorial instructions. Nothing else needs sourcing. Reference Q4772.

Will the Mushroom surface keep its finish with regular contact?

Once the drills are seated and the surface is sealed, the Mushroom design holds under normal use. The sealed surface handles normal handling, and the sealing step is the single biggest factor in how long the finish lasts. Normal wear leaves the Mushroom surface unaffected.

How do I maintain the Mushroom diamond painting kit long term?

Wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately. Do not submerge it or put it through a dishwasher — the adhesive layer under the drills is not built for a soak. For the Mushroom palette, earthy reds, ochres and deep greens tones show dust less than pale grounds, so a light pass is usually enough. The Mushroom surface asks for very little upkeep.

Is the Mushroom surface fully worked, or is it a partial-drill piece?

The round resin drills are colour-sorted and matched to the printed symbol key. The Mushroom artwork is drawn so that a cluster of woodland mushrooms at varying heights reads clearly at any distance. That applies across the whole Mushroom face.

How long does the Mushroom design typically take?

Plan for two to four evenings, depending on the size of the canvas. The Mushroom design is woodland and cosy, which tends to make it easier to work in short sessions. The Mushroom pattern rewards steady work rather than rushing.

How beginner-safe is the Mushroom diamond painting kit?

Yes. The symbol key is printed directly on the canvas and the pictorial instructions walk through the whole process, so no prior diamond painting experience is needed. The Mushroom layout is woodland and cosy, which helps on a first attempt. Everything ships together in one box.

  1. Teresa L. –

This kept me busy for a solid month in the best way. Color count is higher than my earlier kits, which shows in the finished piece. The packaging was a little crushed on one corner. The cottagecore subject is rendered with more detail than I expected. Already ordered another one from DOTZSO. Happy enough that I’d buy another.

Really nice kit, especially for the money. Edges have enough margin for framing. Nothing arrived damaged, and everything was sealed properly. The canvas had a slight crease from shipping, though it flattened out. It’s a slow, quiet hobby and I like that about it. It’s framed and hanging in our the hallway now. Overall a good experience.

  3. Simon Horne –

This showed up faster than I expected and I started it the same night. It fills the wall exactly the way I hoped. Instructions were minimal, though it’s easy enough to figure out. Good enough that I’d buy another.

  4. Sharon M. (verified owner) –

This was my first full size canvas and it turned out better than I hoped. Symbols are printed clearly even in the busy areas of the mushroom section. The repetitive motion is oddly satisfying, one of those simple pleasures. The packaging was a little crushed on one corner. Overall a good experience.

  5. Theo F. (verified owner) –

Bigger than it looks in the photos, which was a nice surprise. The adhesive is plenty sticky, the drills stay exactly where I put them. Looks lovely framed and hung up. Took a bit longer to arrive than I expected. If you like cottagecore designs, this is a good one to go for. Overall a good experience.

  6. Mable Ellison (verified owner) –

This is the biggest canvas I’ve taken on and it’s been a joy. The legend was easy to follow and matched the canvas printing. The tweezers included were actually good quality. The sorting tray is shallow, drills spill out if you’re not careful. I set aside twenty minutes a night for this and it’s become a ritual. The mushroom motif makes it feel special. It looks stunning in natural light. Good kit — the notes above are minor.

  7. Jeffery Anderson (verified owner) –

The finished size makes a real statement on the wall. Nothing was damaged in shipping and the packaging was neat. Something about placing the drills is very settling. The glue picked up a bit of dust over the weeks I worked on it. Good enough that I’d buy another.

  8. Emmanuel Ware (verified owner) –

This kept me busy for a solid month in the best way. Drills cover edge to edge with no bald spots. I do this while listening to music and the time disappears. It would help to include a larger paper chart. It’s up in the hallway and gets noticed. Minor quibbles aside, I’d buy it again.

  9. Dianne Adams (verified owner) –

Picked this up during a sale and it was money well spent. The finish is even across the whole piece. I do this on the porch in the summer and it’s lovely. It’s framed and hanging in the living room. The adhesive attracted a little dust over the weeks. I’d order again, just knowing what to expect.

A bigger project than I’ve done before, but so worth the time. It’s a charming mushroom piece and everyone comments on it. Symbol letters are small but legible, and the legend helped a lot. The canvas arrived folded rather than rolled, took a while to flatten. My friends all want one now. Still worth it overall.

  11. Lillie Prince (verified owner) –

This showed up faster than I expected and I started it the same night. The print quality is sharp and the detail comes through. I’ve been doing it in the evenings with my partner, we take turns on sections. Would have liked the drills pre-sorted by color. Happy enough that I’d buy another.

  12. Rosalie Arnold –

The color range on this one is impressive. Color count is higher than my earlier kits, which shows in the finished piece. The multi-placer tip took some practice. It’s the centerpiece of that wall. Would still recommend it.

  13. Tim Sparks –

This one took some patience but the result is stunning. Symbols are readable even in the busiest sections. Genuinely peaceful to work on one row at a time. Framed in a simple black frame and it looks like real art. The canvas had a slight crease from shipping, though it flattened out. Small issues, but nothing that would stop me ordering again.

  14. Harry Roth (verified owner) –

This one took some patience but the result is stunning. The canvas came rolled, and it flattened out with no creases. Really calming, repetitive work, and satisfying when a section is finished. I pressed it under books overnight before starting. Mild quibbles, but a good purchase.

  15. Stan Villarreal (verified owner) –

Picked this up during a sale and it was money well spent. My friends all want one now. Some colors had very few spare drills. Happy enough that I’d buy another.

  16. Steven Winters (verified owner) –

Bought this to fill a blank wall and it did the job. Full drill coverage means no blank canvas showing. The canvas had a slight crease from shipping, though it flattened out. The finished piece gets compliments from everyone who visits. A solid purchase with a couple of notes.

  17. Karen Herndon (verified owner) –

Took it slow, a section at a time, and really enjoyed the process. There’s enough white space at the border for framing without cropping. I take it on the porch in the evenings when the weather is nice. I went with the mushroom version and the colors are lovely. The adhesive picked up a bit of dust while I was working over several days. Really pleased with how it turned out. Would buy again; the notes are minor.
