  • DOTZSO signature resin drills, sorted by colour (with extra drills included)
  • Diamond painting tray
  • Comfort-grip applicator pen

How to Make It

  1. Lay the printed case panel flat and let it settle before starting.
  2. Find the legend strip and match the first symbol to its drill colour.
  3. Press the pen tip into the wax caddy, then touch it to a drill – the drill lifts and stays on the tip.
  4. Set the drill onto the matching printed symbol and press lightly. Work one section at a time rather than across the whole panel.
  5. Continue until the panel is covered, then press the finished surface flat with a book for an hour to seat every drill.
  6. Seal the surface and fit the panel into the case frame once the drills are fully seated.

Complete it over a few sessions, then let the case settle into everyday use.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the Abstract eyeglass case kit come with as standard?

Yes. The Abstract eyeglass case kit ships complete with the case body and frame shown in the product images, plus the DOTZSO resin drills, tray, applicator pen, wax caddy and pictorial instructions. Nothing else needs sourcing. Reference Q62.

Will the Abstract eyeglass case kit take knocks without damage?

Once the drills are seated and the surface is sealed, the Abstract design holds under normal use. The rigid shell is what protects the drills in a bag, and the sealing step is the single biggest factor in how long the finish lasts. The drilling on the Abstract piece stays level over time.

Can I use a damp cloth on the Abstract design?

Wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately. Do not submerge it or put it through a dishwasher — the adhesive layer under the drills is not built for a soak. For the Abstract palette, muted terracotta, dusty blue and soft graphite resolved against an off-white ground tones show dust less than pale grounds, so a light pass is usually enough. The Abstract surface cleans up with minimal effort.

Does the Abstract eyeglass case kit have complete drill work?

The panel is drilled across the whole face, so the finished case has complete coverage. The Abstract artwork is drawn so that overlapping colour fields drifting across the canvas reads clearly at any distance. Coverage on the Abstract piece does not vary across the design.

Is the Abstract project suited to evenings rather than a full day?

Roughly one to two evenings for most people, depending on the pattern density. The Abstract design is modern and understated, which tends to make it easier to work in short sessions. Break it into short sessions and it never feels long.

Is the Abstract eyeglass case kit straightforward for a newcomer?

Yes. The symbol key is printed directly on the case panel and the pictorial instructions walk through the whole process, so no prior diamond painting experience is needed. The Abstract layout is modern and understated, which helps on a first attempt. Nothing has to be sourced locally.

Wasn’t sure what to expect, but I’m very happy with it. Holds its shape nicely, doesn’t collapse when empty. Slightly snug for my oversized sunglasses. I did this with my daughter on the weekends and we both got into it. I’d recommend it with that one note.

  2. Sofia F. –

I picked this up on a whim and ended up really enjoying it. Each color was packed generously, I had plenty to spare. Took a bit longer to arrive than I expected. Gave one to my mom for Mother’s Day and she carries it everywhere. If you like abstract designs, this is a good one to go for. Would order again despite the small issues.

Made this for my husband’s sunglasses and he uses it constantly. Worth the time it took. I’d have liked one more spare clasp. Worth buying, just plan for those small quirks.

Got this for my mom and she uses it every single day. Really neat stitching where the two sides join. I’ve already ordered more for the rest of the family. The adhesive picked up lint over the days I worked on it. Happy with it, with one small caveat.

  6. Vicki Bauer (verified owner) –

This is a genuinely nice kit for the money. The abstract subject matter is right up my street. It’s the sort of object that makes a room feel more finished. A little snug for oversized frames. Small things aside, it’s a good buy.

  7. Marcus Maguire –

I finished mine in an evening and started another. Great value considering how many hours of enjoyment it gave me. One bead was slightly off-colour from the rest. Small issues, but nothing that would stop me ordering again.

Bought it to have something to look forward to after work. The abstract pattern is what made me choose this one. The seam is visible if you look closely. It’s practical and it looks nice, which is a rare combination. Happy with it despite the small stuff.

Wasn’t sure what to expect, but I’m very happy with it. Very pleased with how it came together. The adhesive picked up a bit of dust while I was working over several days. Would order again despite the small issues.

  10. Alice Vasquez (verified owner) –

Not my first diamond painting, but one of my favorites. Really neat stitching where the two sides join. This is a lovely contemporary piece for the price. Some colors came with barely any extras, though I didn’t run out. I do it at the kitchen table while dinner simmers. Still worth it overall.

  11. Samuel Little (verified owner) –

I bought it because I’m always losing my readers and it’s been great. The legend was easy to follow and matched the canvas printing. Perfect for keeping my glasses safe in my handbag. I wish there were a larger size option. This is a lovely abstract piece for the price. Small issues, but nothing that would stop me ordering again.

  12. Gertrude Bennett (verified owner) –

A friend wouldn’t stop talking about hers, so I finally ordered one. Finished size is just right for a standard pair of readers. It’s a good way to slow down at the end of the day. The seam is visible up close. Everyone who sees it asks where it came from. Overall happy, just a few small things.

  13. Tommy Warren (verified owner) –

Bought two so I could keep one and gift one. The fit is snug enough that glasses don’t rattle around. Took me a while to get the hang of the multi-placer tip. It’s my go-to when I need a quiet evening. Would make a really nice gift, and it arrives boxed nicely. Worth it despite the small things.

  14. Diego R. (verified owner) –

Small enough to finish in one sitting, which I loved. Made these as stocking stuffers for the whole family. The interior could use a bit more padding. Happy enough that I’d buy another.

Honestly better quality than I expected for the price. The finished piece has no sharp edges near the face. The interior could use more padding. The finished piece looks far better than I expected. Would order again despite the small issues.

  16. Jack N. (verified owner) –

Perfect size for a first diamond art project. The case is rigid enough that I trust it in my bag. The closure is a little stiff at first. Nice to have something that gets me off my phone for a while. Gave it to my niece as a gift and it was a big hit. Still worth it overall.

  17. Nathan W. (verified owner) –

Came quickly and was packaged really well. Nice solid feel, not the flimsy fabric kind. There were slightly more drills than needed, so it took longer than planned. I use it every day for my reading glasses. Overall a good experience.

This was a quick finish and I’ve used it every day since. Made one for my mother and she carries it everywhere. The interior could use more padding. Happy enough that I’d buy another.

  19. Cecilia Moody –

This showed up right when I needed a quiet evening activity. The shape holds up well, hasn’t gotten squashed. The drills sit nice and flush, no gaps showing the surface underneath. Quiet Sunday mornings with this and a coffee is my favorite part of the week. A magnetic closure would have been nicer than the snap. I reach for it every morning for my readers. A solid purchase with a couple of notes.
