Why This Landscape Set Earns Its Place on the Table

A layered vista of ridgelines receding into low mist, with a still lake catching the sky and pine slopes anchoring both banks forms the subject of this Landscape piece, worked in cool pine green and slate blue with a band of warm light at the horizon. The character is expansive and quiet, and it stays that way at any distance. Landscape work is the most forgiving motif to live with — it never dates and it never demands the room match it. It is aimed at homes where the small objects on the table have been chosen on purpose. Designed for living rooms and reading corners, it holds up as decor rather than as something you finish and put in a drawer. Reference BD314. Depth is built through graded blues rather than outlines, so the scene pulls the eye inward the longer it hangs That is the detail that separates this from a generic Landscape print.

landscape work is the most forgiving motif to live with — it never dates and it never demands the room match it. That is what puts it at home in living rooms and reading corners, with the expansive tone of the colours carrying the room.

DOTZSO builds these kits for slow evenings, with a finish good enough to leave out on the table. Box contents run to a colour-printed canvas, DOTZSO resin drills, a tray, a comfort-grip pen, a wax caddy and a pictorial reference sheet.

Nothing here is decorative-only. The base grips, the cork absorbs, and the drill surface is pressed flat so it survives ordinary use.

The 8-piece format covers seating for a full table without buying twice.

What’s in the Box

  • 8 × anti-slip coaster with cork-backed base
  • 1 × display holder / stand
  • DOTZSO signature resin drills, sorted by colour (with extra drills included)
  • Diamond painting tray
  • Comfort-grip applicator pen
  • Wax caddy
  • Pictorial step-by-step instructions

How to Make It

  1. Unroll the canvas on a flat surface and let it settle under something weighted if it has been rolled tight.
  2. Find the legend strip and match the first symbol to its drill colour.
  3. Press the pen tip into the wax caddy, then touch it to a drill – the drill lifts and stays on the tip.
  4. Set the drill onto the matching printed symbol and press lightly. Work one coaster at a time rather than moving across the whole set.
  5. Complete all coasters, then press each finished surface flat with a book for an hour to seat every drill.
  6. Finally, leave the set on the table for a few hours before first use so the drills settle fully.

Work through it gradually, then let the finished coasters take their place in daily use.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the coaster set for the Landscape design sold as one complete unit?

Yes. The Landscape coaster set ships complete with the stand shown in the product images, so the coasters have somewhere to live when they are not in use, plus the DOTZSO resin drills, tray, applicator pen, wax caddy and pictorial instructions. Nothing else needs sourcing. Reference BD314.

Will the Landscape surface shed drills over time?

Once the drills are seated and the surface is sealed, the Landscape design holds under normal use. The cork-backed base is what stops condensation reaching the table, and the sealing step is the single biggest factor in how long the finish lasts. The Landscape work is fixed, not surface-mounted, so it does not shift.

Is the Landscape coaster set easy to keep clean?

Wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately. Do not submerge them or put them through a dishwasher — the adhesive layer under the drills is not built for a soak. For the Landscape palette, cool pine green and slate blue tones show dust less than pale grounds, so a light pass is usually enough. The Landscape finish prefers dry methods to wet ones.

Is the Landscape surface fully worked?

The drilled finish and palette are matched across the whole set, but each coaster carries its own printed motif. The Landscape artwork is drawn so that a layered vista of ridgelines receding into low mist reads clearly at any distance. The Landscape surface is treated as one complete unit.

Is the Landscape coaster set a long or short project?

Roughly 30 to 45 minutes each for most people, so a full set is a few evenings rather than one sitting. The Landscape design is expansive and quiet, which tends to make it easier to work in short sessions. It is a project rather than a single evening’s task.

Is the Landscape design suitable for a first project?

Yes. The symbol key is printed directly on the cork-backed base and the pictorial instructions walk through the whole process, so no prior diamond painting experience is needed. The Landscape layout is expansive and quiet, which helps on a first attempt. Everything required is in the pack.

These are my go-to when I want a small craft that still feels rewarding. The adhesive is plenty sticky, the drills stay exactly where I put them. I do it at the kitchen table while dinner simmers. Exactly what I was hoping for.

These are my go-to when I want a small craft that still feels rewarding. Each one took me a weekend to finish, quicker than I expected. It fits perfectly with the decor in the kitchen. The Christmas detail comes together really nicely once it’s finished. Happy customer here.

Ordered it after seeing one a friend finished, and I get the appeal now. Each coaster is a good thickness and feels sturdy in the hand. The adhesive is plenty sticky, the drills stay exactly where I put them. Nice mindful project – you can’t think about much else while you’re placing drills. I’ve had three people ask me where I bought it. Five stars from me.

Such a fun format – one coaster at a time, no big commitment. The holiday palette is softer in person, which I actually prefer. Really happy with the end result. The holder doesn’t match the coasters exactly in finish. Still worth it overall.

These are my go-to when I want a small craft that still feels rewarding. Nice thickness – not the flimsy cardboard kind. I like having something mindful to do that doesn’t need a screen. Definitely recommend giving it a try.

  6. Sherry E. (verified owner) –

Perfect little kit – not overwhelming like a full canvas. The holder is sturdy enough that I actually keep them in it. Did most of it over a long weekend and it was such a pleasant way to pass the time. The holder doesn’t match the coasters exactly in finish. It’s a charming festive piece and everyone comments on it. Gave it to my mother-in-law as a gift and it was a big hit. Still a solid purchase.

Bought a set as a hostess gift and kept a set for myself. They’re a nice size for a standard mug, and even a wider tumbler fits. The festive palette is softer in person, which I actually prefer. Everyone who sees it asks how long it took. I’ll be ordering more.

Ordered two kits, this was the one I finished first. No missing colors and no shortage on the ones used most. I take it to my book club and work on it while we chat. Exactly what I was hoping for.

These are great for a first-timer, not intimidating at all. The backing grips the table instead of sliding around. It’s the kind of task that quiets a busy mind. Very pleased overall.

I wanted something I could pick up for twenty minutes at a time. Each color was packed generously, I had plenty to spare. The wax and pen that came with it worked fine right out of the box. I listened to a podcast and the time went by without noticing. I’ve gotten so many compliments on it. I went with the scenery version and the colors are lovely. Really glad I bought it.

This was my first diamond painting kit and I’m officially hooked. Each coaster is a solid, even thickness with no warping. No missing colors and nothing short in the high-use shades. It’s become my evening ritual – an hour of this and I feel settled. Made a set for my sister and now she wants more. Can’t recommend it enough.

I wanted coasters that didn’t look like everyone else’s and these fit. The surface wipes clean with a damp cloth, no fuss. I chose this one for the landscape look. The chart was large enough to read without squinting. The multi-placer tip took some practice. Nice to have something that gets me off my phone for a while. Definitely ordering more as gifts. Small things aside, it’s a good buy.

Got these for the kitchen table and they look so cute. They make the whole table look more put together. The landscape element makes it feel personal. It only comes in sets, so I couldn’t buy a single extra. Good enough that I’d buy another.

I grabbed these to have something small to work on in the evenings. The drills sit nice and flush, no gaps showing the surface underneath. Nothing arrived damaged, and everything was sealed properly. Keeps my hands busy during long flights and hotel evenings. I’m really proud of how it turned out. Would make a great gift too.

These are the first coasters I’ve made and I’m sold on the format. Spare drills were included, which I appreciated. Perfect for a cozy evening in when you want to keep your hands busy. I bring them out for guests and always get asked about them. No complaints at all.

I’ve bought from this shop a few times now and this is another good one. The cork is dense, not the crumbly kind that sheds. Colors are distinct enough that I never mixed two shades up. I work on it while listening to an audiobook and the time just disappears. It’s a lovely take on a scenery design. They’re on the coffee table and get used every day. Great kit, no complaints.

Bought these to replace a tired set and the upgrade is obvious. The symbols on the chart were easy to follow from start to finish. They’ve survived a house full of guests without a mark. Will be ordering more for gifts.

Came quickly and was packaged really well. The pen and wax worked fine, I didn’t need to dig out my own tools. This is the kind of craft that’s genuinely calming after a hectic day. Wish the cork backing were a touch thicker. Using them on the patio table and they’ve held up fine. I’d recommend it with that one note.

I keep a set going on the kitchen counter. The cork base means no scratches and no condensation rings. I found it genuinely enjoyable rather than just something to finish. It reads as a deliberate design choice, not a craft. Recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing craft.

I’ve bought from this shop a few times now and this is another good one. The holder fits all 8 pieces neatly, keeps them from getting lost. It was a pleasant way to spend a slow afternoon. They stack away neatly when I want the table clear. The scenery artwork comes together beautifully as you work. Will be back for more.

Was looking for a small diamond art project and these nailed it. The kit came complete, nothing extra needed from the craft store. It’s a lovely quiet hobby, and I like having something to show for it at the end. Everyone who sees it asks where it came from. It’s a lovely take on a landscape design. It only comes in sets, so I couldn’t buy a single extra. Happy with it, with one small caveat.

A set of coasters felt like the perfect bite-sized project. The drills are bright and consistent in size, no weird off-color batches. Everyone who visits picks one up to look at it. They’re a bit smaller than I pictured for a large tumbler. Happy with it, with a few caveats.
