Why This Landscape Set Earns Its Place on the Table

A layered vista of ridgelines receding into low mist, with a still lake catching the sky and pine slopes anchoring both banks forms the subject of this Landscape piece, worked in cool pine green and slate blue with a band of warm light at the horizon. The character is expansive and quiet, and it stays that way at any distance. Landscape work is the most forgiving motif to live with — it never dates and it never demands the room match it. It is aimed at homes where the small objects on the table have been chosen on purpose. Designed for living rooms and reading corners, it holds up as decor rather than as something you finish and put in a drawer. Reference BD314. Depth is built through graded blues rather than outlines, so the scene pulls the eye inward the longer it hangs That is the detail that separates this from a generic Landscape print.

landscape work is the most forgiving motif to live with — it never dates and it never demands the room match it. That is what puts it at home in living rooms and reading corners, with the expansive tone of the colours carrying the room.

DOTZSO builds these kits for slow evenings, with a finish good enough to leave out on the table. Box contents run to a colour-printed canvas, DOTZSO resin drills, a tray, a comfort-grip pen, a wax caddy and a pictorial reference sheet.

Nothing here is decorative-only. The base grips, the cork absorbs, and the drill surface is pressed flat so it survives ordinary use.

The 8-piece format covers seating for a full table without buying twice.

What’s in the Box

  • 8 × anti-slip coaster with cork-backed base
  • 1 × display holder / stand
  • DOTZSO signature resin drills, sorted by colour (with extra drills included)
  • Diamond painting tray
  • Comfort-grip applicator pen
  • Wax caddy
  • Pictorial step-by-step instructions

How to Make It

  1. Unroll the canvas on a flat surface and let it settle under something weighted if it has been rolled tight.
  2. Find the legend strip and match the first symbol to its drill colour.
  3. Press the pen tip into the wax caddy, then touch it to a drill – the drill lifts and stays on the tip.
  4. Set the drill onto the matching printed symbol and press lightly. Work one coaster at a time rather than moving across the whole set.
  5. Complete all coasters, then press each finished surface flat with a book for an hour to seat every drill.
  6. Finally, leave the set on the table for a few hours before first use so the drills settle fully.

Work through it gradually, then let the finished coasters take their place in daily use.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the coaster set for the Landscape design sold as one complete unit?

Yes. The Landscape coaster set ships complete with the stand shown in the product images, so the coasters have somewhere to live when they are not in use, plus the DOTZSO resin drills, tray, applicator pen, wax caddy and pictorial instructions. Nothing else needs sourcing. Reference BD314.

Will the Landscape surface shed drills over time?

Once the drills are seated and the surface is sealed, the Landscape design holds under normal use. The cork-backed base is what stops condensation reaching the table, and the sealing step is the single biggest factor in how long the finish lasts. The Landscape work is fixed, not surface-mounted, so it does not shift.

Is the Landscape coaster set easy to keep clean?

Wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately. Do not submerge them or put them through a dishwasher — the adhesive layer under the drills is not built for a soak. For the Landscape palette, cool pine green and slate blue tones show dust less than pale grounds, so a light pass is usually enough. The Landscape finish prefers dry methods to wet ones.

Is the Landscape surface fully worked?

The drilled finish and palette are matched across the whole set, but each coaster carries its own printed motif. The Landscape artwork is drawn so that a layered vista of ridgelines receding into low mist reads clearly at any distance. The Landscape surface is treated as one complete unit.

Is the Landscape coaster set a long or short project?

Roughly 30 to 45 minutes each for most people, so a full set is a few evenings rather than one sitting. The Landscape design is expansive and quiet, which tends to make it easier to work in short sessions. It is a project rather than a single evening’s task.

Is the Landscape design suitable for a first project?

Yes. The symbol key is printed directly on the cork-backed base and the pictorial instructions walk through the whole process, so no prior diamond painting experience is needed. The Landscape layout is expansive and quiet, which helps on a first attempt. Everything required is in the pack.

  1. Robert F. (verified owner) –

Such a fun format – one coaster at a time, no big commitment. The holiday palette is softer in person, which I actually prefer. Really happy with the end result. The holder doesn’t match the coasters exactly in finish. Still worth it overall.

Perfect little kit – not overwhelming like a full canvas. The holder is sturdy enough that I actually keep them in it. Did most of it over a long weekend and it was such a pleasant way to pass the time. The holder doesn’t match the coasters exactly in finish. It’s a charming festive piece and everyone comments on it. Gave it to my mother-in-law as a gift and it was a big hit. Still a solid purchase.

  3. Joshua Duarte –

I wanted coasters that didn’t look like everyone else’s and these fit. The surface wipes clean with a damp cloth, no fuss. I chose this one for the landscape look. The chart was large enough to read without squinting. The multi-placer tip took some practice. Nice to have something that gets me off my phone for a while. Definitely ordering more as gifts. Small things aside, it’s a good buy.

My husband picked this out for me and he chose well. The finished piece genuinely surprised me. The edges could be sealed a little better for daily use. Worth it despite the small things.

Got these for the kitchen table and they look so cute. They make the whole table look more put together. The landscape element makes it feel personal. It only comes in sets, so I couldn’t buy a single extra. Good enough that I’d buy another.

Came quickly and was packaged really well. The pen and wax worked fine, I didn’t need to dig out my own tools. This is the kind of craft that’s genuinely calming after a hectic day. Wish the cork backing were a touch thicker. Using them on the patio table and they’ve held up fine. I’d recommend it with that one note.

  7. DiamondDawnCrafts –

Was looking for a small diamond art project and these nailed it. The kit came complete, nothing extra needed from the craft store. It’s a lovely quiet hobby, and I like having something to show for it at the end. Everyone who sees it asks where it came from. It’s a lovely take on a landscape design. It only comes in sets, so I couldn’t buy a single extra. Happy with it, with one small caveat.

A set of coasters felt like the perfect bite-sized project. The drills are bright and consistent in size, no weird off-color batches. Everyone who visits picks one up to look at it. They’re a bit smaller than I pictured for a large tumbler. Happy with it, with a few caveats.

  10. Myrtle Farley –

These are my favorite style of kit to give away. Each coaster is a good thickness and feels sturdy in the hand. The packaging was a little crushed on one corner. They’ve become the thing people notice first in the living room. Worth it despite the small things.

  11. StashBusterSam –

Bought this after finishing my last kit and it was a good call. The adhesive held well across several weeks of working on it. The backing held up fine and didn’t peel anywhere. I do a section a night with a podcast on. The result looks handmade in the best way. It only comes in sets, so I couldn’t buy a single extra. Still glad I ordered it overall.

Added this to my cart at the last minute and I’m glad I did. The holder is sturdy enough that I actually keep them in it. Perfect for a cozy evening in when you want to keep your hands busy. Shipping took a bit longer than the estimate. Still a solid purchase.

  13. Rose Bell (verified owner) –

Bought these for our patio table and they look charming. The cork keeps them from sticking to the table when there’s condensation. The pen that came with it is a bit flimsy, I swapped in my own. The scenery palette works really well with the design. I gave one to my sister and she immediately ordered her own. Still a solid purchase.

  14. Olivia Houston –

Small enough to take along on a trip. Each coaster is a solid thickness and feels durable. One coaster had a marginally off-center print. Something about placing the drills is very settling. They’ve become the thing people notice first in the living room. Would recommend it with those notes.

Such a fun format – one coaster at a time, no big commitment. The drills have a nice sparkle to them, not dull or flat. Going to order a few more for Christmas presents. A few bags weren’t labeled as clearly as the rest. Overall a good experience.

I’ve had my eye on this design since last season. The cork keeps them from sticking to the table when there’s condensation. I worked on this during my lunch breaks and it made the days feel better. I wish the box were sturdier for storage. Good kit — the notes above are minor.

  17. Travis C. (verified owner) –

I made one the first night just to see how it went, then did the rest over the week. It’s a charming festive piece and everyone comments on it. Finish is even and the whole thing looks tidy once you’re done. I do a section after work with a cup of tea and it’s a nice way to unwind. A couple of the darker shades were hard to tell apart in low light. I’ve had three people ask me where I bought it. Happy with it, with a few caveats.

I wanted something I could finish in a sitting or two and these were it. The holder keeps the set together and tidy. They’re a bit small for a large tumbler. Keeps my hands busy during long flights and hotel evenings. I’d recommend it with that one note.

  19. Jeanette Wilson (verified owner) –

Not my first diamond painting, but one of my favorites. The finish is even across the whole piece. I worked on this with my mother and we both got absorbed in it. The tray included is on the small side. Minor things, but I’d still buy it again.

  20. Reba Bradley (verified owner) –

Bought it for a rainy weekend and it was exactly what I needed. Each one took me two evenings to finish, quicker than I expected. A couple of the darker shades were hard to tell apart. Genuinely peaceful to work on one row at a time. The landscape colors are richer than the photos show. Good enough that I’d buy another.

Bought a set for the camper and they’ve been great. Great housewarming gift, small and thoughtful. One coaster had a marginally off-center print. Happy enough that I’d buy another.

I keep coming back to this shop because the quality is consistent. The holder fits all 8 pieces neatly, keeps them from getting lost. It’s become my evening ritual – an hour of this and I feel settled. The holder doesn’t match the coasters exactly in finish. Made a set for my book club and everyone wanted the link. Happy enough that I’d buy another.

I made one the first night just to see how it went, then did the rest over the week. Nice thickness – not the flimsy cardboard kind. The holder doesn’t match the coasters exactly in finish. They’ve held up well to daily coffee and tea. Would order again despite the small issues.

Saw a finished version online and tracked down this kit the same day. The cork base means no scratches and no condensation rings. One coaster had a marginally off-center print. Nice to have a hobby that leaves you calmer than you started. A useful gift that people actually keep out. Small things aside, it’s a good buy.

Bought this to do with my daughter on rainy days. The cork keeps them from sticking to the table when there’s condensation. The drills sit nice and flush, no gaps showing the surface underneath. They’re a bit smaller than I pictured for a large tumbler. I did most of it over a lazy weekend and enjoyed every minute. Using them on the patio table and they’ve held up fine. Still worth it overall.

I like having a small kit that doesn’t take a month. They’ve held up well to daily coffee and tea. The scenery subject matter is right up my street. Some colors had very few spare drills. Would buy again; the notes are minor.

I wanted something I could finish in a sitting or two and these were it. They wipe clean easily, which matters with kids around. Going to order a few more for Christmas presents. I’d prefer slightly thicker cork on the base. Small issues, but nothing that would stop me ordering again.

This is my fourth kit from DOTZSO and the quality is holding up. The scenery palette works really well with the design. Nothing arrived damaged, and everything was sealed properly. I wish the printed legend was a little bigger. A peaceful project that fits into whatever time you have. I gave a set to my son’s teacher and she was thrilled. A solid purchase with a couple of notes.

This was my first diamond painting kit and I’m officially hooked. The finish on each coaster is consistent across the set. Good weight to the materials, it doesn’t feel cheap. The multi-placer tip took some practice. Perfect for winding down before bed, much better than watching another show. A really satisfying project from start to finish. Small issues, but nothing that would stop me ordering again.

Bought a set to use at our lake house and ended up making all eight. It’s earned a spot on the wall. The landscape motif makes it feel special. The holder doesn’t match the coasters exactly in finish. Worth buying, just plan for those small quirks.

These little coasters are the perfect size for a quick project. The thickness makes them feel like real coasters, not craft foam. The holder doesn’t match the coasters exactly in finish. Perfect for a cozy evening in when you want to keep your hands busy. Happy with it, with a few caveats.

I’ve done a handful of these now and this one is up there with the best. The holder is sturdy enough that I actually keep them in it. I gave a set to my son’s teacher and she was thrilled. The adhesive picked up lint over the days I worked on it. The landscape artwork comes together beautifully as you work. Still a solid purchase.
